What’s On Your Plate?

Develop deep domain knowledge of your squad's product area and team up with your manager to solve the toughest problems.

Design for you isn’t just pretty interfaces - you’ll spend a lot more time understanding the problem space through generative research, synthesizing insights, running ideation sessions/workshops to design a delightful customer experience.

Minimize assumptions in your design process.

Work with the PM to define your focus areas and contribute to the overall direction of your product area while measuring ongoing improvement

Get continuous feedback from the users through different stages of the problem solving process.

Create simple, elegant solutions to complex interaction problems with high attention to details

Help facilitate cross-functional, collaborative workshops focused on achieving desired outcomes, such as generating ideas, soliciting feedback, or building consensus.

Use and evolve our design system to design flows, prototypes, sketches, and high-fidelity visuals for your features.

Think in terms of scalable systems, not just one-off solutions.

Use a variety of metrics to evaluate and continuously improve the user experience.

Continuously improve design processes, knowledge, and tools to measurably enhance productivity and product quality.

Regularly present your work to peers, stakeholders and leaders for review and feedback.

What Did We Order?

Minimum 3-5 years of full time UX & UI design experience in an agile consumer-focused, high-performance organization.

An effective problem solver (advance knowledge of frameworks such as double diamond, design thinking) with the experience in partnering with Product Managers to develop the strategy and rationale for features.

Minimum 2-3 years of experience in researching with users using various qualitative and quantitative research methods.

Advanced knowledge of design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Invision, Zeplin, etc.

An outstanding portfolio, showcasing your thought process and an advanced understanding of user experience.

A track record of shipping top-notch design, and an understanding of what details matter at each stage of the release cycle.

Knowledge of validating hypotheses through qualitative and quantitative data.

Deep thinker and natural communicator who clearly articulates design decisions and tells compelling stories that inspire action.

Ability to manage multiple work streams in an agile, fast-paced, changing environment.

Humble, curious and open-minded with a growth mindset who thrives on continuous feedback and learning.

Preferably a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts/Design/Marketing/Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Multimedia graphics/Computer Sciences.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Independently determines project scope, develops a preliminary plan of investigation, and determines project specifications such as cost, time, and sample requirements by analyzing client input, available supplemental data, and product construction.

Projects may include frequent travel to conduct or witness tests at client sites.

Initiates communication with clients to promote and explain the benefits of new and existing services.

Follows up on contacts from clients.

Communicates with clients to discuss technical issues, explain UL procedures and requirements, convey project cost, and negotiate completion date and sample requirements.

Acts to address client concerns and to resolve client issues.

Provides technical assistance to clients in reference to product inspection and follow-up services.

Establishes appropriate test programs by reviewing files and manufacturer's information, examining samples, and applying UL requirements.

Notifies client of any areas in which the product is not in compliance with UL requirements or of any changes in project scope or specifications.

Coordinates laboratory activities by preparing data sheets and instructions to technicians, scheduling and reviewing work of Laboratory Technicians and support staff and establishing completion dates.

Coordinates administrative aspects of project management.

Serves as Project Handler of record and may sign as Reviewer of record as assigned.

Communicates project status and results to clients through frequent contact and by preparing reports.

Integrates continuous improvement concepts and techniques into all aspects of the job.

Resolves engineering issues associated with Variation Notices by analyzing and reporting on the acceptability of the variations.

Proposes development of new and/or revised UL requirements.

Coordinates and/or performs File Reviews.

May represent UL at industry related functions such as seminars and trade shows.

May train office, field, and/or laboratory staff and entry-level engineers.

Provides technical assistance to laboratory and/or field staff.

Read and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct and follow all physical and digital security practices.

Performs other duties as directed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Create needs assessments.

Coordinate plans with clients and internal teams.

Plan and supervise tests.

Evaluate the certifiability of customer products.

Meeting deadlines, costs and scope of customer projects.

Maintain documentation and adhere to procedures and processes.

Regular reporting to superiors.

Advise customers and colleagues on specific issues.

Willingness to self-reflect, optimize processes and procedures.

Responsible and respectful interaction with customers and colleagues.

Willingness to travel for duty.

Responsible for Clients in MEA

Currently based out of Dubai, UAE

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in engineering, Engineering Technology (e.g. Security- and Safety Engineer) plus minimum one year directly related work experience.

