Projects Head – Turnkey Grid Control Business (MEA), Kuwait

About the Role
We are looking for a seasoned and results-driven leader to head the Turnkey Grid Control business—with a primary focus on telemetry and communications—across the Middle East & Africa (MEA) region. This role is accountable for shaping and executing the regional strategy while ensuring the successful delivery of fully localized turnkey projects within the region.
The position holder will oversee end-to-end project execution, drive operational excellence, and build strong, long-term relationships with customers and key stakeholders. Leading a diverse, high-performing technical team, you will work in close alignment with global functions to deploy advanced Grid Control solutions that enable the digital transformation of power utilities across MEA.
Key Responsibilities:
Our ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise in Grid Control systems—such as Spectrum Power 7—combined with proven leadership experience in managing multidisciplinary technical teams and delivering complex solution-based projects in a regional environment. Here are tasks and responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & General Management
Implement and execute the regional Grid Control strategy in alignment with global objectives.Own P&L performance for the MEA Grid Control business, ensuring revenue growth and project profitability.Drive execution performance and achieve utilization targets across regional resources.Support business development activities in assigned countries and priority markets.Global Standards & Regional Capability
Deliver global-standard products and solutions while effectively leveraging regional capabilities.Expand business opportunities through lifecycle services, upgrades, and recurring turnkey offerings.Business Development & Customer Engagement
Engage with senior customer stakeholders to secure contractual commitments.Drive lifecycle business growth through recurring service, modernization, and upgrade solutions.Stakeholder Management
Align internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth and efficient project execution.Collaborate closely with Sales and global functions including Business Management (BM), PMO, PLM, and Service.Operational Excellence & Project Delivery
Ensure successful delivery of the Solutions (SOL) portfolio in compliance with global standards.Act as executive sponsor for key strategic customers.Deliver projects on time, within budget, and to high quality standards.Support the bid and tender process, including independent handling of service offers below €500k.Team Leadership & Capability Development
Plan and allocate resources for bids, project execution, and service delivery.Build, lead, and develop a high-performing regional team.Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.Market Intelligence & Representation
Monitor market trends, regulatory developments, and competitive dynamics.Represent the company at industry events, customer forums, and professional networks.Qualifications & Skills – Digital and Solid:
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (preferred) or similar technical discipline.Strong general management capability, including P&L ownership, strategic planning, and leadership.Deep understanding of power utility automation and digital transformation.Proven experience in turnkey services for substation automation, preferably covering:Communication systemsCybersecurityRTUsTele-protection technologiesIntegration of HV/MV substations with control centersStrong customer engagement and negotiation skills at senior levels, including EPC-based business models within the utility sector.Demonstrated people management experience leading technical and multidisciplinary teams.Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate across regions and global functions.Fluency in Arabic and English is absolute must for this role.

Job PurposeDevelop and maintain teslam annual business plan and performance reporting framework to ensure regular reporting on business plan progress, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and budgeting. 
Key Activities, Responsibility & AccountabilityResponsibility:   • Prepare and maintain the annual overarching TESLAM strategy and annual business plan, and develop issue/ topic/ situation specific strategies, as required. • Prepare TESLAM quarterly plan, including an overview of planned and upcoming TESLAM activities and deliverables. • Participate in defining accountability and responsibility for every item within business plan for easy tracking and defining the dependencies of business planning items with other corporate functions. • Incorporate TESLAM business plan items and performance indicators in the business planning system in line with the approved TESLAM business plan and performance indicators (PIs). • Prepare and maintain TESLAM annual corporate Demand Plan as per the corporate business and budget plans. • Participate in developing discipline-specific strategies for key customers of the TESLAM process and maintain the effectiveness of the TESLAM Demand Planning tool. 
Responsibilities & Accountabilities (contd.) Review and submit TESLAM Performance Report in timely manner and present KPI results to the Head of Facility Strategic Planning. • Analyze TESLAM performance indicators data and trends and identify significant issues and potential concerns requiring TESLAM management action or further study • Participate in management review sessions to assess and monitor TESLAM performance, tactical plans and initiate actions for improvements.
 
Review and submit TESLAM budget utilization report on monthly basis in alignment with the approved budget and budget dashboard. • Assess current and future outsourcing contracts, ensuring their alignment with the enterprise facilities strategy. • Develop the scope of work for future outsourcing contracts ensuring their alignment with the enterprise facilities strategy and needs. • Develop and implement market research plans and relationships to market research suppliers/partners. • Develop market intelligence system within the facilities supply market across the portfolio of products and services procured. • Conduct TESLAM benchmarking and self-assessment initiatives to meet management and end-users expectations. • Issue Condition Reports (CRs) through the e-CAP system for major issues to document the status of TESLAM related correction actions. • Maintain relationship with vendors and contractors responsible for providing services and build high levels of trust and understanding with key internal and external stakeholders, to promote full compliance with industry regulations and promote broader understanding of the corporate interests and practices.

