Job Description

Project Manager: Initially accountable for driving operational project management rigour and supporting the incumbent project director with the delivery of a major turnkey power plant project in the UAE. Despite the initial specific focus of the role, the candidate will also be expected to demonstrate the required skills, especially in relation to safety leadership and risk management, to be able to take on future projects (small to medium scopes, ranging from Equipment Only to Turn Key Self Implement) within the region.

The role requires that the candidate be flexible with respect to site travel to ensure safe and successful delivery, and be willing to support other project needs as required by the portfolio director.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Ensure project compliance to GE Spirit & Letter, Golden Rules, local regulations and EHS
  • Champion EHS best practices on a daily basis by ensuring compliance to Project EHS plan and site best practices, leveraging learnings from GE Read Across safety feedback forum in an effective manner and taking ownership of safety culture on projects
  • Execute implementation plan with execution project team in a proactive manner ensuring compliance to deliverable timelines, by effective management of core team goals
  • Manage and communicate a clear vision of the project’s objectives
  • Coordinating preparation of customer periodic reports & presentations in a strategic manner
  • Effective liaison with Engineering to define technical risks and mitigation
  • Ensure effective escalation with strong follow up
  • Resolution of extra works, claims and concessions to/from customers, consortium partners, contractors and sub-suppliers for the allocated scope of work; in a proactive manner
  • Define and execute effective claim strategies towards customer and/or partners; in liaison with Engineering, Site and Contract Management team
  • Develop and maintain relationships with customer, partners and procurer; ensure soliciting the adequate support to address issues raised in crucial meetings
  • Application of the project execution strategy, on a daily basis to ensure outcomes are aligned to near-term goals
  • Management of risks and opportunities, associated to the allocated scope of work, by the implementation of appropriate action plans;
  • Development and evolution of the overall project schedule, updating of the schedule to reflect progress and using the schedule to ensure critical paths creep is minimized
  • Collaborate diligently with operations to align with project management reporting with new standardized reporting mechanisms
  • Collaborate closely with finance and contract management to ensure timely cash collection and pacing as well as quantifying risks and opportunities
  • Responsible for proper hand over from the Project Team to Services
  • Capture return of experience and best practice

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering from an accredited college or university and/or minimum of 5 years of industrial field execution experience.
  • Excellent communication skills when managing medium to large teams and engaging with senior management
  • Significant experience in executing complex Power/Energy projects with demonstrated involvement with Project Management team / deliverables
  • Experience of Health and Safety leadership in challenging project environments

Senior Internal Auditor, ADNOC, Abu Dhabi, UAE

Job Purpose

Perform assigned audit engagements, from start to finish, inclusive of preplanning and wrap up activities. Applies risk and control concepts to scenarios encountered and identifies any potential issues. 
Assist in the periodic Risk Assessments and development of the Risk-Based Work Plans and the periodic reporting to the Audit Committee and Senior Management on internal audit activities, performance, significant risk exposures, controls/governance issues and other related matters.

Job Specific Accountabilities (Part 1)

