Job Description

Scope:

The Group IT Accountant is responsible for managing the financial operations of the Group IT department. This role involves financial planning, budget management, cost analysis, and financial reporting to optimize the allocation of IT resources and support strategic IT initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Planning and Budgeting:

Collaborate with GCIO and IT leadership to develop and manage the IT department's annual budget, and IT costs Chargeback model and ensure alignment with the Group's strategic goals.

Monitor and control IT expenditures, providing insights on budget variances.

Defining the structure of the IT cost chargeback model for all IT-related costs which results in a fair cost allocation to each group entity.

Ensure the IT costs chargeback model is regularly maintained to incorporate any variations in the actual costs incurred and when any new IT services/costs are introduced.

Cost Analysis:

Conduct detailed cost analysis of GIT projects, services, and initiatives to identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize resource allocation.

Provide financial guidance on the prioritization of IT investments.

Ensure complete transparency of project-by-project budgeted costs/income vs. actual costs/income together with any deviation reporting to the CIO.

Financial Reporting:

Prepare and distribute regular financial reports for the GIT and senior management, including monthly income statements, budget vs. actual cost analysis, and cost trend reports.

Provide framework/guidelines regarding capturing the IT-related costs and income in SAP to enable proper financial analysis, reporting, and planning of IT Dept. costs.

Ensure complete transparency of project-by-project budgeted costs/income vs. actual costs/income together with any deviation reporting to CIO; preparation of IT Department monthly P&L.

Close coordination of IT vendors accounts team for pending invoices and ensure recording of invoices in SAP/VIM with correct VAT tax code.

Prepare monthly Debit Notes (DNs) in SAP and distribute monthly Chargeback statements to all entities, obtain their confirmation, and coordinate with entities in case of any issues/clarification.

Highlight key financial metrics and insights to support decision-making.

Forecasting:

Develop financial forecasts for IT expenditures, enabling proactive management of financial resources.

Identify potential financial risks and opportunities.

Vendor Management:

Collaborate with IT procurement and vendor management teams to negotiate contracts and pricing with technology vendors.

Follow up with Group Supply Chain dept. on timely creation of purchase orders against pending/open purchase requisitions and review old open purchase orders.

Monthly review of GR/IR account and coordinate with IT staff for timely Goods Receipt Note booking in SAP as per ESAG policies.

Close coordination of IT vendors accounts team for pending supplier invoices.

Monitor vendor performance and adherence to contract terms.

IT Project Financial Management:

Track and report on the financial performance of IT projects, including capital and operational expenses.

Ensure that IT projects are delivered within budget.

Calculating the expected vs. actual ROI on any new IT projects and communication of the same to the CIO and group entities management.

Compliance and Risk Management:

Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and company policies within the IT department.

Identify and mitigate financial risks associated with IT operations.

IT Asset Management:

Oversee the financial aspects of IT asset management, including hardware and software inventory, including the following:

Asset Tagging

Periodic physical verification

Asset Creations in SAP as per ESAG policies

Ensure timely IT assets capitalization in SAP

Write-off of Assets in SAP as per ESAG policies.

Optimize asset utilization and lifecycle management.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Collaborate with CF, IT teams, entities, and other departments to align financial goals with IT initiatives.

Facilitate effective communication and cooperation among stakeholders.

Respond to the Group Tax team for any VAT-related query.

Provide support to the HO Accounts team regarding any IT-related query during external and internal.

Coordinate with Accounts Payable team/ Treasury Team for over-due payments to IT vendors, if any

Desired Candidate Profile

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is a plus.

Proven experience in financial management, with a focus on IT financial analysis and reporting.

Strong knowledge of financial principles, accounting standards, and financial regulations.

Experience working in SAP.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Effective communication and interpersonal abilities for working with cross-functional teams.

Attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy while meeting deadlines.

Strong business acumen and strategic thinking.

Overview

Today, we are looking for an experienced revenue accountant based in Dubai.

