Property Finder is the leading digital real estate platform in the Middle East and North Africa region. VP Engineering Listing & Data Content
Position summary
This role is one of the key positions of the Engineering leadership team driving the development of our tech calibre and with key involvement in management and delivery of products at Property Finder. Within the tribe and squad structure the position will be a leader of several squads located in an international environment (mainly Dubai and Istanbul) to deliver the best product to our customers.
The position will carry the direct accountability of the whole Tribes Listing and data content. This Tribe contains three squads, of whom, 50% are located in Istanbul and 50% in Dubai. This represent 20 people in total; (Engineers, Front End, Back End, QA)
Here are the key elements for each responsibility: Listing and Data Content
Listing: Your responsibility will be around Listing insertion, Quality, Verification Process, data validation, DLD integration, allow customer to insert, manage, publish listing within all different surface (desktop, mobile, native apps)
Data content: Surfacing key data for;
B2C: Build data point, trends, AI to allow B2C user to have a full view of the market data (location information, price trends, communities, amenities, location information) to allow our user to get more information that will help them to make the right decision (buy, rent,...)
B2B: Partner with our customers to give them as much information that will allow them to develop their business. ROI dashboard, lead report, community information,..
Key Responsibilities:
As a key leader of the Engineering team collaborate and engage with the rest of Engineering leaders to support the overall delivery of the teams.
Re-architect several commercial products into one solution
Create a common service base that reaches across our department and allow every squad to surface those data within our application.
Be a hands on technical leader who:
Participates in developing our architecture and delivery methodologies
Designs, plans, delivers and maintains our live products and infrastructure.
Create and maintain a high bar for code quality. (Code that is easy to understand and adaptable by anyone.)
Identify process bottlenecks execute changes to increase delivery velocity
Take an active lead on the product roadmap and ensure a smooth delivery, quality content & vision whilst adhering to the timeline.
Be the inspirational leader who attracts, develops and retains the best talent within the engineering team.
Be responsible for the product delivery. Key elements of the delivery are: Project timing, Quality, Speed, Security you will have the full accountability of the engineering delivery. It will be important to deliver quickly the right solution that will serve B2B and B2C community across all platform (Web, Mobile, Desktop, Native App)
Tech Stack
Go Lang, PHP symphony, reactjs, javascript, MongoDB, MySQL, AWS: Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins.
Essential experience
10+ years of software development experience in backend
5+ years of team management experience
Track record of scaling engineering organisations from 30 engineers to 100+ and from 4-5 teams to 10+
Good experience designing APIs
Good problem solving and Analytical skills
Good communication skills
Other Capabilities
Experience of post M&A platform integration
Strong backend Go Lang, PHP
Familiarity with Frontend development is desired (Reactjs, javascript)
Exposure to NoSQL like MongoDB
Comfortable with querying different data sources (SQL, NoSQL)
Customer focused and forms data driven decisions , being proactive in making products stable and better for users.
Experience in the Real Estate Classified industry is a big plus
