Job Purpose

Technical Product Owners (TPO) are the front door to the engineering teams, feeding team backlogs with work spread across feature, function, non functional (NFR), BAU, Technical Debt, spikes, and ceremonies. As a result, the TPO has to constantly juggle and prioritise the different types of work flowing into the team, making decisions in alignment with other TPO's, and ensuring they meet the objectives of the Program Increment (PI) The TPO acts as a voice of the customer/stakeholder, ensuring value is at the core of everything they do, and ensuring sufficient measurement can be achieved post delivery. Working closely with the Technical Product Managers and Technical Product Owners, the TPO consumes details of the prioritised Features, and translates them into the decomposed story definition for their teams.

Job Outline

- Responsible for the story content, acceptance criteria definition, and end story `sign off' across team backlogs, ensuring prepared on time for future PI's, refined frequently with the entire team, and prioritised accordingly in alignment with other team backlogs

- Ensures Technical Debt and NFR's are captured, refined, and prioritised across all sprints

- Captures additional BAU, Ceremony, and Spike activities, and incorporates into team backlogs, within the boundaries of available capacity

- Prepare contribution to PI demo, in conjuction with other applicable stakeholders

- Maintain the quality and integrity of features within their technical and team boundaries, ensuring identification and contribution of risks and dependencies back to the Product Portfolio backlog

- Attends and contributes to key Product Management meetings, in particular PI Planning

- Defines metrics to measure the success and performance of prioritised work, ensuring any further BAU iterations can be proposed and prioritised accordingly within the boundaries of available capacity

- Participates and contributes in growing a community of Product Owners, and continuously identify opportunities for improvement and growth.

- Contribute to the Portfolio Product Management Playbook and its continual evolution to help drive efficient practices and empowered teams.

- Working with your team(s) to identify and capture team driven innovation ideas, consolidating across peer group for playback up to TPM community

Qualifications & Experience

Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) :

 Degree in Operations Research, Marketing science, Information Systems, e-Commerce or a combination of industry certification and 12+ years of relevant experience.

Desirable: SAFE PO/PM, CSPO

Experience

2+ yrs practical experience of working as a Technical Product Owner in a `team facing' capacity, value and outcome focused with a proven record of driving discernible change and delivery, at pace. Driving the evolution of products/solutions for Airline Schedules Planning, Optimisation and Schedules Distribution, Slots Management, Network and Fleet Planning.

Desirable: Experience as Product Owner within a Scaled Agile framework. Experience owning/influencing the products for Airline Revenue Management and Pricing.

Knowledge/skills

JOB PURPOSE

 To design and support IT solution for Emirates Group. Working as part of design and support team. The Senior Technical Engineer will design, develop, support and deliver robust and cost-effective solutions for both business and IT-led initiatives including solution development and cost estimations, configuration and deployment and business case development and approval. JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES LINKED TO OBJECTIVE ARE

- Provide expert technical consultancy and guidance to Emirates Group IT dealing within the technology area and act as lead technical member in the project team delivering the work packages assigned.

- Develop IT solutions that meet customer requirements. Ensure that the design is robust, appropriate and of high quality and conforming to corporate standards and in line with the technical strategy.

- Ensure that the developed architecture/solution meets the service level requirements in terms of expected availability, capacity, continuity, security, performance and reliability.

- Collaborate with other Emirates Group IT Technology teams to implement ongoing monitoring of the relevant technology to ensure severity 1 & 2 incidents are configured within the monitoring systems.

- Collaborate with Emirates Group IT to identify and define standards and metrics on the relevant technology. Monitor current performance and to ensure appropriate levels of capacity, quality, service level and resources and solutions are optimally tuned.

- Provide guidance to project managers/technology managers for solution definition, technical design and development of in house developed solutions. These are to be delivered as per agreed costs and timescales to meet signed off functional, technical and process requirements.

- Ensure that assigned problems are defined and analysed in line with the problem management process. Ensure that solutions to problems meet the architectural and security standards within the technology area and impact to the business is minimised.

- Ensure that assigned incidents are resolved within the agreed service levels and where applicable, workarounds are provided to minimise business impact and own & manage changes within the technology area to ensure the least impact on the business.

- Publish and maintain high-quality documentation for the technology area. Working within the standard templates and documentation guidelines which includes detailed design, configuration details, support procedures, operations manuals and deployment architecture.

- Manage “End of Life” replacement of equipment and/or software within the technology area to ensure conformance to technical standards and support the technology initiatives and directions.
