Job Description

JOB PURPOSE:


To manage compliance-related matters for FAB’s Custody business within Global Corporate Finance, FAB’s investment banking arm within its Corporate and Investment Banking portfolio; ensuring that compliance programs are effective with respect to the Custody business in the United Arab Emirates, and across FAB’s Middle East and North African franchises

To provide compliance advisory support to Custody business management and staff to ensure compliance with prevailing rules, regulations and best practices. This role is a global role and jobholder will be responsible for overseeing Compliance programs for the Custody business in the international locations where FAB is present and custodian services are offered (principally across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and Egypt)


Qualifications

Minimum Qualification


Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant discipline

Compliance certifications are considered an asset

Minimum Experience


Minimum of 7 years of experience in a reputed bank or any financial institution, with direct exposure to investor services businesses and custody product offerings

Minimum of 5 years of experience in Compliance, with a demonstrably strong understanding Capital Markets Authority rules pertaining to custody products, as well and the underlying licensing and permissioning required to sell such products

Strong interpersonal, negotiation and facilitation skills

Robust project management and administrative skills

Team player, able to meet tight deadlines and manage challenging workload

Focused on driving tasks to completion with pace, whilst retaining a high level of attention to detail and accuracy

Qualifications

Minimum Qualification


Bachelor’s degree or higher in management, banking, finance, preferably with certification in compliance

Minimum Experience:


At least 10 years within a Compliance Surveillance/Monitoring role – including exposure to both Trade and Communication Surveillance


Project management exposure and evidence they have worked on projects to closure

Excellent worked experience of Market Abuse rules, regulations and cases

Good understanding of automated surveillance tools and platforms

Outstanding attention to detail

International mind-set

Willing to travel between Abu Dhabi and Dubai FAB offices

Confident, organized, can lead and manage various stakeholders

Good exposure to project and programme management

Advanced experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Strong analytical abilities, able to break down complex problems into simple manageable units, develops solutions for each unit, and integrates them back into the whole. Can absorb new concepts quickly and apply then pragmatically.

Results oriented, sets goals and priorities that maximize the use of resources available to consistently deliver quality results.

Ability to multi-task in a highly demanding environment and the ability reprioritize and shift assignments as necessary.

Strong interpersonal skills, a self-starter who can work independently

Excellent verbal, writing and presentation skills with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels

Qualifications
