SCOPE OF WORK


To provide specialist support in business planning, strategy and performance management across the Transmission and Distribution’s distribution asset portfolio to ensure alignment with, and enablement of, the business line’s performance and continuous growth.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE


STRATEGY AND PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENT


Provide support in all strategic and business planning efforts for the distribution asset in line with the business line strategy and the overall corporate vision.

Support in the preparation of the distribution asset budget, and continuously monitor expenditure against approved budget and reconciling any variances to ensure on-target performance against budgets.

Coordinate with various functions in the department to ensure that target KPIs have been set and continuously monitor performance against set KPIs and recommend course of action in case of any deviation.

Analyse the Distribution Asset’s past performance and conduct trend and benchmark analyses to provide financial forecasts/projections for medium- and long-term requirements of the asset.

Prepare and develop the distribution asset’s briefing reports and presentation materials for management to support the decision-making process.

Perform ad-hoc analysis requested by Management and liaise with different departments/divisions whenever financial or business analysis support is requested to ensure accurate and timely data is submitted.

MARKET INTELLIGENCE 


Collaborate with the Transmission and Distribution business line to support in the preparation of economic analysis and forecasting for potential distribution asset opportunities to assess growth potential, returns and the commercial terms of potential agreements.

Conduct key market trends analysis for the distribution business line (incl. Regional trends, technology trends, ecosystem trends) to identify key insights for BL’s growth from a strategic perspective.

Conduct research on possible regulatory and political risks that might impact the distribution business line and provide recommendation to limit and mitigate any potential risks that might hinder performance.

COLLABORATION


Develop and maintain strong relationships with strategic partners and all relevant external/internal entities with highest standards of business ethics, in-order to improve business outcomes whilst protecting TAQA’s business interests.

Resolve any conflicts on priorities, goals, strategies, resources, and key initiatives in a timely manner to ensure the continuous performance of the assets.

Collaborate with other business lines (BL) within TAQA to share knowledge and lesson learnt to optimize cost and enhance performance.

Support other functions within Transmission & Distribution business line to evaluate, define and secure the optimum market position and prices for TAQA’s assets including analysis of alternative tariff, different pricing arrangements, product and feedstock market assessments and development of pricing forecasts and future economic scenarios based on ground realities.

Develop and maintain a comprehensive market database for traders, suppliers, buyers, quality specifications and volumes to facilitate future decision.

KEY SKILLS REQUIRED


Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Economics, Business Administration, or any related field.

10 years of relevant experience in Asset management or strategy development.

Job Purpose 


To manage and implement various HR activities including Organisation Design, Workforce Planning, Emiratization and Employee Engagement in order to efficiently meet short and long-term staffing requirements, manage the execution of organisational development in line with TAQA’s strategy, objectives and standards.


Job Specific Accountabilities


HC Strategy and Reporting


Participate in the identification of opportunities for performance improvement through undertaking internal diagnosis, process / system reviews to understand barriers and possible solutions​ to ensure the development of a comprehensive HC strategy that is aligned to the organization’s strategy.


Develop and implement the HC function strategy by providing relevant input and by translating it into plans and actions.


Develop and manage initiatives which foster a high-performance culture, valuing learning, continuous improvement and diversity and outline their corresponding parameters to ensure effective preparation for their implementation.


Manage the implementation of employee engagement initiatives that will help increase the employee satisfaction and boost morale.


Manage the development and implementation of HC function’s performance metrics and dashboards by supporting in the process of setting KPIs to monitor and track performance and ensure performance targets and results are aligned with business goals.


Continuously report on performance by utilizing business intelligence and other decision support tools.


Workforce Planning


Manage the analysis of TAQA’s current and future workforce requirements based on strategic objectives of the organization and individual objectives of various business units / departments and market trends of supply and demand in order to forecast required numbers, demographics and the time span required to effectively fulfil requirements.


Develop and attain the necessary approvals to an overall workforce plan for TAQA which sets out the human resources requirements to staff the organisation based on the talent report and management plan, employee turnover report, annual plan and Emiratization plan and provide for the necessary skills and competency base to successfully realise the business plans.