Professional Ethics
•    Participate in initiating/promoting the establishment and continuous improvement of the Corporate Governance Framework including Enterprise Risk Management, Corporate Code of Conduct, Ethics and Values.
Internal Audit Plan
•     Assist in the development of Annual Audit Plan (AAP) based on the results of risk assessment exercise.
•     Provide input for the periodic reporting on audit activities and performance relative to its plans, significant risk exposures, control/governance issues and other related matters.
Audit Execution
•    Assist the auditors in the examination and analysis of records through executing audit program steps for the assigned audits.
•    Develop process understanding of assigned business processes and determines business objectives, main functions, the nature of activities, potential risks and controls to be reviewed.Develop a detailed audit program / Risk & Control Matrix (RCM) for the assigned audit including the objectives, potential risk, key controls, audit procedures and the use of audit techniques and tools to evaluate governance, risks and controls processes, and submits audit program to for review and approval.
•    Determine auditing procedures to be applied, including the use of Information Systems Audit Techniques, statistical sampling method or others.Ensure that adequate working papers and all relevant information are continuously documented and updated in the automated Audit Management System in accordance with pre-defined templates and audit procedures.
•    Perform the audit in accordance with the approved audit program and ensures that audit objectives have been met to support the audit conclusions/results.
•    Identify, obtain, analyse and appraise related systems and evidentiary data/information.
•    Prepare working papers which record and summarize data on the assigned audit and the results of the audit examination.
•    Appraise the adequacy of the corrective actions taken by management on audit recommendations through follow up audits and periodically reviews and updates the status of management action plans. 
•    Ensures that approved audit objectives have been met with adequate coverage of all relevant areas. Also ensures that sufficient appropriate audit evidence is obtained to support the conclusion and recommendations, and that the work has been performed in accordance with professional audit standards.
•    Participate in conducting special reviews and undertakes administrative duties as directed by Head of Internal Audit.
•    Perform (also supervises audits performed by Internal Auditors) in accordance with the approved RACM and professional standards on internal auditing.
•    Ensures tasks assigned to junior staff are adequately performed and deliverables are in accordance with ADNOC Internal Audit procedures and quality standards.
•    Identify high risk areas and key control points of the system to be reviewed.
•    Evaluate the system’s effectiveness based on his / her business and audit experience and modifies, if necessary, the scope of the review, with the approval of Team Leader / Department Manager.
•    Participate in special committees to provide independent and objective professional advice and consultancy services.

Job Specific Accountabilities (Part 2)

Audit Reports
•    Prepare audit report with conclusion, expressing professional opinions on the adequacy and effectiveness of risk management, control systems and the efficiency with which activities are carried out. Recommends improvement options to rectify reported deficiencies, for Team Leader / Department Manager’s review.
•    Recommend practical improvements options corresponding to the observations with an objective to contribute to the improvement of governance, risks and control processes to assist in the achievement of the company business objectives.
•    Follow- up on replies to issued draft and final audit reports and review the adequacy of the corrective actions taken on audit recommendations / improvement options.
Coordination
•    Assist Audit Management in arranging Audit Committee meetings, preparing the agenda, and minutes of meetings (MOMs) and reporting on Corporate Governance Framework, General Controls and other related issues as prescribed in the Audit Committee Charter. 
•    Conducts workshops or presentations to create awareness about IA function and demonstrate value addition across the ADNOC.
•    Communicates identified issues with Internal Audit management to ensure potential high risk area of concerns are addressed in a timely and effective manner.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement
•    Participate in the development and implementation of the automated Audit Management System.
•    Provide professional advice on Group Companies’ Audit Committee Charter, 
IA Charter and IA Methodology/Procedures. Provides assistance in the establishment of the Group Audit Committees/IA functions and related governance, when assigned.
•    Participate in initiating and coordinating the Group-wide specialized professional training programs. 
•    Conducts research and benchmarking to resolve audit issues, identify gaps and support IA function.

•    Provide inputs to prepare Section MIS and progress reports for Company Management.

Internal Communications & Working Relationships

•    Regular Contacts with operational level management within all auditable departments throughout ADNOC.
•    Frequent contacts within ADNOC at all levels of Management up to SVPs with respect to audit programs, the conduct of the audits, audit reports, findings and recommendations. 
•    Regular contacts with Management within the assigned ADNOC Group Companies up to Manager level with regards to the Group Company audits.
•    Coordinates audits with the concerned Function VP.

External Communications & Working Relationships

•    Regular contact with Internal Audit Service Provider(s) to coordinate audit activities, when required.
•    Regular contact, as required, with Abu Dhabi Accountability Authority (ADAA) regarding government audits.
•    Regular contact with ADNOC External Auditors and other assurance providers to ensure adequate audit coverage and minimize duplicate efforts.
•    Regular contact with ADNOC Group Companies’ Internal Audit Managers with respect to knowledge sharing of audit standards, frameworks, methodologies, policies, processes and coordination across ADNOC Group Companies.

Minimum Qualification

Bachelor Degree in Finance/ Auditing or relevant discipline

Minimum Experience, Knowledge & Skills

•    8 years of relevant experience in internal auditing, with varied experience in oil and gas operations and their inherent challenges/risks in the context of corporate function.
•    Familiarity with the International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF) and other standards and their interpretation and application to Internal Auditing practice.
•    Experience in managing and tracking time for different Internal Audit related activities. 
•    Proficiency in utilising various business applications to gather/ verify information with guidance. 
•    High interpersonal skills in line with the Corporate Role that requires interaction with all levels of Management in ADNOC and the Group Companies.