Detailed knowledge of the technical vocabulary common to the appropriate discipline.

Working knowledge of conformity standards in use in area of expertise.

Demonstrated ability to apply project-handling concepts in use in area of expertise.

Mandatory experience in Fire Suppression

Key Responsibilities

Directs and coordinates Security Personnel, ensuring Seamless Operations while delivering an exceptional Guest and FIVE Tribe Member experience.

Liaises with Government and Law Enforcement agencies, fostering Strong Relationships and coordinating efforts to maintain the highest standards of security.

Organises Patrols of the property's boundary areas, bedrooms, offices, storage areas, and public spaces, employing a ‘FIVE-Star’ approach to ensure a Safe Environment.

Collaborates with FIVE’s Group Director of Security on critical matters, embracing the sensational Security Team's vision and adhering to local Safety Regulations and Emergency Procedures.

Maintains open Communication and cultivates Remarkable Relationships across all hotel areas, embodying the ‘Vibe at FIVE’ throughout all interactions.

Coordinates additional security personnel for conference and banqueting functions, curating a Next-Level Security Experience.

Assist the hotel in complying with local Fire Safety and Safety Legislation, showcasing Unwavering Commitment to ensuring the Compliance of the Security Department is Top Notch.

Conducts Comprehensive Tours to prevent fire hazards, ensures safe means of escape, and maintains a high level of security throughout the property.

Investigates thefts discreetly and reports incidents with a delicate and tactful approach, informing Local Authorities where appropriate.

Collaborates with the Group Director of Security on the implementation of Company Policies and Guides, exhibiting Industry-Leading Expertise.

Directs and coordinates Security Personnel, leveraging exquisite skills and knowledge to implement cutting-edge safety and security procedures and provide assistance to other Departments.

Prepares detailed Incident Reports and Monthly Security Reports, showcasing meticulous Attention to Detail that matches FIVE's Award-Winning Reputation.

Liaises with Department Heads to ensure all FIVE Tribe Members are aware of their security responsibilities.

Plans, delivers, and facilitates regular FIVE Tribe Awareness Training, promoting a culture of continuous learning and ensuring that the FIVE Tribe remains at the forefront of all Security Practises.

Demonstrates a thorough understanding of Company terrorist procedures, conveying this knowledge to FIVE Tribe Members and aligning it with FIVE’s First-in-Class approach to Security.

Displays in-depth knowledge of hotel Fire and Emergency Procedures, embracing the FIVE Tribe's instinctive ability to adapt and respond swiftly to critical situations.

Manages Key Control across all Departments, instilling confidence in FIVE's premium Security Measures and maintaining the highest standards.

Addresses any FIVE Tribe misconduct promptly and effectively, ensuring that eating, drinking, or smoking within Guest rooms and public areas is Strictly Prohibited.

Embraces the role of an assistant in the esteemed Fire Brigade Team, delivering Next-Level support during critical situations and contributing to the FIVE Tribe's visionary approach to safety.

Collaborate with other departments, such as Banquets, Culinary, and Beverage, to coordinate and deliver exceptional experiences for clients.

 

What We’re Looking For

Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Security Management, or a related industry.

A minimum of 4-5 years' experience leading a security department in a resort/ hotel.

Possession of a valid Security Manager License through UAE authority SIRA is mandatory. Any additional training or certifications related to security will be considered a plus.

Utmost Confidentiality and the ability to manage Confidential Information in a discreet manner, adhering to strict privacy and data protection protocols.

Extensive knowledge of Security Protocols and Procedures, this includes a comprehensive understanding of industry best practises, threat assessment, risk management, emergency response, and incident reporting.

A strong understanding of UAE Laws, and Health and Safety Regulations.

Computer literacy, with a mastery of Word, Excel, and Outlook.

A welcoming and enthusiastic nature to elevate the ‘Vibe at FIVE.’

A Proactive Nature, coupled with a meticulous Eye for Detail, ensuring every aspect of the Operation is curated to perfection.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, leveraging strong verbal and written skills to engage effectively with Guests, FIVE Tribe Members, and stakeholders.

Next-Level Organisational and Leadership skills, effectively leading and inspiring the FIVE Tribe to New Heights.
