Job summary

The Quality Engineer provides quality assurance of the civil works for all the project’s scope by physical inspection. The aim of these inspections is to ensure that the work is carried out in accordance with all specifications, standards and codes applicable. If deficiencies are discovered, the inspector makes suggestions to help the Construction Company determine how to meet the requirements.

 

Job Description

Prepare Inspection Test Plan for Civil activities

Review Method statement for Construction and Testing activities

Checks the preparation of foundations

Checks the correct preparation of reinforcements

Checks the certifications regarding element mixes. LASTM test, chemical analysis, grain size analysis

Monitors atmospheric conditions during pouring operations

Monitors correct curing operations

Checks the sampling operations (when required)

Reviews the laboratory examination results

Checks sub-grade dry density

Checks moisture content

Checks compression strength test

In-situ density of compacted Material (Compaction Test)

Checks after execution of costing

Checks after concrete pouring

Checks Concrete Compressive Strength (7 days and 28 Days)

Checks materials quality (wire, fitting etc.)

Foundation and anchor bolt verification

Verifies special processes and the relevant workers’ qualifications

Orderly collect, check and manage documents certifying tests, controls and inspections carried out witnessing the tests, controls and inspections carried out

Check the conformity with the Quality Control Plan and obtain the relevant documentation

Check the documents certifying the tests, controls and inspections carried out

Ensure the correct implementation of the approved Inspection Test Plan according to Clients requirements

 

Qualifications and Experience:

Years of experience required: 5+ years of Oil and Gas Industry related QA/QC supervisory position.

Previous experience of supervision of multi discipline Project support teams

Experience of working on major Civil works projects with oil and gas involvement

Technical qualification (Bachelor of Science / Diploma or bachelor’s in engineering - Civil)

Fluency in English

The Company

The Role

The Senior Manager Finance role is a central function of the business. As a key centralized department, this role oversees the smooth financial operations of numerous departments and brands in different locations, to ensure key commercial objectives are achieved on time in the most efficient manner.

Complete management of the Finance function on a centralized basis. This includes setting out, implementing and updating finance policies and processes that reflect the needs of the growing business lines.

A keen understanding of the company ERP system (SAGE) to manage both finance and procurement for the businesses, ensuring risks are managed prudently. This includes managing and setting up the approved Authority Matrix on the system.

Ensure the integration of the ERP and CRM work seamlessly.

Oversight of each financial module: Receivables and Collections, Payables, General Ledger, Balance Sheet schedules, Fixed Assets, Liabilities and loan schedules Intercompany balances

Ensure employee data is accurately and appropriately reflected in the financial statements, with on-going management of provisioning policies in compliance with employment contracts and Labour Law

Management of the annual budgeting process across the organization.

Compliance with all tax requirements (VAT, Corporate Tax), all system to be tax compliant and ensure reporting to Tax Authorities is accurate and prompt.

Management Reporting: Monthly and quarterly reporting by department and by each legal entity, highlighting any potential risks.

Monthly financial forecasting with every department to ensure the organization is on track to meet budget; more frequent updates from revenue- generating departments.

Analyse foreseeable financial risks and prepare risk mitigation plan to ensure the company is able to meet its financial commitments.

Cashflow management on a monthly basis

Ensure collections (from lease revenue, events, sponsorship, consulting) are on track. Risks to be escalated.

On going risk management to ensure the interests of the company are protected at all times. This includes contract reviews with Compliance and on-going training of the teams to understand financial risks.

Prepare financial feasibilities for any new business idea/proposition to assess its return / investment risk to the company.

The Candidate

Educated to a Master's degree level or equivalent in Finance/Accounting

Professional certification in Finance (Chartered Accountant or CFA)

8-10 years' experience in the Finance function, with at least 4 years in the capacity of a Senior Manager.

Experience with managing a team of at least 3 direct reports.

Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team

Ability to develop positive, cooperative relationships across functional boundaries.

An analytical mindset to be able to understand financials and deliver a clear message to stakeholders in a simple and transparent manner.

Strong understanding of business fundamentals and drivers of financial, service and operational success

High levels of attention to detail.

Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to effectively convey complex ideas.

Self-Motivated, with the ability to work within an ambiguous constantly changing environment

Sound project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects at once while ensuring highest quality execution possible within deadlines.

Role Purpose:

The Manager, Design Management is a valuable member of The Design Studio (DS) Design Management Team and reports directly to the Senior Design Manager. This role primarily involves overseeing Majid Al Futtaim Properties' community developments, mixed-use projects, and the redevelopment of existing shopping malls and hotels.

The Design Manager collaborates closely with an in-house team of designers and external consultant teams to ensure the delivery of designs that align with project briefs, budgets, and timelines. There is a particular emphasis on maintaining design integrity from concept to delivery. Furthermore, this position places significant importance on effectively managing both internal and external stakeholders.

As a custodian of the overall design, the Design Manager plays a pivotal role in advancing MAF initiatives related to sustainability, digital design, and innovation, all in alignment with MAFP's Net Zero target.

 

Role Details – Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Project Leadership: Lead design projects, representing DS in stakeholder meetings, providing design expertise, managing the linear design process, and guiding internal and external design teams.

Design Brief: Create a design brief and deliver designs that align with business-wide strategic initiatives, respond to the Development Brief, and prioritize first-to-asset products.

Design Package Management: Manage design packages, provide clear directions, efficient decision-making, and sign-off from internal stakeholders while ensuring alignment with the original design brief and deliverables.

Design Standards: Assist in project reviews in line with Majid Al Futtaim Design Standards.

Collaboration: Liaise with Design Studio Creative and Technical teams for timely design documentation reviews.

Scope and Deliverables: Create deliverables and scope of work aligned with the Design Brief, considering the design team structure and procurement strategy.

Functional Plans: Lead the production of functional plans with a strong understanding of layout principles.

Residential Design Expertise: Leverage expertise in residential design to ensure that design projects meet the highest standards of functionality, aesthetics, and user experience.

Mixed-Use Design: Understand master planning and mixed-use asset designs, achieving the right balance and emphasizing product uniqueness.

Materials and Site Management: Review materials selections, control mockup sign-off and on-site implementations, propose solutions and monitor site issues with observation reports.

Contractor Collaboration: Review contractors' shop drawings, anticipate issues, provide effective solutions, and manage mockup reviews and sign-off in coordination with the site team.

Technical Communication: Present design proposals in a technically sound and persuasive manner.

Cross-Functional Alignment: Ensure alignment and delivery of projects with other business functions.

Stakeholder Updates: Consistently update project progress for all stakeholders.

Alignment and Sign-Off: Ensure consistent alignment and sign-off from all relevant parties.

Presentation Quality: Maintain high-quality presentation standards to meet international norms.

Compliance: Ensure compliance with the Majid Al Futtaim Code of Conduct, Departmental policies, and HC Policies and Procedures at all times.

Design Standards Enhancement: Enhance the Design Standards content to encompass high-level principles and lessons learned.

Program and Cost Adherence: Adhere to project schedules and costs, and develop time-saving and design program efficiency initiatives.

Advocacy: Advocate and embody MAFP values within The Design Studio, ensuring adherence and consistent exhibition.

Leadership by Example: Lead by example, fostering an honest and collaborative work environment that promotes teamwork and passion for common business objectives.

 

Functional/Technical Competencies:

Leadership in Complex Projects: Proven experience in leading, managing, and motivating design teams and stakeholders on large and complex projects.

Residential and Mixed-Use Expertise: Demonstrated experience in successfully delivering residential and mixed-use developments, showing a strong understanding of the unique challenges and requirements.

Project Expertise: Strong knowledge of key project processes, including design standards, management, construction processes, procurement, and tendering, ensuring successful project execution.

BIM/Revit Proficiency: Proficiency in IT skills, particularly with BIM and Revit platforms, to facilitate modern and efficient design practices.

Effective Communication: Exceptional communication skills with a talent for influencing and engaging stakeholders, fostering productive collaborations.

Previous experience working directly with clients or developers is considered an additional advantage.
