Senior Real Estate & Facilities Spec, Mcdermott, Dubai, UAE

Job Overview:

This position will be reporting to Manager Real Estate and Facilities- Middle East

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Handling day-to day Facility Management and Facility Management Team
  • Space and Resource Planning
  • Day to Day FM Coordination with Vendors/service contractors
  • Handing Transport function and Transport Team
  • Involvement in Real Estate Costs for BIDS and New Projects
  • Communication with landlords for day to day requirement (excluding commercial aspects)
  • Communication with vendors (through SCM for commercial aspects)
  • CapEx planning, documentation and involvement
  • Facility/HSE compliance responsibilities
  • Building maintenance responsibilities
  • Execution of personnel relocations
  • FM related documentation preparations (Service Work Orders, Purchase requisitions)
  • Record keeping of Facilities assets, parking etc
  • Maintaining accurate and live occupancy/vacancy charts 
  • Interfacing with Clients as required regarding Facility related matters
  • Budget forecasting
  • Liaising with Authorities on Compliance matters in relation with the office building

Essential Qualifications and Education:

  • 5 Years local experience
  • 2 years min. in a similar role with a MNC
  • Bachelors Degree/ Facility Management Degree/ Engineering/Architectural Degree
  • Project Management skill set for CapEx involvement
  • Be a self-starter and automonous operator with leadership skills
  • Excellent Presentation/Communication skills
  • High level of written and verbal communication in English (Arabic is an advantage)
  • Excellent organizational skills, assertiveness and pro-active mind-set
  • Proven track record with references 6. Software knowledge on Microsoft Word, Power-point, Excel essential
  • Technical knowledge of Building Management is a plus

This position is responsible for creating and coordinating strategic communications for HR – internally such as employee and business messages, and externally inclusive of media responses. The role will lead the development of divisional and project communication plans in addition to leveraging and enhancing new and existing communication channels with a creative vision to advance HR strategies and initiatives. 

This role is required to regularly create executive level and employee communications, including workforce messages, internal and external speaking notes, presentations, video scripts, community posts e.g., Yammer, change collateral, and draft contributions to corporate communications. This role will represent the division in organisational and business forums to ensure that HR communications needs are being met and that there is a consistency of voice/tone/style for all HR messaging
 

Accountabilities

•    Develop the strategic communications plan to rollout and continuously reinforce the HR vision/mission and principles of the Etihad employee experience, and ensure the achievement of the plan’s objectives 
•    Develop communication approaches and plans for HR programmes and initiatives 
•    Lead the annual development of an integrated internal engagement and communications strategy to support and reinforce workforce culture initiatives
•    Create and maintain a HR Communications Playbook, aligned to internal branding and style guides, to support the creation of HR messages and ensure a consistent voice/tone/style for communications as aligned to employee personas
•    Lead the development of leadership and strategic communication content for internal newsletters, corporate and divisional collateral, and other materials for and on behalf of the leadership team
•    Lead the preparation and editing of speeches, presentations, quotes, talking points or scripts for events – internal and external, as well as collateral such as videos, blogs, and social media
•    Act as a trusted advisor working in partnership with HR leaders and stakeholders to integrate messages and recommend approaches in support of broader divisional and business priorities
•    Build relationships with communication partners such as Corporate Communications and business communication champions to effectively delivery timely and relevant communications
Other:
•    Maintain and enhance the HR presence on all corporate channels such as the intranet and Yammer
•    Support communication, branding and editing needs for HR platforms such as the HR knowledge library and HR systems
•    Support ad hoc business needs from stakeholders in relation to external social media requirements

Education & Experience

•    Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English Literature, Journalism, Creative Writing, or a related field
•    Minimum of 8 years in a communications, journalism, or similar role 
•    Exceptionally strong ability to communicate in English, both in writing and verbally with excellent editing skills. Arabic would be considered an added advantage
•    Experience working with senior executives and business leaders to develop strategic, project and operational communication plans and messages
•    Proven track record of developing and executing successful communication campaigns including the ability to convert complex subjects into easy-to-understand communications for local and international workforces through a variety of channels
•    Excellent project management, time management skills and attention to detail
•    Demonstrated ability to think creatively

