Engineer - Material, Aecom, Al Ain, UAE

Job Summary

  • Responsible for obtaining approvals for materials submittal in all activities.

  • Responsible for preparing Asphalt mix designs of various types i.e. Base, Binder and wearing course, obtaining approvals from consultant\Engineers and ensuring the same to be produced from Asphalt plant.

  • Responsible for preparation of various concrete mix designs and conducted plant trials to ensuring the quality of concrete mix.

  • Responsible for interaction with consultants and client for day-to-day activities that take place at site regarding workmanship of the product quality standard maintain for the work.

  • Control of Non-Confirming product at site and inspection of all incoming materials to the site.

  • Ensuring maintenance of all Quality management documents and Record Viz plans, Inspection, test record and chick list.

  • developing, modifying, testing, and evaluating materials

  • providing technical advice about the suitability of materials diagnosing faults

  • advising on, planning, and organising inspections, maintenance, and repairs

  • overseeing operational quality control processes

  • liaising with suppliers, customers, and manufacturing/development staff

  • supervising technical staff

  • Conduct and ensure in-depth Fracture Analysis and Technical Reports.

  • Maintain cycle time objective within responsibility areas.

  • Address materials and process concerns from suppliers, manufacturing, and customers.

  • Offer material information and data to Engineering.

  • Update material logs.

  • Test at external sources.

  • Interpret results, write reports, and communicate with client representative engineers.

  • Analyse product failure data and laboratory test results in order to determine causes of problems and develop solutions.

  • Conduct or supervise tests on raw materials or finished products to ensure their quality.

  • Design and direct the testing and/or control of processing procedures.

  • Determine appropriate methods for construction of works.

  • Monitor material performance and evaluate material deterioration.

  • Plan and implement laboratory operations for the purpose of developing material testing procedures that meet project specification, and performance standards.

  • Review material submittals and make recommendations for material selection based on specification objectives, such as strength, weight, heat resistance, electrical conductivity, and cost.

Minimum Requirements

  • Confers with superiors on unusual matters.

  • Leads project-wide system audits, as directed by a more senior Quality Assurance Specialist or Program Manager.

  • Writes quality plans, procedures and audit checklists.

  • Verifies quality standards and test procedures for the design and product evaluation to attain quality economically and efficiently.

  • Provides quality assurance support to ensure that products are acquired and installed in accordance with customer and company quality requirements.

  • Ensure sampling plans, quality standards and quality control instructions are utilized in assessing the quality levels of projects and processes.

  • Documents evaluation, testing and correction.

  • Provides recommendations concerning the disposition of defective materials and maintains a continuous awareness of quality problems.

  • Compiles and writes training material and conducts training sessions on quality control activities.

  • Under general supervision, possesses and applies a broad knowledge of principles, practices and procedures to the completion of difficult assignments.

  • Completes assignments that are broad in nature, requiring originality and ingenuity.

  • May provide technical guidance to lower level engineers, technicians and inspectors.

Employee Experience Associate - Middle East, Velocity, UAE

POSITION SUMMARY

We are looking for an Employee Experience Associate - Middle East to join our growing Operations team. This position is to be based remotely within the region of the UAE. This full-time position will be responsible for driving employee satisfaction and retention among our supported employees in the region, by taking ownership and collaborating closely with both internal and external parties. This individual will report to our Employee Experience Manager MEA.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Act as the main point of contact for our client's employees in the Middle East and other designated countries, guiding them under local labor laws
Maintain close collaboration with global internal teams such as the Client Service and Payroll team, and external parties such as local service providers
Drive employee satisfaction and retention amongst the client’s employees with sincerity and passion, always with a customer service mindset
Draft, manage and update employment documents and contracts
Ensure that appropriate project deadlines are met by timely follow-up and follow-through with both internal and external parties
Educate internal teams by researching challenging questions and employee scenarios, and present solutions to the teams
Update and refresh Velocity Global's internal knowledge management tools
Develop and maintain competency in the area of international employment
QUALIFICATIONS

BSc/BA in Business Administration/Hospitality/HR Services or equivalent working experience
2+ years of Human Resources experience required
Business proficiency in the English language is required, any other language skills are a plus

Ability to quickly assimilate information; with operations across 180+ countries there is a lot to learn
Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills
Technology-literate, including Microsoft Office suite

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

Supports Europe Middle East Africa (EMEA) Multiyear Agreement (MYA) Finance Leader in forecasting and pacing margin review results, formulation of business plans and assessment of high-risk contracts through termination and deferred risk reviews. Stays informed of industry trends and macroeconomic factors which may impact long term services agreements.

