Senior Sales Engineer - Automotive Replacement, Gates, Dammam, KSA

As a Senior Sales Engineer you are responsible for:
  1. Responsible for planning, follow-up and development of the sales actions and activities to existing and prospective customers in Saudi Arabia
  2. Assists Distributors in handling Gates product lines. Responsible for the achievement of sales goals and assuring market penetration for all Gates Product Divisions/Markets (Automotive Aftermarket). 
  3. Responsible for all aspects of jobbers, garages and distributor follow-up and for all administrative related activities.
  4. Works with customers on purchasing and technical level to discuss problem areas or business opportunities
  5. To create an awareness of Gates E & S amongst clients and potential customers by providing information on Gates" product range, expertise in providing solution
  6. Understands all aspects of the market and competition. Translates strategies into market specific actions to support the Gates brand and market shares. Market studies are essential to define the right actions.
  7. Responsible for maintaining good commercial relations with Gates customers/prospects and providing them all commercial and technical information to help them to achieve sales budgets.
  8. Provide good Interface between the company & distributors for all required information
  9. Identify distributor requirements and offer Gates E & S scope of supply and explore new areas of business development. Ensure high level of customer satisfaction through effective customer service, technical assistance & prompt after sales service.
  10. In case of contracts to read, interpret & understand all requirements of the customer.
  11. Reports directly to the Geomarket Manager KSA
  12. Managing the expenses related to the assigned budget. 
  13. Implements Gates" sales methods at customers
  14. Performs market studies upon request and collects the required data related to competitive activities. 
  15. To ensure that all company procedures are followed with regard to raising and processing of sales invoices.
  16. Liaise with Supply Chain & Purchasers to manage the appropriate stocking levels (inventory) to ensure that client orders are fulfilled in a timely manner.
  17. Recommend, develop and maintain the customer database, Daily reports, and Competitors activity in the computer system
  18. Recommend to maintain all opportunities in correct stages so as to have correct information with management to achieve company objectives.
Required Experience:
  1. Requires technical or commercial (with technical background) degree
  2. Minimum 2 - 3 years of experience in the similar type of function.
  3. Ability to plan, schedule and prioritize the activities.
  4. Ability to work under own initiative and solve problems.
  5. Experience in managing a customer account and distributors
  6. Must have strong selling skills: previous experience highly preferred.
  7. Willingness to work a flexible work schedule.
  8. Ability to resolve common problems and concerns of customers in a professional manner.
 
Required Skills:
  1. Experience in communicating with a variety of groups/customers at different knowledge levels; strong presentation skills
  2. Diplomacy, availability, punctuality, product knowledge, discretion, personality, organizational skills, self-motivator / self-starter, market knowledge, the ability to solve problems and to communicate on every level are indispensable in order to do this job properly.
  3. Being methodical, dynamic, having a positive attitude, a good sense of analysis and of synthesis, inquisitiveness and a sense of responsibility are also required.  Being able to use Gates marketing philosophy and work independently.  Integrity and honesty are a must.
  4. Knowledge of customer in the area with product & service requirement
  5. Ability to read and interpret drawings, manuals and documents.
  6. Possesses managerial skills such as organizing, coordinating, integrating, directing and controlling.
  7. Highly organized with real attention to detail.
  8. Proven leadership capabilities and experience.
  9. Excellent English command both written and verbally; Strong communicator. (Arabic would be an advantage).
  10. Professionalism and ability to exercise discretion with confidential information at all times is required.
  11. Awareness of Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental standards, policies and procedures.
  12. Good numerical, analytical, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  13. Strong personality with a commercial and business acumen.

Data Visualization tools and MS Office skills: Advanced level experience in Excel reporting & PowerPoint, and ability to own, develop and maintain dashboards in Power BI, Tableau

Overview

An excellent opportunity has become available to join Elliott Group in our Abu Dhabi office as a Shared Service Centre (SSC) Senior Accountant. The purpose of this role is to Coordinate and record the detailed activities involved in the reporting of financial results.  This position may also control the administration of computerized accounting systems.

