Job Description:

Role:

Assist Director Safety/Quality Assurance in the establishment and implementation of a job safety programs. Supervises the program to identify and eliminate or control hazards to persons or property at each facility. Represents the Program in all safety matters pertaining to internal and external activities. Monitors Program safety performance and conducts facility safety inspections and audits.

Responsibilities:

Assists the Director Safety/Quality Assurance in the establishment and management of the job safety program.

Performs safety functions within the scope of the job safety program and within the limits of his capability.

Performs accidents record analysis, and issues reports on a regularly scheduled basis.

Monitors the safety performance of all employees, or in respect to one or more functions of the job safety program.

May perform non-safety functions; however, safety duties are given a greater priority than non-safety functions.

Conducts safety audits through review and analysis of performance of safety records and safety inspections of facilities in compliance with SHARP Management.

Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Qualifications:
Bachelors in Health or Safety related field, or equivalent and typically 10+ years of relevant experience is preferred, together with professional memberhips (preferred)

Requires knowledge of local and industry best standards for health and safety regulations and reporting procedures, as well as strong written and oral communication skills.

The Opportunity and Requirements

Successful candidate will be responsible to assist in the management of an assigned product group within the context of the business’s overall goals and objectives, specifically in delivering consistency across all marketing initiatives. Proven track record of delivering results in a competitive environment

Job Description

Lead the entire tax function and be primarily responsible for all tax related matters at Gulftainer.
Comply with the VAT reporting requirements under the UAE VAT law and for Saudi subsidiaries under the Saudi VAT law.
Independently manage all the day-to-day VAT affairs for the company and address any tax queries from Tax authorities; coordinate and work closely with consultants, other departments business units, and auditors to ensure tax compliances.
Prepare and file monthly VAT returns; lead, plan, implement, file and comply with the UAE corporate tax returns and also manage the corporate tax planning and filing for the business entities in UAE, Saudi, USA and other applicable jurisdictions.

Desired Candidate Profile

Review Contractor’s proposed subcontractor(s) associated with the engineering works from a technical standpoint.
Undertake general project site observation/inspection of the mechanical services works for Contractor’s adherence to the approved shop drawings and Consultant’s specification, good working practices, and construction schedule.
Monitor and promote health and safety on the site. Record and report any breaches to the project manage . If required, stop the construction works if unsafe practices are being followed.
Be available to undertake off-site inspections of proposed equipment and materials as may be deemed necessary by the Project Manager.
Undertake a prior review of the Contractor’s proposed mechanical system testing & commissioning methods and schedule – MEP Engineer roles and responsibilities.
Witness on-site piped system pressure test, air conditioning duct leakage testing, and other testing that may be required during the first fix works and advise the Project Director accordingly.
On a spot basis, witness mechanical system final testing and commissioning.
Review and comment on the Contractor’s testing and commissioning results and advise the Project Director accordingly.
Maintain an ongoing list of mechanical services defects for the contractor’s remedial action.
Undertake final project snagging and prepare a list of defects for the Contractor’s action.
Attend project, site progress, and any mechanical services-related technical meetings directed by the project manager.
Prepare draft site/engineer’s instructions relating to the mechanical building services, as required, and issue to the Project Manager.
Provide advice to the Project Director regarding any mechanical services related to variable costs that the Contractor may claim during the works.
Review and comment on the Contractor’s Operation and Maintenance manuals.

5 years experience in the UAE
