Position Description

Job Title: Project Manager – Structures

Reporting Into: Operations Director

Direct Reports: N/A

Location: Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

Job Objective:

Project Manage all aspects of the erection and dismantling of Semi-Permanent & temporary structures. Covering all aspects such as Structures, Interiors & MEP for a wide variety of Semi-Permanent and event projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Managing All stakeholders and ensuring the delivery of successful projects within the specified time, budget, and quality.

Taking project briefs from the Client, Account Management, and Designer team.

Attendance at Client meetings.

Acting as the main point of contact throughout the Lifecycle of projects.

Providing clear lines of communication to all parties concerned as the project develops.

Preparation of project path planners and full pre-production planning.

Briefing and consulting with subcontractors on project requirements and Harlequin working standards.

Ensuring that all parties, including Arena internal departments, are fully briefed on all aspects of the project, throughout the project.

Onsite management of complete projects.

Ensure Health and Safety standards are always adhered to on-site and provide Work Method statements for all work conducted on site.

Manage all budgets relating to the physical delivery and execution of projects within the defined objectives.

Onsite problem solving.

Close liaison with Foremen & Design Project Managers concerning all aspects of a project build. Willingness to learn in detail about temporary structure builds.

Completion of all paperwork and administrative procedures using Excel, Word, and email.

Setting up of site office.

Debriefing team after project.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Personal

A naturally organized person capable of multitasking and quick thinking.

Excellent communicator with strong leadership and man management skills

A positive, can-do attitude is essential.

Must enjoy and thrive on problem-solving and working under pressure and to deadlines.

Availability to work long hours and be site-based on some projects.

Able to take ownership and be accountable.

Technical

Excellent Excel skills. Knowledge of Project Management software is an advantage.

Thorough administrator with high diligence.

Education and Experience:

Saudi Council Of Engineers certification

Diploma/Degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering

Driving license essential.

5+ years’ experience in Project Management. Events experience an advantage.

You as a Project Engineer will be part of Hitachi Energy business based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Leading the execution of small projects with low complexity and ensuring that all related activities are executing in accordance with company procedures, contract specifications, quality standards, health, safety & environment requirements, cost or profitability targets, and scheduling targets.

Your responsibilities:

Planning and scheduling: Defining, jointly with the project controls department, all project plan documents, including scope and financial planning, scheduling, and risk management plans.

Project execution and control: Ensuring that the project follows execution best practices and Hitachi Energy policies. Effectively monitoring and controlling project progress and efficient resource utilization. Monitoring and controlling project financials, overseeing project invoicing status, cost, expenses, and cash flow. Identifying, qualifying, quantifying, and managing risks, and ensuring that all opportunities are identified and pursued. Capturing, analyzing, and sharing lessons learned throughout the project. Ensuring that the project is formally closed out, as contractually agreed. Driving the formal acceptance of the project, contract close-out and its acknowledgement by the customer.

Contract claims and procurement management: Ensuring that the project consistently applies contract and claims management, in accordance with Hitachi Energy policies and contractual agreements. Coordinating with supply chain management, and successfully procures required services, materials, and equipment for the project from external and internal suppliers. Supporting supply chain management in negotiations, claims and project changes.

Stakeholder relations: Acting as key contact for the customer and an escalation point for project issues. Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and effectively communicates with all stakeholders.

Health, safety, and environment (HSE): Ensuring the project follows and complies with company health, safety, and environmental policies.

Safety and Integrity: Living Hitachi Energy’s core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business.

Your background

A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or relevant field is required.

Minimum 2 to 4 years of relevant experience is preferred.

Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.

Job Description

Recruitment Strategy: Develop and execute comprehensive recruitment strategies in liaison with the Director of Talent & Culture to fulfill the staffing needs of Swissotel Al Murooj Hotel, Collaborate with department heads and managers to understand their hiring requirements and create customized recruitment plans.

Sourcing and Networking: Utilize various recruitment platforms such as Smart Recruiter, LinkedIn, job boards, and other relevant channels to source, identify, and engage potential candidates. Build a strong network and maintain relationships with potential candidates for future opportunities.

Candidate Evaluation: Review and evaluate incoming applications and resumes. Conduct initial screenings and assessments to ensure candidates meet the required qualifications and align with the hotel's values and culture.

Interview Process: Coordinate and schedule interviews with hiring managers and stakeholders. Conduct interviews, both in-person and virtually, to assess candidates' suitability for the roles. Provide timely feedback to candidates and internal teams.

Employer Branding: Collaborate with the L&D team to enhance the hotel's employer brand by creating compelling job descriptions, employer profiles, and engaging recruitment materials. Represent the hotel positively at industry events and career fairs.

Selection and Offer: Participate in the selection process by presenting shortlisted candidates to hiring managers. Facilitate communication between candidates and hiring managers, ensuring a seamless and positive candidate experience. Extend offers of employment and negotiate terms as needed.

Onboarding Support: Assist in the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring they have a smooth transition into their roles. Coordinate with relevant departments to provide necessary information and resources to new employees.

Data Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of candidate information, recruitment activities, and hiring metrics. Generate regular reports to monitor recruitment effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

Proven experience (2 years) in recruitment, preferably in the hospitality industry.