Role:

The Bid Manager has the responsibility of managing all phases of the company’s proposal process and oversees all proposal activities to develop compliant, complete, responsive, competitive, high-quality proposals and presentations.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensures the effective use of the Win-Work proposal development process and tools, for all bids, to maximize the opportunity of winning by producing repeatable, reliable results.

Full ownership and leadership of the proposal planning, kick-off, development and delivery process.

Provides a clear, structured, logical, proposal plan and schedule to confidently arrive at a winning proposal result.

Development of bid budget and schedule baseline, and management of bid team performance according to the agreed baselines.

Drives compliance with corporate governance and approval processes, without exception.

Be a high-powered conduit that coordinates the transmission of information among the bid development team to permit quick decision-making and alignment in execution philosophies.

May lead capture planning / win-strategy planning sessions.

Facilitates risk workshops, together with the risk management team.

Gathers top-down estimates and uses benchmarking tools to support project estimating.

Authors high-impact, compelling writing for proposal sections where requisite knowledge and expertise are expected, customized to the value proposition and client pursuit objectives.

Uses mastery of English language to edit and polish near-final drafts to Atkins’ corporate communications quality standard.

Ensures the proposal closeout process is performed accurately and completely to support business financials and sales forecasting reporting.

Ensures that all assigned pursuit opportunities are fully and accurately recorded on enterprise management systems such as CRM, and other proprietary tools.

Participates in the development and maintenance of proposal content libraries.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will possess:

BSc. degree level or equivalent professional qualification. An engineering discipline or project management is preferred.

Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) is preferred.

Strong project management skills; PMP certification will be an asset.

Experience with industry recognized sales methodologies such as Shipley or Miller Heiman. APMP qualification will be a preferred asset.

A minimum of 5 years working experience in a proposals or business development or project engineering role, ideally in a professional engineering consultancy services work environment

Professional working experience in the Middle East would be an asset.

Capability and comfort working with a cross-functional team of business development, technical experts, commercial/risk, legal, marketing/proposals, human resources, and others.

A high degree of professional networking skills to quickly assimilate a strong bid team, and identify and motivate appropriate authors, section and volume leaders, subject matter experts (SMEs) and other support personnel to successfully develop a proposal.

Assertive, enthusiastic, highly organized, methodical, and flexible working traits.

Strong people leadership skills, with the ability to influence without power.

A high-level understanding of commercial and management accounting concepts.

An acute attention to detail and be recognized as a quality standard bearer.

A recognized reputation as an initiative leader with regards to continuous improvement.

The ability to work well under pressure to manage and deliver multiple simultaneous priorities.

Excellent written and spoken English, with the ability to correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, and narrative flow.

Advanced skills in Microsoft software suite (Word, Excel, Visio, Outlook, PowerPoint, Dynamics CRM) and Adobe Acrobat InDesign.

Duties :
  • Proactively manage the finance team.  Recruit, train and retain key talent.
  • Responsible for all ledgers, controls, compliance, payroll and financial processes of three legal entities
  • Understand and support operational accounting in a service center environment
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures
  • Accountable for the balance sheet and cashflow of the region
  • Timely and accurate financial reporting
  • Internal and External Audit management
  • Support commercial and operations accounting in formation of budgets and forecasts
  • Continuous improvement of financial processes, utilizing IT / ERP as appropriate
  • Member of local cross-functional management team
  • Oversight of the finance function of the Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan entities
  • Key member of the Controlling finance group
  • Support the business partnering activities for Middle East, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan
  • Ad Hoc projects and tasks as required, including ROI, move to new territories, accounting standards and continuous improvement



  • Educated to undergraduate level minimum, CPA level desirable
  • Minimum 15 years working in a global and /or large corporate and manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrable record of people management
  • Large ERP experience required, implementation experience desired
  • Change management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to think clearly, be organized and execute effectively