At our Dubai MRO Centre located in Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA), we are specialists in the maintenance, repair and overhaul of aircraft systems. As part of our planned continued expansion, we require experienced individuals who will contribute to our success, whilst upholding our reputation as a leading provider of quality MRO services with customers. An opportunity has arisen for an Engineer within our Dubai Landing Gear Team in Jebel Ali Free Zone, Dubai. This site is part of Interiors, Services & Support, a global business unit of Collins Aerospace.  This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a diverse team.

Essential Responsibilities & Objectives

  • To perform production planning Engineering functions within the Landing gear value stream

  • Evaluate incoming configuration of landing gears, assess required changes to Bill of materials based on customer defined workscope and create outgoing configuration based on contractual requirements

  • Evaluate Service bulletins, create and issue appropriate task cards, and update Bill of materials in SAP

  • Define workscope requirements for subcontract repair requisitions

  • Create Proposed repairs for engineering submittals and create shop findings reports to document all repairs before delivery to end use customer

  • Standard Engineering tasks to ensure customer delivery dates and contractual requirements are met with specified levels of quality.

  • Manage and provide technical support in the investigation, repair and overhaul of A380 Landing gear Components undergoing overhaul at the Dubai facility

  • Provide technical support and instructions to customers or vendors at their locations, when required.

  • Ability to work with all levels of the organization to develop, communicate and achieve tactical and strategic goals in areas such as COPQ reduction, Quality and delivery assurance through reduction of production issues. 

  • Develop systems and processes which establish and maximize flow within the business unit.

  • Ensure that technical instructions covering repair procedures mandated by the Component Maintenance Manual’s, service bulletins, service letters, and airworthiness directives are incorporated into task cards.

  • Guarantee received material meets customer build-standard.  Ensure integrity of rotable assets remain complete by performing Bill of materials reconciliation process.

  • Provide direction and support to Ops team to ensure quality and schedule priorities are integrated

  • Ensure continuous improvement of the products and/or services provided.

  • Liaise with Technical support and Field service support teams as required to support customer activities

  • Support investigations and technical queries from Customer.

  • Develop and provide training to enhance technical capability of repair base

Financial & Business

  • Achieve budgeted throughput and productive man hours within OT/DCI parameters.

  • Achieve profit assurance goals.

  • Responsible for actively promoting an ethics-based business culture in his/her organization

  • Awareness of and full compliance with RTX One Collins Culture including completion of Required ethics and compliance training.

  • Demonstrate commitment to the EH&S policy and Quality Policy by following all policies & procedures

  • Work with CSR to develop and implement customer and engineering solutions, while improving customer satisfaction (MFA).

  • Complying with EH&S requirements & safe workplace practices when performing duties with due concern for all other persons.

  • Support improvements to eliminate or reduce workplace risks.

  • Immediately reporting & responding as appropriate to any hazardous condition.

Experience / Requirements / Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering or Diploma in aircraft engineering with at least 3 years relevant experience in an engineering production planning, technical services, configuration engineering or repairs engineering role required

  • Experience in interpreting Blueprints and technical documents required

  • Knowledge or experience with Landing gears is preferred.

  • Strong understanding of relevant industry standards and specifications.

  • Strong teamwork and leadership abilities.

  • Strong interpersonal skills at all levels of the organization.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to multi-task, and work under pressure in time-sensitive situations.

