Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?

  • You will routinely engage with and deliver to C-level, VP and Director level executives, both internal to VMware, and externally with VMware clients, providing perspective and guidance on long-term business/technology strategy, investments, and innovation, drawing upon the depth and breadth of your technical, business and service management knowledge.
  • The Transformation Consultant acts as a trusted advisor to assist customers in driving increased value realization from their IT services by delivering solutions that utilize modern practices to adapt customer operating models in support of their multi-cloud strategy.
  • Ensures that the customer is guided with clear vision with end state in mind, providing the customer with the necessary transformative guidance across People, Practices and Technology focus areas in support of their business objectives.
  • The Transformation Consultant is a delivery role, which combines the competencies of strategy consulting, thought leadership and IT transformation.

What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be utilising on a regular basis?

  • Strategically plan with the customer to build out customer transformation journeys and delivery roadmaps.
  • Review customer practices and operating models, define improvement roadmaps and assist customers with the implementation of recommendations utilizing industry best practices and driving the adoption of VMware solutions.
  • Deliver and facilitate workshops designed to drive customer outcomes within projects, influencing business and IT strategy through the delivery of Transformation Consulting service offerings.
  • Develop, contribute to and promote awareness of Transformation Consulting Portfolio Services and delivery best practices.
  • Design and implement modern practices utilizing industry recognized frameworks, such as ITIL, DevOps, SCRUM, Agile etc.
  • Assist team growth by contributing to delivery excellence training, cross team collaboration and knowledge sharing of good practices.
  • Develop a high-level technical knowledge of the VMware product line and keep abreast of future product direction.
  • Establish solid working relationships with VMware strategic account teams, sales leadership, professional services, product management, and executive staff to drive awareness of the Transformation Consulting service awareness across EMEA.

What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team like?

The hiring manager for this role is Manish Raj, Transformation Consulting leader in EMEA.  Manish is a Senior Professional Services Leader with 19 years of experience in IT/Cloud service delivery, business excellence, and transformation consulting with leading international Cloud providers.  The EMEA PS team is focused on outcomes, not just activity, with clear and consistent direction on our north star.  It is critical the entire team are aligned to our common purpose and work together to achieve our goals.  We are fast-paced, ambitious and successful.  We set ourselves a high bar and take pride in meeting it. 

Where is this role located?

Flexible: The location of this role is Riyadh KSA for locally based profiles as we do not offer relocation.  Work will be done from an office some days during the week and other days from home or a non-VMware building

Job Description:

Frost & Sullivan is seeking interns from reputed Universities for its Riyadh office in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to support our strategic plans and market development activities. The internship is for a minimum period of 3 months to 6 months The position offers a unique opportunity to learn about market research and associated activities. You will work closely with functional and industry leaders in the region, as well as likely exposure to live interaction with the senior management team of client organizations.

 

Project Name: ‘Olympus’

Develop an accurate database and information repository on family business in Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and other GCC countries. Also, provide support on certain on-going projects in research, advisory, marketing groups  in terms of data collection, interviews, etc

 

About the Project: 

Frost & Sullivan seeks to understand the economic landscape contributed to and shaped by family businesses (hereinafter referred to as ‘family groups’ or ‘FG’). An understanding of contribution to economic growth, evolution and historical performances of family groups, their growth priorities and challenges, expansion plans – within and outside the Kingdome – especially in the context of alignment to KSA’s Vision 2030, and its demands on family groups.

 

 

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities for the Intern:

Collect a range of data and intelligence on FGs through primary and secondary research. Key deliverables include the following:

  • Developing a master list of all large 50 FGs in the GCC region
  • Type of industries invested or operating in; mapped to Frost & Sullivan’s verticals
  • Names of sub-groups, and companies therein, legal entity names, public or private, website
  • Key decision makers and influencers, and contact information; familiary with Frost & Sullivan
  • Nature of engagement (for each company): investment vs operations
  • Geographic coverage, level of exports, strategic partners and JVs
  • Future plans: expansion of existing business, portfolio changes, future plans in terms of new businesses, investments, acquisitions and partnerships
  • Prior history of dealing with advisory and consultancy firms; history of such engagements over the last 3 years, advisory firms worked with
  • Develop critical industry insights
  • Develop industry and company profiles
  • Prioritization of FGs – based on preliminary assessment
  • Quantification of opportunities for Frost & Sullivan in terms of value ($), type of advisory wor
  • Provide project based support in terms of data collection, interviews, etc as needed for Research, Advisory or marketing groups.

Qualifications

  • Self-driven and able to work independently
  • Understanding of market research and/or strategic marketing techniques
  • Secondary research skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication (Arabic and English)
  • Responsive to critical situations / adherence to timelines and milestones
