Hospitality Technical Services Manager, Egis, Dubai, UAE

Job Summary

• Although this role is based in Dubai, the successful candidate will be supporting all hotel projects in the Middle East and further and therefore relevant regional experience is preferred.

• The objective of the role is to support the hospitality division in all technical aspects of the hospitality lifecycle

Pre-opening: attend coordination meetings with the architects, interior designers, engineers and consultants as required and manage, on behalf of owners topics such as:

Project handover.

FLS and MEP

Prioritize areas for handover.

Snagging and defects reporting.

Review handover documentation including statutory permits, completion certificates, O&M manuals, as built drawings etc.

Acceptance of the project from the owner’s team.

Compile formal handover report from Technical Services to Hotel Operations.

Establish and maintain communication system to provide timely and on-going project status reports to the Group Director of Technical Services.

Establish and monitor record keeping procedures for all documents received and issued for the project.

Ensure that all meetings attended are properly recorded and maintained.

Compile a comprehensive deviations report highlighting areas of the project that do not comply with operator Design Guidelines, Brand Standards or applicable international standards.

FF&E and IT coordination.

Technical Due Diligence

Coordinate and execute all hospitality technical due diligence

Ongoing asset management:

Ensure hotel assets are maintained at par with investment vision

Feasibility Study

Establish and review the Hotel’s brief and space allocation requirements.

Prepare area programs.

Design reviews:

Review and comment on preliminary Project concepts and any amendments with regards to master planning, Site infrastructure, (including buildings, roads, landscaping, car parks); Basements, public area floor plans, room and suite layouts, Serviced Apartment designs, back-of-house plans and preliminary architectural and technical specifications

General:

Space allocation and organization of various premises of the hotel.

Architectural, interior design and landscaping plans and specifications.

Kitchen designs and proposed kitchen equipment.

Laundry facilities and equipment.

Building facade and high access cleaning and maintenance proposals.

HVAC, electrical, mechanical and plumbing installations.

Life, safety systems.

IT installations

Security installations

Co-ordinate mock up room and interior design reviews

Obtain ongoing input from Egis Technical Experts as required.

Support owners on value engineering exercises and liaise with operator on their behalf.

Profile

Skills and Experience

In order to be considered you must have the following qualifications and competencies:

Minimum HNC / HND or Degree in Project Management or building engineering/services or architect

Minimum 3 years experience in a similarly position with strong people management.

Arabic language is appreciated

Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently. Proven planning, estimating and project delivery skills.

People management skills.

Able to manage frequent travel.

Able to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences

Proficient with MS suite of documents

Ability to communicate with people at all levels of the organization

Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, high volume environment

Flexible, adaptable and diplomatic

Demonstrate initiative and creativity

Good organizational skills

Subsea 7 is looking for talented Cost Controllers to ensure accurate, timely and value added analysis and reporting on a project or projects.  

 

The role ensures the provision of all cost control on the project including budget set up, updates and monitoring, change management, variation estimating, cost reporting, risk contingency and management as well as all forecasting activities.

The role reports functionally to Finance Cost Control Manager and Directly to Project Manager/Director on a specific project.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Establish and communicate processes and routines required for effective control and reporting during the project lifecycle to all team members

Develop a common understanding of the Tender budget and ensure its transfer to the cost management system in order to establish first project forecast

Establish a project coding structure in accordance with the Group guidelines.

Assist/liaise with Project Planner for maintenance of project WBS and NWA structures

Oversee the timely coding, collection, analysis and reporting of all project expenditure, together with budget holder(s)

Responsible for the reconciliation of forecasted and actual expenditures and the production of project accruals

Responsible for the overall coordination of changes to the forecast based on inputs from Client, project management and other project team members as applicable

Perform monthly closing adjustment in accounts: determine and post cost accruals and unbilled revenue, calculate and post revenue adjustments when its recognition is based upon cost progress

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

University level Business Degree, ideally in Cost Management, Project Management, Finance or Engineering

Minimum 5 years relevant Experience of establishing and performing Cost Control on various types and size of projects.

