Company Description

Masdar is the UAE’s clean energy champion and one of the largest companies of its kind in the world, advancing the development and deployment of renewable energy and green hydrogen technologies to address global sustainability challenges. Established in 2006, Masdar is today active in over 40 countries, helping them to achieve their clean energy objectives and advance sustainable development. Masdar is jointly owned by Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), Mubadala Investment Company (Mubadala), and Abu Dhabi National Energy Company (TAQA), and under this ownership the company is targeting a renewable energy portfolio capacity of at least 100 gigawatts (GW) by 2030 and an annual green hydrogen production capacity of up to 1 million tonnes by the same year.

Job Description

We are thrilled to announce an opening for the position of Manager Financial Planning at Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar). At Masdar, we're not just about sustainable energy – we're also focused on harnessing financial strategies that power our growth and success. As a Manager of Financial Planning, you will be at the heart of this effort, leveraging your analytical prowess to provide insightful commentary on our business performance and drive optimal financial outcomes.

Key Accountabilities

1. Group Management Reporting and Analysis:

Define reporting requirements from investee entities and assets, ensuring accurate and timely information capture.

Validate accuracy and completeness of financial reports from the GL team and management accountants.

Prepare and issue timely group management reports for stakeholders, including executive management, Board of Directors, and shareholders.

Offer insightful commentary on financial performance, highlighting variances and key drivers.

2. Corporate and Internal Performance Scorecards:

Collaborate with stakeholders to establish annual performance scorecard metrics.

Update corporate and internal financial performance scorecards regularly and report to management, shareholders, and the Board.

Conduct review meetings to ensure a shared understanding of performance status, key drivers, risks, and opportunities.

3. Budget Preparation and Management:

Lead the annual budget and business planning process for Masdar and Masdar Green Hydrogen.

Consolidate budget inputs from various sources, ensuring accuracy and alignment with guidelines and strategies.

Review and finalize draft budgets and presentations with internal stakeholders and shareholder representatives.

4. Forecasting and Market Assessment:

Initiate and oversee quarterly re-forecasting processes, capturing market impacts on financial performance.

Identify and track risks and opportunities, quantifying their impacts on financial forecasts.

5. DEVEX Control and Ad-hoc Reporting:

Implement a process to track and manage development cost spend against approved budgets.

Prepare and issue monthly DEVEX reports to stakeholders, ensuring effective budgetary management.

Oversee the preparation of other ad-hoc reports as required by key stakeholders.

6. Audit Preparation and Compliance:

Prepare reports and documentation for internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with auditing standards.

7. Stakeholder and Third-Party Management:

Manage relationships with service level providers and key stakeholders to ensure quality and timely services.

Negotiate agreements that align with Masdar's interests and goals.

8. Continuous Improvement:

Contribute to the improvement of function systems, policies, and procedures to meet procedural and legislative requirements.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or related field.

At least 8 years of financial planning and reporting experience, including 3-4 years at a group financial planning level.

Proficiency in ERP systems, IFRS, financial planning tools, and Microsoft Office.

Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Technical/Functional Responsibilities:

Develop business strategies using tools such as market analysis, customer research, macroeconomic and microeconomic forecasting, and portfolio optimization.

Collect, analyses, and translate large amounts of qualitative and quantitative data into realistic plans, goals, and actionable.

Organizes data, graphs and other material in a logical format and implements reporting as needed on a regular interval for ease of viewing via software resources.

Review transaction rationale and/or deal documents to identify critical business issues and risks relating to a proposed transaction.

Reviews published reports, materials and recommends revisions or changes in data, format, or content.

Manage specific tasks execution and delivery of the projects, making sure they are delivered within the agreed timeline and budget.

Lead engagement teams to provide high quality strategies and operating models, and recommendations with commercial impact.

Identify and address client needs, actively attending client discussions and meetings.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

You will have:

Must have at least 5+ years in management consulting with projects in business strategy, procurement, supply chain in the following industries, but not limited to Transport, Infrastructure, Energy, Water or Healthcare.

Highly analytical with a strong academic background on business and finance. MBA preferred.

Thorough proficiency with Microsoft Office products and possibly Data Analytics Tools & Software (Power BI, Tableau, Pyton).

Ability to work in teams and regularly participate in making decisions and show problem-solving capabilities.

Thorough communication skills, both verbal and written are critical.

Thorough detail orientation and problem-solving skills.

Must have the ability to contribute in a team environment and work across multiple departments

Facilitate project meetings and produce/distribute meeting documents.

Within the Merchandising Department, your main mission is to have a client centric mind set and to drive the business in collaboration with the Zone Merchandisers and related Central and Zone teams to achieve the set objectives in terms of turnover, sell through and profits for “your” category or lines.

1/ Drive Business, Bet, Buy, Assort: Strategy and operations on “your” category or lines:

- Participation in annual sales budget and OTS planning

- Define and share business targets to be achieved by novelty and existing each season to reach the yearly budget.

- Define key bets each season from the novelties

- Edit the collection (new and existing) in preparation of showroom in collaboration with the product team to reach business target

- Define assortment strategy each season for the category/lines always with client centric mind set

- Responsible of maintaining an efficient collection and assortment, taking into consideration the global strategy on the category

- Responsible of the buys on all new products from preparation of showroom up to the launch.

- Once products are launched, follow closely with the zones and sales planning teams on performance to maximize sales, sell through and optimization of forecast.

- Maintain a comprehensive and updated knowledge (internet, medias) of the clients, LV stores and competition by regular visits to stores and weekly communication with the zones

- Brief each season the product team on market trend, needs on “your” category / lines, and contribute in effective collection building

2/ Transversal management and collaboration :

- Lead a zone with a global vision on the business as representative for central merch team.

- Daily exchange with product team on product strategy, plan and business update

- Strong collaboration with supply chain teams to follow up on performance vs forecast, rebalancing, and maximization of ST.

- Brief and work with central VM team to ensure strong visibility of your lines in line with business and image priorities.

- Coordinate as representative in Merch team with client development team: define opportunities/ priorities for clienteling action around products

With a higher education background similar to Business Schools, you have a first strong experience (3/4 years) in Retail or Zone Merchandising, and good knowledge of clients acquired in Fashion and luxury environment.

You have a strong appeal to Fashion and trends (markets and competitors understanding), strong product sensibility.

Open-minded and curious, you have a good understanding of different cultures and markets.

Results & clients oriented, you are able to interact with different services.

Excellent level of English is a must & preferably fluent in French.