As a Revenue Accountant at IDC, you will be responsible for revenue accounting of 5 IDC MEA legal entities, ensuring correct and proper display of revenues in the full chain from order to final invoicing, including accrued and deferred revenue management. Your reporting Manager is also Dubai-based.

Responsibilities

Processing data entry for new orders,

Monitoring financial aspects in contracts / sales orders (wherever applicable) to ensure billing is in line with agreed contracts,

Contacting sales managers to obtain missing information,

Maintaining monthly sales and revenue reports,

Setting up new customers in the accounting system,

Ensuring customers are billed currently and in time,

Billing invoices and credit notes,

Submitting client invoices (wherever applicable) through email/ the client portal,

Sending bill reminders, collecting due accounts,

Processing Revenue Recognition,

Managing Accounts Receivable collections in the region,

Solving collection issues with sales managers,

Reconciling revenues & costs for project budgets,

Preparing accounts receivable aging and collection forecast,

Processing accounts reconciliations and confirmations,

Additional ad hoc requests as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor degree in accounting or similar Accounting courses/accreditations,

At least 3 years of experience in billing/accounts receivable positions,

Strong oral, verbal and written communication skills in English,

Working knowledge of ERP software, preferable experience in Microsoft Dynamics,

Proficiency with MS Office package, Excel in particular,

Solid organizational and multitasking skills,

Attention to detail and ability to prioritize,

Client service oriented with the ability to build strong positive team relationships,

Basic knowledge of Revenues, A/R accounting principles and E-invoicing will be considered as an advantage,

Similar experience of working in an international environment will be an advantage.

Job Purpose: 

Design and develop Talent & Development solutions to elevate performance and accelerate potential. Consult with T&D SMEs to design and develop resources to deliver performance support to the business. Provide expert design and development skills to wider Alshaya capability teams.

Accountabilities (but not limited to):

Define business outcomes by consulting with key stakeholder:

Consult with stakeholders to diagnose needs and define organizational outcomes that are required

Identify the required behavior change and expected outcomes for the business/learner and external customer

Identify learning objectives tied to desired customer behavior outcomes

Recommend the learning modality solving for learner experience, customer behavior outcome goals, and organizational goals.

Design the complete experience:

Collaborate with other SME, Stakeholders, graphic designers, technology stakeholders,  and other project team members on design, development, implementation and evaluation of learning solutions

Identify the activities and content optimizing the authoring tools and identified tools to guarantee highly experiential component

Use all approved processes, tools and templates to standard for development and reporting

Design the activities and evaluation and toolkit to support learning transfer

Ensure regular stakeholder checks and feedback on the design

Keep up-to-date and/or identify opportunities of revamping content including induction and Immersion content

Deliver for application:

Collaborate with stakeholders to evaluate relevance (sign-of)

Deliver the finalized experience to the stakeholder for test `& adjust (pilot)

Drive learning transfer:

Actively maintain all content

Participate in quality review process

Participate in and contribute to T&D sub-teams, communities of practice, and other opportunities to enhance knowledge and skill

Deploy performance support:

Design & deploy Performance Support tools to support "Just-in-Time" learning

Identify relevant format (infographics, videos, guides...) to support formal and informal learning

Act as user advocate on cross-functional teams leading experiential product definition, design, development, and delivery of cross-channel

Document results – measure, evaluate and improve:

Monitor customers and stakeholders feedback to guarantee continuous improvement

Establish process of content curation and anticipate revamping of content

Actively follow-up on organisation’s expectations, customers data, performance results to identify needs to develop new contents or remove

Technical skills continually upgraded:

Access to relevant content hubs, events and portals to facilitate ongoing self-led development

Continuous access to upskilling and development to guarantee hands-on on technology

Access to Community of Practice within the Alshaya Learning Community

Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s degree, Diploma in design, certification in Instructional design.

Fluent in English(read, write, and speak). Arabic is an advantage. 

Use of Technology: Office 365, E-Learning authoring tools, Software such as (Adobe, Articulate, etc) web-based tools to develop interactive learning.

Minimum on the job experience: 4 to 7 years of experience within designing and developing content.
