Role Summary:


As a member of the Global Logistics Team, the Logistics Analyst oversees the fulfillment of logistics requirements for a multi-site area within a region. Responsible for the deployment and execution of site- specific logistics strategies, as well as maintaining an effective working relationship with key logistics providers to maximize Flowserve’s logistics capabilities and permanently enhance our customers’ order-to-delivery experience. The responsibilities include the onboarding of the logistics providers after participating in sourcing events. In his/her role, the Logistics Analyst will identify productivity enhancements that contribute to increased operational and financial performances and service improvements. An important part of the job for the Logistics Analyst is the regular data analysis on large data sets to assess the performance of the logistics system for the site(s) under his/her purview.


Responsibilities & Requirements:


Within the assigned region and for the site(s) under his/her responsibility, the selected candidate will:


Promote Flowserve’s culture for safety and integrity.


Implement processes and procedures in accordance with the global logistics vision and strategy to achieve the desired performance level.


Ensure adherence to global logistics policies and procedures as well as promote and provide training on said policies.


Assess regularly and communicate effectively the operational and financial performances of the site(s) under his/her purview (variance analysis, root-cause/counter measures analysis, performance to revenue, service levels.)


Prepare and facilitate the monthly business reviews showcasing spend, savings, lost opportunity spend and updates on site(s) performance.


Provide oversight of all transportation services and modes both international and domestic to assist the site(s) in achieving logistics expectations using the Logistics Data Repository and ERPs.


Conduct training as needed on all logistics requirements: project management, process improvement, negotiation, sourcing, metrics reporting, incoterms, "lost profit" and performance to revenue.


Participate to sourcing events that affect his/her site(s)/region from needs analysis to providers’ onboarding (Data collection, RFQ preparation, RFQ analysis, selection, implementation.)


Manage the escalation process to resolve logistics issues that affect site performances.


Ensure continuous improvement against the logistics key performance indicators (KPIs).


MAIN OBJECTIVES


Within the assigned area of responsibility, the selected candidate will:


Deliver on the annual cost reduction goals.


Work with site logistics teams to reduce lost opportunity spend through usage of Flowserve’s Authorized Vendor List (AVL) ensuring the routing guides are followed but also updated as needed.


Ensure any savings are managed and reported accurately and timely.


Demonstrate an enterprise mindset approach, contributing effort and ideas for the global supply chain team and support the global supply chain maturity growth.


Develop a strong cross-functional relationship between global logistics and site supply chain teams to enhance logistics knowledge and improve efficiencies across the enterprise


Manage the service and on time delivery of the logistics carriers and providers within his/her assigned region.


Maintain current site organizational contact list, including logistics, supply chain, and finance


What you need for this job:


Min college degree (BA) or equivalent work experience with minimum 3 years in similar logistics experience


Ability to analyze data with BI applications.


Fluent spoken and written capabilities in English and Dutch.


Familiarity with ERP applications such as SAP, Oracle, Ariba.


Strong analytical skills


Strong organizational, communication, process definition capabilities.


Ability to perform Responsibilities and Accountabilities independently


Ability to travel up to 20% of the time


Preferred Experience / Skills:


Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)


Ability to understand and utilize analytical applications and BI tools.


Project management and Implementation skills.


Establish credibility and ensure effective efficient logistics solutions.

Job Purpose


Tax Analyst will be an integral part of the Retail Tax department in assisting Tax Manager Retail on day-to-day compliance and advisory (basic) issues relating to VAT and other prevailing taxes across GCC.  Predominantly safeguarding the high standard of tax compliance by ensuring tax policies and processes are adhered to in accordance local tax laws, tax returns are submitted on time and compliance standards maintained.


Strategic Roles and Responsibilities


Assist Regulatory Accounting &Tax Manager in ensuring an efficient and effective Tax process flow in the organization.

Functional Roles and Responsibilities


Preparation, completion and submission of  VAT/Tax (and equivalent) and withholding tax returns to Tax Manager Retail for the review within the filing deadlines and in compliance with the local tax law;

Assist variance analysis of the VAT/Tax returns on a monthly basis – keeping up to date reports.

Payments and submissions – keeping records of all the returns submitted.

Assist Tax Manager Retail in coordination with BU Finance teams to manage efficient tax processes ensuring compliance with local laws and accounting standards;  (review of VAT/Tax assessments, VAT/Tax payments, VAT/Tax refunds, audits, etc)

Follow up erroneous account receivable/ payable entries Interact with Business/ FSS/ Accountants and other internal stakeholders to ensure these are in compliance with prevailing laws

Keep up to date with new laws/ guidance and updates released by FTA; determining the impact on compliance processes and relevant changes

Support Tax Manager Retail in development & implementation of any new VAT/Tax principles released by the FTA

Providing input from a compliance perspective into the development of company policies.

Support Tax Manager Retail in managing tax audits and assist in the coordination of appeals/ reconsideration requests ensuring all data is compiled to support tax positions taken.

Optimize tax efficiencies in all end to end processes

Liaise with IT teams (and other relevant stakeholders) to resolve process / compliance/ reporting issues

Cooperate with other functions and provide support by answering VAT/Tax related queries

Education/Certification and Continued Education


Degree level – essential

Accounting skills –partly/ fully qualified; CA, ACCA, CIMA, CFA, etc.

Years of Experience


3 years’ experience in Accounting plus 1-2 years in VAT/Tax function ideally within Middle East

Knowledge of GCC tax regulations  is an advantage

Data analytics experience (working with large data)

Knowledge and Skills