 The purpose includes but is not limited to:

  •  Day to day Control and management of the SSC daily activities including managing accountants in the local team when and as needed.
  • Preparation and oversight of administration and commercial documents (customer invoicing, vendor payments)
  • Effectively use the computerized accounting system.
  • Prepare, Manage and control of financial/operational intra-group communications.
  • Preparation of financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and IFRS
  • Product line review and reporting to operations
  • Maintain Compliance with internal control policy & practice.
  • Responsible for Department training, appraisals and payroll approvals.
  • Support the Business Unit Financial Analyst in preparation of a wide variety of financial and business analyses for financial and general management. Support must include assessments, observations, recommendations and summaries to assist management in taking appropriate actions and decision making.
  • Direction, coordination and consolidation of actual results in line with defined monthly schedule and supporting the Financial Analyst in detailing the actual results.

 The successful candidate will be meticulous, enthusiastic and demonstrates a “can do” attitude.

Responsibilities

As a (SSC) Senior Accountant, your main responsibilities will involve: 

 

General         

  • Working on Project accounting and supporting finance manager in the UK
  • Supports the day to day running of the SSC accounting department(s) ensuring adherence to Company and Departmental policies and procedures, responsible for department training and appraisal.
  • Assign and schedule responsibilities and objectives to subordinates, review progress, appraise performance, provide guidance and maintain time schedules.

 

Accounting

  • Ensure the accurate, consistent, and timely recording and reporting of financial data of the Business Unit in accordance with local and corporate required schedules.
  • Ensure compliance of Business Unit accounting activities to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, and Elliott Company Policies and Procedures.
  • Responsible for coordinating the input of all source data into the computerized accounting system including the recognition of accruals and prepayments to ensure a proper month end cut off.
  • Reconciling balances in the general ledger to ensure accuracy of data and to analyze accruals and reserves.
  • Ensure the proper maintenance of control systems to safeguard Business Unit assets and to effectively monitor operations.
  • Ensure Segregation of Responsibility & adherence to Work Instructions
  • Ensure accurate backlog & financial support of the WIP / Production meetings
  • Inform Finance Manager of all significant financial matters as they arise.
  • Interpret and report information so that action may be taken to enhance operating results.
  • Direct, train and encourage the growth of staff to achieve accounting and clerical functions necessary to the BU ( as needed ).
  • Responsible of accurate and timely internal & customer billing
  • Oversee month end closing
  • Review & Approval of monthly account reconciliations
  • Physical Inventory (Stock & WIP)
  • Ensure weekly bookings, sales and backlog is updated and accurate.
  • Ensure GAAP (US GAAP and IFRS) revenue recognition and accurate cost

 

Treasury

  • Review of the cash flow.
  • Support Credit & Collections and recommend adequate reserves
  • Review credit control through the Corporate Credit Department.

 

Other

  • Manage and maintain internal and external financial controls as per corporate policy, including adherence to JSOX.
  • Undertake special assignments and projects as directed by the Accounting Manager and Finance Managers

Qualifications

As a (SSC) Senior Accountant, your skills and qualifications will ideally include:

  •  B.S. in Accounting or Finance, and five years of experience in the accounting area, plus some knowledge of related finance activities.
  • Experience in working in or for the European market
  • Professional qualification ACCA, CMA, CA, CPA or similar
  • Sufficient knowledge of US GAAP and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
  • Expert in the computerized systems used to support the organization’s accounting and finance operations.
  • Communication skills, verbal and written, are essential.
  • Expert knowledge of accounting principles and company procedures.
  • Strong capability with computerized accounting systems.
  • Thorough understanding of the company's business and markets.
  • Extensive knowledge of company's business plans and financial goals.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).