Work closely with HC Business Partners and provide Department / Line Managers with background information for formulating short, medium and long term, workforce plans to fulfil workforce requirements and submit consolidated budget for final approval to contribute to the preparation of the budget for the function.


Collaborate with various functions in the HC department to ensure that the workforce planning results are integrated with other relevant HC processes i.e. talent and succession planning framework and in order to integrate current and future workforce with talent management and ready a future talent pipeline and succession plans to achieve TAQA’s objectives.


Lead cost impact analysis of workforce planning scenarios and sourcing options in order to provide senior management with the necessary information to make sound workforce planning decisions.


Assess initiatives that may impact workforce requirements like level of business operations and growth plans to develop a workforce impact analysis report.


Organizational Development


Conduct the periodical analysis and review of TAQA’s organization structure to determine the need to maintain, create, make redundant or reallocate any functions or roles, updating Job Families, Job Descriptions, Job Evaluations and Job Titling, in consultation with concerned business unit leaders and HC Business Partners, to ensure that it reflects the strategic and operational needs of TAQA.

JOB PURPOSE:


To manage the overall vendor and category management’s activities and processes pertaining to supply chain planning, category management and supplier management by providing advice and guiding the development and implementation of category-specific supply strategies, ensuring best suppliers for all products and services are specified and used to achieve maximum procurement value for the business.


 


Job Specific Accountabilities


Supply Chain Planning & Category Management


Develop TAQA’s short and long-term supply chain and category management strategy and plans and oversee the implementation to ensure alignment with TAQA’s strategy and business plans.


Develop an efficient supply chain and procurement cycle and process for TAQA to define a structural approach for provision of procurement services across the organization in a convenient and optimal way.


Manage and guide the benchmarking studies on procurement best practices by other organisations in order to support the continuous improvement agenda of the department.


Identify the common sourcing needs for the operating companies (OPCOs) and review BLs inputs and annual plans, and past category tree in order to optimize the sourcing process for TAQA.


Analyse current procurement and contract requirements to recommend improvement or cost reduction measures via innovative approaches in achieving economies of scale and long-term price agreements.


Review analysis reports on various internal demand across the OPCOs (e.g. spending patterns, end user specifications and current / future requirements, spend categories, etc.) to ensure thorough and detailed demand analysis generation to aid the development of strategic sourcing strategy and models.


Review the supplier analysis report by ensuring all criteria, factors and guidelines are taken into account in order to create an open and competitive environment to source for each category is established.


Work closely with all internal departments and BLs to ensure fulfilment of obligations by contractors and approve or reject requests for deviation from contract specifications to ensure adherence of suppliers to agreements and enhance the supply portfolio.


 


Vendor Management


Manage the identification of profitable suppliers and initiation of business and organization strategic partnerships to ensure favourable prices and services are provided to TAQA.


Ensure that the vendor and category management and procurement teams maintain positive working relationships with strategic suppliers to assure cost, quality and delivery targets are being met.


Develop and maintain an extensive database of suppliers and contractors for all categories to help in sourcing requirements in a timely and efficient manner.


Guide and manage the overall supplier management activities and processes, including the supplier registration and pre-qualification, supplier segmentation, supplier performance management, and integrate the analysis, outcomes in order to attain joint advantage and collaboration between TAQA and its suppliers.


Plan and manage the implementation of supplier performance management processes and activities, including supplier performance evaluations and the supplier development actions.


Work closely with the finance team to ensure the timely and accurate process of supplier payment.


Maintain productive relationships with key suppliers and follow up with them on issues escalated by internal teams in order to ensure timely order receipt and complaint resolution.


Effectively collaborate with the Procurement team in the process of supplier selection for any major and long-term contracts for TAQA, in collaboration with the business to ensure selection of the most beneficial suppliers at favourable terms for TAQA.


Continually update the supplier database based on the evaluations and feedback provided by the internal stakeholders and remain abreast with new suppliers in the market to ensure selection of the most appropriate and suitable suppliers and contractors for TAQA.