The Partnership Manager, Middle East is responsible for sourcing, managing, and expanding data partnerships across Middle Eastern oil and gas markets. The role requires proven regional experience and an established network across terminals, port agents, regional ship agents, and ship brokers. Deep market knowledge is essential to build trust with opaque data providers and to navigate local language, cultural, and regulatory barriers.
This role proactively sources new data, strengthens existing partnerships, and enhances responsiveness to partner needs. The manager owns the operational management of regional data sources and plays a critical role in improving data coverage, reliability, and differentiation in markets where visibility remains patchy.Key ResponsibilitiesManage and develop existing regional partnerships, maintaining regular check-ins to ensure timely, reliable data delivery and strong partner engagement, with support from the Partnerships Data & Success Manager where required.Source and onboard new data partners across all commodities in the Middle East, leveraging regional expertise and established networks to expand data coverage and depth.Represent the company at local and regional industry events, staying informed on market developments, strengthening relationships, and identifying new data and partnership opportunities.Share regional market insights and challenges with the wider Partnerships team, proposing creative and practical solutions to address data gaps, regulatory constraints, or operational issues.Collaborate closely with local Sales teams to track commercial opportunities, understand the competitive landscape, and align partnership efforts with customer needs.Action and support Data Operations critical requests, ensuring timely follow-up and coordination to maintain data quality and continuity.Deliver platform demonstrations and updates for existing and prospective partners, showcasing new services and reinforcing the value of collaboration.Proactively resolve partner queries and issues, gathering feedback and sharing insights internally to improve data delivery, partner experience, and product development.Required Experience & BackgroundProven experience working in commodity and shipping markets, with a strong focus on oil, gas, or related energy commodities.Demonstrated experience in data sourcing through partnerships, including identifying, negotiating, and managing data providers.Established regional network across terminals, port agents, ship agents, ship brokers, or logistics providers.Strong understanding of shipping operations, cargo movements, and trade flows, and how these translate into market intelligence data.Experience managing ongoing partner relationships, including data delivery, issue resolution, and performance oversight.Ability to operate effectively in opaque or fragmented data environments, navigating language, cultural, and regulatory barriers.Required Skills & CompetenciesStrong relationship-building and trust-based engagement with external partners in opaque markets.Proactive, business development mindset with the ability to identify and pursue new opportunities.Clear and effective communicator, able to translate market insights into actionable internal inputs.Collaborative approach, working effectively across Partnerships, Sales, Product, and Data Operations.High level of ownership and accountability for regional outcomes.Adaptable and resilient, able to navigate ambiguity, cultural differences, and changing market conditions.Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Economics, Business, Maritime Studies, Shipping, Supply Chain, or a related discipline.3–5 years’ experience in the commodities, shipping, logistics, or market intelligence industry.

This role requires a knowledgeable and experienced business professional to work with a highly experienced business development team that is constantly driving an increase in HID Global’s image and sales opportunities within the Top 100 enterprises in selected industries per region.  The actions of this position will result in expanding HID footprint to emerging regions where end user touch had not been executed.Coherent and consistent project acquisitions where HID Global will act as the “Trusted Advisor” to both the End-user and Influencer communitiesCreating pull-through sales value to the supply channel for HID Global’ s products and services with focus on Global Business Area of Physical Access Control Solutions and its Strategic Growth Initiatives.The region where these activities are foreseen is MEA. Successful candidates will be able to scope outgrowth verticals and solution scope required for the region in access control. The professional shall feel at home being “voice of HID” in front of C level people, senior managers, decision makers and convey relevant message with the team. As our End User Business Manager MEA, you’ll support HID’s success by: 
Identify, prioritize, schedule, pursue, and deliver strategic Key End-user sales and project opportunities for target fulfillmentUnderstand the business models and business priorities of the Key End-user accounts as it relates to security,Build long term relationship thru direct and indirect touch,Advise and schedule the deployment of required Key End-user programs to address individual End-user needs,Cooperate with and coordinate company internal vertical business development, consultant business teams and technical resources to effectively communicate the expansion / transition to future technology.Provide educational/awareness briefings for End-users to reinforce HID Global’s role as “Trusted Advisor”,Use of innovative marketing tools to nurture this relationship,Orchestrate Key End-user seminars to better understand the required features & functions of future technologies, Deliver Key End-user presentations during “face to face” introductory meetings,Attend applicable industry tradeshows, meetings and other HID internal and external events, especially with focus on speaking and presentation opportunityMaintain a high degree of product knowledge, more on the spectrum/benefit/road map level and represent region’s status, requirements and asks to larger Physical Access Control Solutions organizationProvide timely and accurate monthly status report of group activities and progress using SFDC,Cooperate with vertical marketing for end user focused tools: Development of whitepapers, brochures, web presence, speaker engagements, end user events, dedicated list procurement and lead nurturing 
Qualifications: -
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Familiar with Physical Access Control, IoT, Software-as-a-Service models, strong enterprise software experience, and an understanding of information technology
Minimum 10+ years’ experience in driving new business within access control and a cloud-based platform and services organization in a role that required external-facing engagement with end users/partners.Very solid knowledge base and network of End Customers in the territory.Formal experience to carry Vertical Knowledge.Physical Access Control Solution expertise is a plusDeep experience in SaaS, Applications, Software Services industry with understanding of key partner business drivers and ecosystemAn analytical, data driven approach to making decisions and choosing directionMust have strong written and verbal skills with the ability to lead presentationsCapable of establishing credibility with sales force and customersStrong leadership skills with cultural sensitivity and experience in influencing diverse teamsAbility to think critically and creatively and to contribute in a team environment