Role Purpose:

The Senior Manager - International Taxation is responsible for all tax aspects and operations including tax strategy, tax management monitoring and controls, tax planning and tax optimization, tax advisory to operations & various functions at corporate. Role Details – Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Stay up to date with the latest relevant tax legislative changes and support prepare the group for implementation of changes in tax regimes (such as: VAT, UAE corporate tax, transfer pricing, etc.); specifically: tax impact assessment, transaction flows analysis, trainings & advisory and systems updates and implementation support
Provide guidance/training to local country tax teams and review foreign provision packages, tax returns and tax disclosures in consolidated statutory financial statements
Initiate and execute tax optimization and tax planning opportunities
Ensure optimization and simplification of legal entity structure of the group from a tax and regulatory perspective
Keep account of tax contingencies (or potential contingencies) associated to key tax positions taken in operating countries. Identify tax risks by working together with corporate, regional and local finance and business personnel and optimize those tax risks
Strategically participate in tax due diligence and structuring related to new openings, mergers & acquisition and divestures. Perform tax due diligence for targets, develop tax efficient acquisition structuring and post-acquisition integration plans
Design and implementation of transfer pricing policies & procedures at the international head office level and support countries to ensure compliance on these aspects. Preparation and management of transfer pricing documentation and allocation workings to support internal TP framework
Support Parent Group and Management (from Operating Company’s perspective) in terms of compliance with tax requirements such as country-by-country reporting’s (CBCR), BEPS Pillar 1 and 2, Global Minimum Tax, Economic Substance Regulations (ESR), etc.
Serve as a focal point of contact within the company for tax related advice and guidance
Facilitate resolution of tax audit exercises within the operating jurisdiction
Coordinate with treasury to ensure tax-efficient cash management, including investment, redeployment and repatriation of cash between the company and its foreign affiliates
Conduct a tax health check of relevant business and legal entities from tax control perspective and put in place the required mitigates
Reconcile tax data on financial statements. Assist tax leadership with oversight of global effective tax rate (ETR) and tax provision and reconciliation of deferred taxes, tax payable and reserves accounts
Cultivate long-term partnerships with other tax teams within company, functional teams (finance, legal, strategy, business developments, etc.), global and regional sector teams, business units, external legal and financial service providers and countries tax and regulatory authorities
Perform direct tax technical research including analysis and interpretation of relevant tax laws, regulations, cases and agency guidance, and timely update relevant stakeholders as appropriate on developments
Review major contracts from tax perspective and participate with legal and functional teams on finalization of negotiations and dealings
Work with tax automation mindset. Continuously explore opportunities to improve tax controls, framework and tax reporting’s

Ability to manage, interpret, and report on highly complex tax environment, be practical oriented and able to handle often-voluminous data and multi systems environment
Drive tax initiatives in support of the business in achieving its strategic objectives
Other Context (if applicable):

Travel to operations and new markets countries will be required on time-to-time basis to support country tax & finance management and tax controls reviews and improvements
 
Functional/Technical Competencies

 

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with internal management as well as external parties
Strong tax technical and knowledge of tax accounting skills across all areas of taxes
Strong analytical skills in researching complex tax matters in order to reach sound conclusions
Demonstrated management, organizational and project management skills
Strategic mindset with experience in managing many initiatives concurrently with a result-orientated focus and strong execution and implementation skills
A proactive (both in identifying issues and developing solutions), enthusiastic and team oriented individual
Enthusiastic and self-motivated, combined with commercial and practical acumen
Personal Characteristics and Required Background:

Minimum Qualifications/education

Bachelor Degree or above in Commerce / Economics / Finance/ Taxation with professional qualifications such as a CA, CPA, CTA, or other relevant to tax specialization is necessary.
Minimum experience

10+ years in similar function with 5+ years in International Retail Business in Country with full spectrum of taxation
Skills

Excellent presentation skills and the ability to train on system usage
Awareness of counties laws, rules and regulations and quickly able to analyze and adapt laws changes.
MS Office Package (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Operating Systems such as JDE, SAP and Oracle will be value addition.
A good mix of Industry and Advisory firm experience is required.