Job Purpose

 Job Outline:

This activity involves Take-off Performance- Constant monitoring, validation, and update of airport databases. Design, validate, and implement of Engine Out procedures. En-route Performance. Design, validate, and implement escape procedures for Drift down and Depressurisation. Landing - Design, validate, and implement Landing and Go-Around Procedures.Performance Applications: Manage all aspects of EFB performance applications
- Support and guidance to Dispatch and Pilots with regards to any query or issues faced during operations. Evaluate and implement policies and procedures related to special aircraft performance such as Dispatch with Landing Gear Down, Three Engines Ferry Flight, and Dispatch under MEL items etc
- Design, validate and produce Aircraft Load & Trimsheet and Aircraft Handling Manual ( AHM) based on Weight & Balance Manual and Weight Report.
- To act as a SME for Flight Operations Engineering to monitor, review and provide solution to operational engineering issues faced on day-to-day operation. This involves analysing Voyage Reports, Captain Special Reports, Air Safety Reportsand providing necessary operations engineering solution. Co-ordinate with all concerned departments like Engineering, Cargo, Dispatch, Quality and Safety etc. to find and implement the most optimum solution for a given problem.
- To act as Flight Operations SME for co-ordination with Engineering department for evaluation and implementation of aircraft Service Bulletins, ADs, Modifications, and development of Aircraft Specifications.
- Support the Line Manager in Fleet Planning and Route Planning activities using Performance Applications and Flight Planning Tool. Assist in the process of aircraft and engine evaluation and selection. Participate in Aircraft Performance Guarantees and Warranties establishment, monitoring, and verification.
- Support in management of operational data coming from several sources within the company. Development and maintenance of databases & dashboards and application of data analytics to support business decisions for improvement of operational efficiency.
- Coordinate and supervise technical contents, customisation, revision, and production of Flight Crew Operating Manual (FCOM), Quick Reference Handbook (QRH) and Minimum Equipment List (MEL) for all Emirates aircraft. This involves follow up of in-service related operational issues such as management of Flight Operations Transmissions (FOT), MOMs, Temporary Revisions (TRs), Operational Engineering Bulletin (OEBs). To ensure that all operational documentation and data is updated in a timely manner in accordance with UAE GCAA regulations and Company policy.
- To support Flight Data Monitoring (FDM) process related to data capture, retrieval, analysis and reporting
- Participate in Test and Check flights as Test Flight Engineer. Conduct Performance Courses for Emirates pilots.
Qualifications & Experience
Total Experience 8+ years with at least 5 years relevant to Flight Operations and Aircraft Performance of an established commercial airline or aircraft manufacturer.

 Engineering Degree (12+3 or equivalent) :

 Aeronautical Engineer or equivalent professional qualification Experience in Flight Operations Engineering. Knowledge/skills Proven knowledge of Operations Engineering Procedures of a large Commercial Airline. Sound knowledge of Aircraft Systems and Aircraft Performance principles and applications. Competent in use of Manufacturers Operations Engineering Software Applications. Good knowledge of Aircraft Documentations and JAR-OPS regulations. Experience in development and implementation of operational projects. Experience of team building and supervision of technical staff. Ability to work under pressure.

Principal Instrumentation Engineer, Mcdermott, UAE

Job Overview:

Perform conceptual, FEED, and detailed analyses and design as per design basis, project specifications, design codes and standards. Apply in-depth skills and broad knowledge of the business to address complex problems and nonstandard situations. Prepare clear and accurate detailed design calculations and analyses including design reports and procedures. Manage own time to meet objectives, and (as Lead Engineer) forecast and plan resource requirements. Clearly communicate and explain difficult concepts and persuade others to adopt a point of view. Work experience in green field Offshore Oil & Gas Wellhead platform. Experience in Compression platform, Living quarters to be highlighted

When acting as Lead Engineer, in addition: Direct small or medium Automation & Instrumentation Engineering team as a Lead Engineer; Lead the Discipline engineering design of the assigned work area and complete within planned schedule and budget, in accordance with standards, MDR and project-specific procedures and to a high professional standard; Plan, organize and direct all aspects of Discipline execution on the assigned project including scope, deliverables, schedule and all manpower resources - agree allocations with the Discipline Manager; Ensure interfaces and deliverables are clearly identified; Maintain responsibility for progress and productivity, identifying any required corrective action; Act as project representative for the Discipline during meetings with Project Team, Customer discipline lead and relevant agencies such as certifying authorities, auditors, third parties, etc.
      
