This Opportunity

LBS is seeking a full-time Air Freight Manager at our location at the Al Mubrarak Airport in Kuwait. The ideal candidate will Perform all tasks associated with the safe and correct operation of the Air Terminal as directed by management, regulations, policies, Instructions and the Performance Work Statement. Your Impact

Who You Are

Act as Alternate Station Manager when required.

Provide flight line drivers training and track recurring requirements.

Develop training programs and work with leads and supervisors to train section employees, follow-up for compliance and effectiveness.

Maintain and update the LBS-Kuwait standard operating instructions for Air Freight personnel.

Identify and train K-loader instructors per the current lesson plans.

Scrutinize GATES reports, flight line activities, and all other LBS managed processes for compliance with directives.

Ensure all operations comply with the latest applicable federal, installation and base policies, regulations, management plans, and requirements, regarding occupational safety and health.

Establish, maintain, update and administer a comprehensive safety program that encompasses operational, facility and documentation requirements.

Investigate safety incidents to determine origin, cause, contributing elements and report findings to Station Manager.

Perform safety briefings to new-hires, document training, and accomplish periodic safety seminars to LBS employees.

Ensure work performed does not expose personnel or property to hazards, risk of injury, or damage.

Enforce only approved headgear, with the chin strap in-place or tight fitting, is worn on the flight-line.

Inspect fire extinguishers and report unserviceable units to the COR.

Responsible for the environmental compliance with recycling and resource recovery programs, pollution prevention, environmental compliance, clean-up and disposal of hazardous materials, and programs aimed at management and control of hazardous materials as well as the proper storage of any hazardous material used by LBS.

Report hazardous situations or events, which cannot be eliminated immediately to the Station Manager.

Monitors the Joint Inspection program and monitor compliance of all directives by Joint Inspectors.

Perform manual procedures as per contract requirements and submit findings to the Station Manager.

Perform self-inspections for all sections at the interval deemed necessary by the Station Manager and report findings to the Station Manager.

Perform supplemental duties as required by the Station Manager.

Required Qualifications

Current certifications covering areas of responsibility is preferred.

Must have prior supervisory experience in Air Terminal Ground Handling Services.

Must have computer skills and be able to operate a variety of computer programs. Must be detail oriented, motivated and driven to perform at a high level.

Must be able to comprehend English to include reading and writing.

Must maintain a valid driver’s license.

You will be required to maintain a valid passport.

You will be required to maintain NAC/Secret clearance.

Your key responsibilities

You’ll lead the successful delivery of Indirect Tax engagements, taking a professional, practical and commercial approach and ensuring technical excellence.

You will manage large VAT implementation teams comprising both client functional experts and consultant specialists, identify opportunities in the market and lead on developing our commercial proposition to new and existing clients.

You will build and maintain tax relationships with our own clients, advise how indirect taxes such as value added tax (VAT) impact clients’ supply chain and financial and accounting systems and identify and address areas of risk, advise clients on the taxation implication of international trade and assist them in complying with customs regulations.

Skills and attributes for success

If you have strong teaching skills in developing associates and conducting trainings, strong drive to excel professionally, good advisory and writing skills and are dedicated, innovative, resourceful, analytical, able to work under pressure and a team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills, you will be perfect for the role.

To qualify for the role you must have

A degree in economics, finance, tax or accounting

A relevant Masters degree, CPA or ACA/CA/CPA/CMA/SOCPA/Law qualification/CTA or equivalent tax qualification

At least 6 years of relevant experience as Indirect Tax professional

Experience working for a Big 4 accounting firm is preferred. However, we will consider candidates with from law firms or with relevant industry experience

Customs duty advisory experience is preferable, but we will also consider candidates with VAT advisory experience

Excellent English written and presentational skills.

Ideally, you’ll also have

Experience working in multicultural teams

Strong organizational, project management and analytical skills.

Strong drive to excel professionally, and to guide and motivate others

Coordination and prioritization skills

Independent in managing own workload, ability to work under pressure and to keep things moving and to juggle multiple tasks

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Trade tested and qualified as a Technician (Mechanical and/or Electrical, Instrumentation).

Interpret P&ID (electrical and/or mechanical) for problem solving and suggesting alterations / improvements.

Devises, fabricates and assembles new or modified mechanical components or assemblies for products such as plant equipment and machinery, power equipment, servo systems, machine tools and measuring instruments.

Analyze indicated and calculated test results in relation to design or rated specifications. Records test procedures and results, numerical and graphical data and recommendations for changes in product or test method.

Work shifts so as to provide immediate support to production in the event of a breakdown

Must be able to work under pressure as the engineering team provides an integral service to production, prompt response to breakdowns is crucial.

Must uphold high engineering standards.

Must comply with safety standards as laid down in the OSHACT and any additional site safety policies and procedures.

Must comply with company hygiene rule, HACCP standards and procedures.

Must have unquestionable fault-finding ability and techniques.