Main tasks include:

  • Monitor contract margin reviews and prepare Margin Adjustment pacing tracker
  • Support formulation of business session plans (SII, OP, quarterly forecast etc.)
  • Review termination rights, help commercial teams developing strategies to protect Contractual Services Agreement (CSA)
  • Run billing escalation scenarios based on latest indices
  • Maintain Contractual Performance Management (CPM) fee catalog and cost liquidation process
  • Prepare and update deferred risk tracker for contractual service agreements
  • Support in stress testing of assets based on macroeconomic factors
  • Support the Regional Customer Services (CS) & Portfolio Health leaders in rolling out the new Portfolio Health Framework and support projects to implement new tools and processes that will help the business have a strong risk management strategy
  • Partner with the Controllership team on the quarterly impairment reviews i.e. the High-Risk Contract Reviews and ensure that the business always has an up-to-date understanding of the highest risk contracts and their estimated impact to the business
  • Engage in continuous improvement of Risk Identification and Mitigation Processes using LEAN tools and principles
  • Partner with commercial, operational, financial, and business intelligence teams on how to better utilize risk metrics and market trends for their respective benefits (sales, costs, risks, etc.) including continuously assessing the current risk reserves for their accuracy and effectiveness.
  • Lead /coach / mentor Finance Management Programs (FMP) and inspire peers and partner functions

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in finance or relevant area in Energy industry
  • Proactive attitude to simplify processes and tools
  • Commitment to excellence and team work
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Fluent in English

The role will also be involved in delivery of HR strategies within an assigned area, and providing an HR consultancy/generalist support to the business area.  

Accountabilities

•    Serve as a trusted advisor to Business leads, offering guidance and thought on a range of people related topics (e.g., culture, inclusion, development team effectiveness, engagement, Operating modules, Business continuity )
•    Provide effective and timely support and guidance to management on people management practices and best practice, and ensuring that people managers are empowered with the right tools and HR knowledge to run their day-to-day business
•    Represent the business on People challenges that drive an exceptional employee experience (e.g., Policies and Processes, Total rewards diversity, retention, engagement)
•    Partner with assigned business leaders to define and deliver respective talent strategy that are relevant to the business and aligns with EAG’s Talent Philosophy and Business Strategy
•    Implement an engagement strategy with business leaders, and stakeholders to ensure the workforce of the respective departments are highly engaged and motivated
•    Promote and use talent and succession planning for business areas to ensure internal talent are being developed and groomed for future roles. 
•    Engage with the business on an ongoing basis to keep up to date with business needs and requirements 
•    Drive change management initiatives driven by HR that impact the business and ensure appropriate communication and engagement plans with the business. 
•    Engage with the business on performance management and implement improvement plans and ensure alignment with performance management principles

Education & Experience

•    Bachelor’s degree is a must preferably in HR or Business Management. 
•    + 6 years’ experience in 2 or more HR disciplines and/or HR generalist role
•    Strong business acumen and experience leading HR initiatives beyond the scope of steady-state support of the business
•    Experience of leading HR initiatives in an organisation which prioritises talent and employee experience

At E.K. Kanoo, we are looking for a Job Controller for our Vehicle Leasing division who will report to the Operations ManagerThe ideal candidate for this role will have good English & Arabic communication skills both written and verbal, presentable, customer oriented, excellent communication skills, computer literate. You should have completed a Diploma or Technical School Certificate with 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in related work.

 

About the Role

 

You will be responsible for job card’s distribution among the workshop technicians based on priority and completion time, updating the service advisor on job status and delivery time, obtaining customers approval through appropriate channel for any additional jobs, monitor the job dispatch/progress and contribute to ensuring the time taken, manager the team of job planners and the work they execute, assigning suitable staff for the workshop team and other job planning related duties, ensuring manpower availability for the jobs scheduled in coordination with the manager and plan the leave schedule accordingly. You will be responsible for job flow, tracking, monitoring, parts ordering, invoicing and on time delivery of the GR job, coordinate with other departments and outside personnel on all necessary matters. Prepare Daily, weekly, monthly reports to highlight service-related performance, issue, pending jobs, analysis etc.