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Become fully familiar with the project scope of work, specifications, schedule and all inter-discipline requirements; including identifying concerns as early as practicable and taking appropriate initiatives to address the issues. Interpret contractual requirements as they relate to engineering execution.
  • Identify changes to scope and promptly raise change notifications, including providing any necessary supporting documentation and estimates. Provide similar support for Variation Orders.
  • Interface with all disciplines to develop clash free designs.
  • Interface with other departments to obtain input for Discipline designs and drawings.
  • Maintain close co-ordination with other engineering disciplines, Planning, Fabrication, Marine, and Project Management Team, as required.
  • Document substantive communications (communications that result in significant decisions or assignment of actions) and forward copies to Discipline Lead Engineer and Discipline Manager.
  • Prepare estimates for bid proposals, including technical query reviews, execution statements and manhour estimates, identifying software requirements and any other project-specific requirements.
  • Raise technical queries to obtain missing information, clarify work scope, and to maintain preferred McDermott procedures, specifications, standards, practices and operational requirements.
  • Prepare, review, and (as Lead Engineer) approve Discipline engineering design basis, philosophies, and technical specifications.
  • Participate in finalizing deliverables lists and deliverables, ensuring compliance with specifications and functional integrity.
  • Review project schedule and fabrication schedule in relation to construction sequence, milestones, and engineering scope.
  • Attend project kickoff and review meetings, vendor meetings, engineering meetings and offshore site surveys, as required.
  • Provide technical direction and review of Designers producing products related to Automation & Instrumentation Engineering.
  • Prepare, review, and (as Lead Engineer) approve design reports and procedures.
  • Assist in providing necessary design inputs to other disciplines to enable them in proceeding with their deliverables.
  • Assist procurement personnel in procuring Discipline equipment, materials and services; ensuring that work produced complies with Customer objectives and procedures. Procurement assistance includes preparing, reviewing, and (as Lead Engineer) approving requisitions, evaluating technical quotations and preparing queries, compiling bid tabulations and recommendations, preparing purchase requisitions, and coordinating with Procurement to expedite vendor documents, as directed by Discipline Lead Engineer.
  • Assist in updating weight report based on receipt of vendor information.
  • Review and (as Lead Engineer) approve vendor and subcontractor submittals, checking for compliance with project specifications and providing comments as necessary.
  • Review and (as Lead Engineer) approve design verification through single-discipline check / interdiscipline check (IDC).
  • Provide technical support to fabrication queries, including identifying defect / rectification requirements.
  • Keep the Discipline Manager and Project Management Team apprised of all activities and concerns, technical, budgetary and manpower related.
  • Assist in providing inputs for actual, planning and forecasting progress reports including associated productivity.
  • Check final subcontractor and vendor data manuals to ensure that all requested data has been received and approved.
  • Present issues and problems to Customers in a timely manner and assist Lead Engineer in negotiating resolution in accordance with project and company requirements.
  • Perform (as required) Technical Quality Audit reviews in accordance with MDR Global Procedures.
  • Assist Lead Engineer with responses to Customer and other agencies (such as certifying authorities, auditors, third parties, etc.) on their review and approval.
  • Capture lessons learned and enter into MDR's Lessons Learned system.
  • Capture Knowledge Objects and enter into MDR's K.now system.
  • Guide less experienced engineers on MDR and Discipline procedures, standards, worksheets, design calculations, software, requisitions, technical bid evaluations, technical queries, etc.
  • Supervise and guide assigned engineers and coordinate with project Lead Designers for Discipline engineering and design deliverables.
  • Responsible for the engineering integrity of the assigned work area.
  • Monitor costs of own work processes.
  • Assist in the maintenance of departmental technical guidelines and standard calculation notes.
  • Participate in development and maintenance of Global Procedures, Software, and Standards.
  • May participate in standards development committees or task groups such as API.
