Finance Planning & Analysis Analyst, Acino, Dubai, UAE

The position is based in Dubai, UAE, will report directly to FP&A Manager META.    The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the financial planning and analysis activities, driving insightful decision-making, and contributing to the company’s growth and success.   The role will be responsible for reporting financial results and other business metrics, supporting in special projects and leading internal process enhancement initiatives.

Your Responsibilities will be:

Financial Planning and Analysis:  Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial data and insights, ensuring accurate and timely reporting. Prepare and maintain comprehensive financial models, forecasts, and budgets that reinforce strategic planning and operational excellence.

Performance Monitoring: Monitor key financial and business performance indicators ( DIO, DSO, IMS, spending/G2N ratios etc.), comparing actual results against budgets and forecasts. Analyze trends and variances, providing actionable insights to drive performance improvements and cost efficiencies and generate regular reports for management.

Financial Reporting: Collaborate with accounting teams and finance operations team in the markets to ensure reconciliation of actual financial results with forecasts, Collaborate with Supply Chain team in HQ and markets to gather, consolidate and report sales outlook to LT members and HQ commercial controlling, Review Sales adjustment accruals and make sure sales are closed on time as per the reporting calendar, investigate and explain deviation vs sales Outlook, FC and Budget, Perform monthly check on contribution margin components (Price, G2N, COGS, Commissions etc.), Lead the monthly rolling FC process in the region. Assist in the preparation of accurate monthly performance review slide deck, yearly budget presentation and any one off / Ad hoc presentation to deep dive into specific financial topics as requested by management.

Process Enhancement: Identify opportunities for process improvement within the FP&A function, streamlining reporting processes and enhancing data accuracy. Implement best practices to ensure efficient and effective financial analysis and reporting.

Business Partnering: Act as Finance business partner for Non Direct Markets, Support Commercial head on the day to day operations, Prepare financial forecasts, budgets, and variance analyses, and present them to stakeholders. Monitor financial performance against targets and provide recommendations for improvement. Develop and maintain financial models to support business planning and scenario analysis. Collaborate with shared services to follow up on receivable/payable for timely collection and payment.

Your Profile:

BBA Degree or equivalent with focus on Finance & Accounting or Business Analytic.

3 to 5 years’ experience working as Finance, FP&A or Business Analyst in Pharma, FMCG or similar industry.

Proven history of seeking out new information and learning quickly – agility to absorb new concepts, analyse data and ask insightful questions to make effective decisions.

Ability to work within cross-functional teams, effectively communicating and influencing decisions.

Ability to “flex” across different types of cultures, complexities, business situations.

Ability to summarize complex information into simple understandable concept.

Excellent working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint).

Previous experience working with business intelligence tool (Power BI) and ERP (SAP).

Effective communication and presentation skills with the ability to create energy and excitement.

Excellent command of English, any other language is a plus.

Country Controller – Middle East, Epam, Dubai, UAE

The Middle-East Controller's primary responsibility is to maintain an effective accounting framework, internal controls, and compliance with local laws, regulations, and US-GAAP. They will work closely with Finance leadership, leveraging EPAM Global Shared Services Center (SSC) teams and external agencies as needed. The role encompasses overseeing financial activities, ensuring timely and accurate Tax and Statutory filings, and driving continuous process improvements. The entities in scope include Legal Entities in the Middle-East, which are expanding rapidly across various geographies ((Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Qatar, Saudi Arabia) and new geographies like Bahrein will open soon. External agency support will be determined separately for entities outside the Middle-East Controller's jurisdiction and proficient local legislation knowledge.

Responsibilities

Accounting Framework and Related Control Environment:

Collaborate with Corporate SSC Teams to maintain effective accounting framework (Local- and US-GAAP)

Monitor local legislative environment, initiate policy changes, and inform Global SSC teams

Coordinate and ensure consistent handling of issues among different Global SSC teams

Maintain effective local Internal Control environment, harmonize accounting practices, and develop local finance organization

Statutory/Corporate Audits:

Support the timely completion of corporate audits as required

Coordinate the Statutory audits with local and SSC teams

Ensure that statutory filings are completed within the required deadline

Prepare periodic Stat to US-GAAP reconciliation/bridge for internal purposes

Payroll:

Liaise with local payroll agencies in coordination with Global Payroll team (proper categorization of payroll details)

Monitor payroll-related legislation and ensure compliance with all applicable laws, escalate if required

Verify payroll calculations provided by external agency to ensure accuracy and completeness as agreed with Global Payroll team

Ensure all payroll processes under local control are fully compliant with internal SOX requirements

Ensure payroll tax filings are submitted to the authorities in time, and related payments are made timely (including proper handling of payroll taxes related to stock-based compensation)

Finance Business Partnership:

Work closely with the central FP&A team related to local transactions so that proper responses can be given to management inquiries

Support the annual Budgeting process for the entity and monitor that expenses are properly recognized locally in our financials

Provide ad-hoc support to different Budget holders to understand their year-to-date Budget performance related to local financials

Liaise with the Accounting and FP&A teams if corrective actions are required as a result of the performed reviews

Requirements

Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or equivalent

Holder of a local equivalent of a valid CPA qualification

Minimum 10 years working experience in the field of Accounting either at a multinational company or in Audit services (Big4)

Minimum 5 years working experience as Chief accountant or Senior Controller at a multinational company in the Middle-East

Relevant Experience in Saudi/Bahrein is required

Excellent knowledge of statutory and IFRS/US-GAAP accounting standards including related analysis and reporting

Solid knowledge of Tax and local regulations including Transfer Pricing frameworks

High integrity standards and reliability

Solid understanding of partnering within Finance and other local/global colleagues

Strong analytical and IT skills (preferable SAP, ERP, MS-Office)

Ambitious, polished, highly articulate and strong interpersonal skills

Excellent communication skills in English & Arabic (both written and oral)

Senior Legal Counsel, Dragon Oil, UAE

Job Purpose

Support all Dragon Oil Departments and in particular the Senior Management, General Counsel, Department Managers and other Dragon Oil personnel on all dispute resolution, procurement and NBV matters throughout the company’s areas of operation.

Job Responsibilities

Duties, Responsibilities, Performance Standards & Percentage of Time:

Percentage of Time Duty or Responsibility

1)  40%    Managing Disputes – Litigation, Arbitration, Mediation and ADR

 Advises on and opines on all forms of contentious matters affecting all Dragon Oil Departments.

Where relevant, engages appropriate external legal counsel to handle and advise on large scale disputes before courts or arbitral tribunals, with concurrence from General Counsel.

Where relevant, seeks to implement the settlement of such disputes and mimization of any of Dragon Oil’s liabilities within the strategy and parameters acceptable to Dragon Oil Management.

In all cases, seeks to optimize Dragon Oil’s balance sheet and potential liabilities stemming from any legal cases against it.

Where relevant, advise on any commencing claims against parties who breach contracts or default on their contractual obligations with Dragon Oil.

Manages and advises on any contentious UAE labor law claims, with support from other members of DO Legal team.

Post dispute, advises on lessons learnt and assists in implementing new policies and procedures for business teams intended to avoid similar outcomes in the future and to mitigate similar risks.

2) 40% Procurement-related matters

Assists with the development, revision, roll-out and application of standardized contracting templates across all business sectors in all our jurisdictions of operation.

Interfaces with Procurement department to advise on the terms and conditions applicable to a wide range of oil and gas supply chain agreements for goods and services.

Advises Procurement department on certain legal bidder exceptions to tendered terms and conditions.

Works as a member of the broader contracting team in the Company to foster process efficiency.

3) 10% Assisting in pre-dispute claims handing and dispute prevention with

Procurement / Projects / Non-Operated JV Management business teams

Assesses potential claims made by contractors, partners and other third parties and advises on strategy and next steps.

Seeks early amicable resolution of matters to avoid formal court, where possible.

4) 10% New Ventures, new country contracting policy and procedures

Manages and advises on confidentiality agreements and other partner / JV

agreement relating to new business opportunities and collaborations.

Provides robust, timely and pragmatic legal advice on the joint venture issues.

Manages the company’s legal risk exposure in new territories by working with the Senior Legal Counsel (Contracts/Procurement) to develop, revise, roll-out and implement a robust and jurisdiction-specific standard contracting policy and procedures.

 

Education

Law degree is required from the UK, Europe, US or Commonwealth jurisdiction