Relevant previous experience at an appropriate level in the subsea or offshore environment

Technical knowledge and application of Cost Control and associated systems

Accounting skills

Experience in SAP is an advantage

Strong Excel knowledge

Good communication skills

English fluent

PERSONAL SKILLS 

Strong analytical skills

Creative problem solving - able to suggest and develop new methods and ways of working

Sound communication skills – able to communicate ideas and results to various stakeholders both in written reports and in meetings, presentations etc.

The ability to work in a team as well as individually with a minimum of supervision

The ability to organize and prioritize own work and as such have responsibility for discrete work packages ongoing simultaneously

Understanding of clients’ needs and ability to suggest and apply “fit for purpose” solutions

We are currently seeking an experienced treasury professional to join our Global Treasury Center in the capacity of Senior Manager – Cash Management.

 

Overview of the role

As part of the Cash Management and Trade Finance (CMTF) vertical within the Global Treasury Center (GTC) based in Dubai, UAE, the Senior Manager – Cash Management will establish internal capabilities and run a team in charge of managing cash transactions across and on behalf of the Al Futtaim Group entities in the UAE, GCC, Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong, in compliance with treasury policies and procedures. The role is division agnostic, meaning that all activities will be performed on behalf of all the Al Futtaim Group entities, subject to certain exceptions. 

 

What you will do

Short Term Cash Flow forecasts

Set group-wide cash forecasting guidelines

Maintain a short term 12-month rolling direct cash flow forecast on a bi-weekly basis in conjunction with the divisions and business units’ Financial planning and analysis (FP&A) teams

Review, challenge, and analysis of short-term cash flow forecasts prepared by the divisions

Consolidate and maintain cash flow forecasts in Anaplan

Perform regular variance analysis reports and discuss deviations with the divisions

Prepare and maintain consolidated short-term cash flow forecast for Group CFO and Group Treasurer review.

 

In-House Bank

Management of In-House bank for the AFG divisions

Assess in coordination with Global Treasury Center - Financial Risk Management (GTC/FRM) whether short term cash requirements should be funded from internal or external sources

Manage an in-house bank aimed at funding all short-term transactions on behalf of the Group companies from either pooled cash or utilizations of trade finance facilities provided by banks, optimizing net interest for Group and Group companies

Ensure proper records are maintained in TRM for all transaction, working closely with Treasury Back Office Tower (TBOT)

 

Cash Management

Manage cash efficiently across the group by managing a small team responsible for cash management activities as well as working closely with Invoice-to-Pay (I2P), divisions and business units’ Financial planning and analysis (FP&A) teams.

Negotiate group and country cash pooling arrangements

Determine Group and country cash levels

Assess the funding requirements for the Group and its subsidiaries.

Decision to enter into cash & investment instruments based on group-wide requirements

Decide on necessary actions to be taken based on the daily cash position, facility utilization and headroom

Mobilize cash to manage liquidity efficiently (minimize interest costs) in coordination with Global Treasury Center - Financial Risk Management (GTC/FRM)

Ensure that accounts are funded in right currency and on-time

Optimize cash concentration at header level whilst ensuring the divisions’ daily liquidity requirements

Regularly reviewing the structure and pricing of cash management solutions

Ensure proper records are maintained in Treasury Management Systems (TMS) for all transaction, working closely with Treasury Back Office Tower (TBOT)

 

Governance and Transformation

Ensure compliance with Group Treasury policies

Provide inputs to Global Treasury Center - Governance, Risk Control & Transformation (GTC/GRCT) team on all reporting aspects

Monitor and report on Group cash portfolio

Provide inputs into cash management strategy including IHB and treasury policies

Support all Treasury transformation projects, in particular around:

Bank account rationalization project

Cash pooling projects (UAE and Global)

Virtual accounts implementation

TRM roll-out

In house cash

 

Associate Development and succession planning

Continuous development of associates on specialised skills required in managing cash management and trade finance products.

 

Required skills to be successful

Knowledge of banking products – Trade Finance

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Knowledge of SAP TRM or equivalent, physical and notional pooling arrangements

Strong analytical skills with an attention to details.

Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

 

What equips you for the role

Bachelor’s degree in Finance/accounting or equivalent, Masters degree or equivalent, professional qualification in finance eg. CFA, FRM, ACT etc.