  • Develop communication and presentation skills (e.g., write technical papers, participate in conferences and/or seminars, present design solutions, and/or present topics at "lunch and learns"; etc.).
  • Identify and provide training to staff in specific techniques and proprietary software.
  • Provide information on employee performance to the Discipline Manager.
  • Assist Discipline manager in interviewing job applicants.
  • Experience in Field instrument selection and  sizing
  • Prepare, review, and (as Lead Engineer) approve automation system definition, philosophy, specifications, safety drawings, and system architecture including field instruments, choke valves, actuated valves, Wellhead Control Panel, Hydraulic Panel for topside and subsea actuated valves. (OEM experience to be highlighted)
  • Experience in handling various mechanical Packages in Offshore Oil & Gas Platforms.
  • Prepare, review, and (as Lead Engineer) approve ESD logic (as applicable)/cause-&-effect diagrams and F&G logic (as applicable)/cause-&-effect diagrams.
  • Prepare / review Functional Safety deliverables including SIL Term of reference, SIL assessment report, SIL verification report, Safety Life Cycle Plan, Safety Requirement Specification (TUV/Exida  certification to be highlighted)
  • Highlight work experience SIL verification
  • Review and (as Lead Engineer) approve specifications and data sheets for Automation and Instrumentation equipment.
  • Review and (as Lead Engineer) approve A&l equipment spare parts lists.
  • Review and (as Lead Engineer) approve inputs to P&lD development and markups based on receipt of vendor information.
  • Review and (as Lead Engineer) approve A&l equipment testing procedures.
  • Attend A&l equipment FATS, as required.
  • Participate in HAZOP, SIL, and Classification Studies, as required.
  • Assist in close out of HAZOP /SIL/CHAZOP/Alarm rationalization/Cybersecurity   action items.
  • Provide construction, precommissioning, and offshore commissioning support, as required.
  • Participate in automation testing, as required.
  • When acting as Lead Engineer, in addition:
    • Act as project-based Discipline point of contact in communications and meetings with Customer counterparts.
    • Ensure substantive communications are documented.
    • Prepare bid's and project's Discipline engineering budget and execution plans, updating as required.
    • Identify project staff needs based on knowledge of individual engineer's skill sets and provide requests to the Discipline manager.
    • Plan, organize and assign tasks, responsibilities, and manhour budgets to the discipline team, and verify tasks are completed within budgets.
    • Plan Discipline Level 4 detail deliverable schedule/ register compliant with the overall execution plan.
    • Prepare working forecasts identifying change management plans, corrective action and realtime schedule.
    • Provide Discipline inputs for actual, planning and forecasting progress reports including associated productivity.
    • Alert project team of any deviation from the scope or a need for change order.
    • Monitor KPI measurement results, and take corrective action as necessary to improve Discipline performance, including performance at interfaces with others.
    • Coordinate with other Discipline Lead Engineers and Designers to ensure timely receipt of necessary design inputs.
    • Review and approve requisitions, technical quotation evaluations and queries, compiled bid tabulations and recommendations, and purchase requisitions; and coordinate with Procurement to expedite vendor documents as required.
    • Lead the Discipline team during project audits (internal, Customer and third party technical audits) and Design Reviews.
    • Review comments from Customers & other agencies on documents and drawings produced by the team, and resolve and give guidance on their update and incorporation.
    • Assist Discipline manager in the preparation of quarterly forecasts and manpower planning.
    • Anticipate project engineering needs and plan accordingly.
    • Coordinate with vendor for discipline managed/procured items.
    • Assist Discipline manager and Project Engineering Manager or Project Manager in Performance Evaluation of project team members.

Essential Qualifications and Education:

  • Bachelor Degree in Chemical, Electrical, or Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering
  • 20+ yrs in oil and gas with major contractor or consultant predominantly performing detail design of offshore facilities
  • Detailed knowledge of design techniques and analysis methods, and detailed knowledge of the theory, content and application of standards, codes and guidelines as applicable for offshore. Knowledgeable in project coordination and execution skills.

Preferred Qualifications and Education:

  • Master Degree is Preferred
  • Preferably Registered Professional Engineer or member of professional engineering society
