About the Opportunity:Robust infrastructure establishes the backbone of productive, economically strong communities as assets essential to commerce, trade, public safety and quality of life.
Due to our continued growth in the region Jacobs is hiring a Project Controls Manager in Abu Dhabi. Reporting to the Programme Director you be responsible for leading all aspects of the project controls function. Responsibilities include:
Lead the project controls staff for efficient project controls delivery and responsible for well-being of project controls staff with respect to safety, work life balance and career growth
Provide oversight and review of the Consultant’s/Contractor’s planning and scheduling of the assigned projects including Consultant/Contractor’s staff plans and manpower histograms and project progress measurement, etc.
Apply all planning and scheduling techniques as appropriate in accordance with the approved Project Controls/Execution Plan
Ensure that the Project Controls Systems provide the best possible control tools for the supervisory staff on the project to allow them to control their work efficiently
Maintain up to date knowledge of planning software and techniques as used on the contract and ensure as well that the staff maintain their skill and knowledge
Ensure that the project manager, construction manager and other stakeholders are aware of any potential threats to completion on schedule, and to propose remedial action
Ensure that planning staff are identified, recruited, trained and assign who are competent, experienced and cost effective
Appraise performance of subordinates and identify / implement training and development needs
Establish and promote good working relations with his team, project staff and the customer
Develop staffing plan and execution for the project organization to ensure resource is available
Prepare internal and client weekly and monthly project status reports
Review of EPC contractor schedules and programmes
Here’s What You’ll Need:
Previously held a Project Controls Manager position or equivalent
Ideally have PMC experience
Experience working on major infrastructure projects
Have a bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management or equivalent
Minimum of 20 years’ experience
Experience across the full project lifecycle with respect to planning, cost, and schedule control
Good understanding of the design process and construction methodologies
Be able to reside in Abu Dhabi. Please note that commuting from other Emirates is not something that would be considered
