Stantec is seeking a talented and motivated design professional to advance our architectural practice. The role of ICT ELV Design Engineer will involve a wide range of project types in support of our current, high profile client base.

Purpose:

To carry out the development of the functional designs of a project in line with Stantec’s Quality Standards, Client and Statutory Authority requirements

Responsibilities:

• Be responsible for all aspects of the ELV Design delivery on projects assigned to the individual.

• Communicates and coordinates with all Disciplines and Stakeholders daily

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise with Clients, Statutory Authorities, and other 3rd parties as required

• Demonstrates ownership qualities, for the team quality, and the timely delivery of projects

• Keeping all project-related documentation in compliance with Stantec systems, processes, and procedures

Interfaces & Communications:

Role resides within the Built Environment Design Division

Reports to Senior ELV Engineer for internal and project matters

Primary points of Contact include Design Division, Corporate Support, and Business Controls:

• Principal Engineer/Architect/Interior Designer/Landscape (project updates & advice)

• Other Engineers/Architects/Interior Designers/Landscape (project work coordination)

• Clients, Consultants, Statutory and Municipal Authorities, Contractors, and other 3rd parties.

• BIM/REVIT/AutoCAD Operators (Coordinate, Communicate, and Feedback on drawing preparations)

• BIM/REVIT/AutoCAD Managers (Advising Technicians’ development)

• BIM Manager(for technical ability and platform learning)

Title:

ICT ELV Design Engineer

Qualifications:

• Must be an Electrical, Electronics or Telecommunications Engineer or equivalent experience in the design and specification of Information technology systems and other Extra Low Voltage services within buildings.

• A discipline-specific design engineer with ICT /ELV bias in the field of Building Services Engineering

• Excellent communicator, both oral and written

• 8+ years of graduate experience (Minimum of four(4) within the Middle East region, preferably the UAE)

• Full understanding of standard industry software

• Experience working with International Consultants

• Must be SOE Registered

• Knowledge of CAD/BIM software like Revit MEP, Auto CAD

Job Description

At John Crane we are looking for two Turbomachinery Systems Field Service Engineers to support the gas seal system business globally by supporting the Sales & Aftermarket teams and Customers, specifically in Middle East & Africa region. The main function of this role is Field Service & Site support (Offshore and On Shore), additionally the role supports ITO Management (Inquiry to Order), Technical Sales, Techno-commercial proposals, Customer and Business Development, Site Training, and business reporting.

To manage and execute Turbomachinery projects within the scheduled timeframe and budget allocated.

The roles are based in Dubai, UAE and requires flexibility for local & international travel about 30%.

Duties & Responsibilities

Prospect and conduct site feasibility studies on the complete Turbomachinery portfolio related opportunities, including pursuing the necessary follow-up activities.

Provide customers with technical support and solutions, including field service, commissioning, troubleshooting, and training as may be required from time to time.

Maintain excellent service and build good rapport with customers and stakeholders.

Visit sites based on the customer request on breakdowns and attend service activities to meet and exceed customer expectations.

The individual shall support the sales / BDM team to develop a lead into opportunity by conducting site survey or customer visit for requirement analysis and provide tailored business and technical presentations.

Conduct sales and technical presentation (including on-site training) on Turbomachinery related products and to support existing business and identify new opportunities.

Liaise between Customer and various internal functions like engineering, supply chain, production, and product line department to offer engineered solutions as appropriate to the customer’s technical and commercial requirements.

Support sales and aftermarket team in developing commercial bid and offer necessary technical advice as required. Create and manage detailed technical and commercial proposals along with justifications for important (turnkey) projects

Manage and execute Dry Gas Seal & Support System First Fit (green Field) and Retrofit / Upgrade projects (Brown Filed) within the scheduled timeframe and budget allocated.

Support company’s Global Initiatives, Strategies, and New Product Development and Business Development. Point of contact for product line departments as Voice of the customer (VoC) and support in defining product outline if necessary.

As our new Head of Structures you will be part of Middle East Buildings Team and Ramboll is committed to building our business here in the Middle East and to improve our capture rate for projects in the region.

Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:

Responsible for leading a team of engineers involving:

Hold regular team meetings.

Establish and maintain effective working relationships with key clients and partners, potential key targets and ensure the delivery of a responsive and professional service

Undertake regular reviews of all key projects within own area of responsibility and proactively engage with clients and partners to gather feedback and deliver service improvement initiatives.

Have an understanding of our business plan, mission statement and key challenges.

Contribute to the overall leadership of Ramboll’s Middle East business, being a part of the Leadership Team which reviews performance and sets local strategy.

Liaise with client/design team/contractor/authorities.

Ensure QA policy and HSE requirements are satisfied.

Coordinate and liaise with all other design team members including architects and structural engineers plus client, project managers and QS.

Prepare drawings and calculations.

Check drawings / review calculations from Senior Engineers and Engineers.

Have some understanding of company financial indicators, principles of share scheme and options schemes in operation.

Agree design philosophy/design fundamentals.

Have a detailed knowledge of analytical concepts.

Have a good knowledge of concept design, buildability, detailed design, construction techniques, procurement routes, risk assessment and claim assessment.

Have a detailed knowledge of our delivery in BIM and relevant standards.

Contribute to the strategic direction of the business and play a key role in the development of the company procedures and by an active role in task groups.

Preparing client/project proposals for agreement

Negotiating fee proposals and requesting additional fees where possible

Qualifications

Qualification:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or a related field.

Chartered member of an internationally recognised professional body (e.g. ICE or IStructE)

High degree of technical competence in their field of building services design including proven ability to carry out both manual and computer aided calculations, problem solving, technical and financial analyses, etc.

Proven experience (20+ years) in structural engineering and building design, with a focus on complex projects.

Strong leadership and team management abilities.

Extensive knowledge of structural engineering principles, codes, and regulations.

Proficiency in structural design software and tools.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks.
