About the Job

The primary duties and responsibilities of a Supervisor involve interacting with customers, providing a positive experience, and ensuring that the other cashiers are prepared to do the same. The latter is the main distinguishing factor between a head cashier and an associate cashier, but all of these duties and responsibilities should be included:

Responsibilities:

• Create and maintain a positive work environment for all cashiers
• Communicate with customers and address any problems they may have
• Serve as the primary point of contact for customer service associates
• Operate registers and perform general checkout functions
• Generate reliable and accurate till reports from every register
• Resolve cash tills when closing, ensuring the money matches the report and is stored safely
• Assist cashiers with requests such as price checks
• Maintain a clean working environment by wiping down registers during downtime

Requirements:

• The head cashier needs motivational skills to manage the entire team of cashiers and any other customer service staff, like baggers, in a grocery store.
• One of the most basic yet essential skills of a head cashier is operating cash registers to quickly get through customer transactions.
• Because a head cashier spends so much time interacting with customers, their customer service skills must be second to none. The head cashier’s customer service skills should be what the other cashiers look to as an example.
• To facilitate the best shopping experience for customers, head cashiers must be able to organize effectively. This includes being able to analyze likely busy times and scheduling the necessary cashiers for those times.

About the Role

An exciting opportunity to join the Qatar Airways Outstations Team. To support our operations in Dammam, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. We are currently recruiting for the role of Senior Airport Services Agent in Ground Services.

The successful applicant will be responsible for providing quality service to passengers in respect to check-in, boarding, special services, lounges, and baggage services as per QR’s commercial and safety standards and procedures ensuring passengers and their baggage are handled in a consistent manner.

Your specific responsibilities include:

• Constant liaison with Check-in, transfer desk, and other related areas for the smooth acceptance of passenger.
• Liaises with check-in, transfer desk, and support Airport Services Supervisor in all areas.
• Escort and direct Arriving/departing passengers to the respective areas such as hotel desk, visa counter, transfer desk, premium lounges and boarding fates etc.
• Assist duty officer to handle company material and records.
• Liaison with GHA for quick processing of hotel and transfer passengers.
• Work with GHA and ensure smooth passenger handling.
• Assist passengers in regards to entry requirements, visas, residence permits etc.
• Ensure passengers are assisted smoothly through airport facilities.
• Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purposes of ensuring the efficient and effective function of the work unit.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will need.

• Trade or Vocational qualification
• Minimum 3 years of job-related experience required with at least 1 year of relevant experience in Airport Operations of a leading airline.
• Excellent communication skills with fluency in English language.
• High energy and positive attitude are necessary to perform well in this very high pressured and demanding environment.
• DCS experience and knowledge of ticketing is an advantage for this job
• Able to manage mishandled baggage services, including service recovery situations with customers.
• Ideally completed courses in Passenger Handling and Customer Services
• High level of computer literacy
• Excellent customer focus and service delivery.

Airport Services Duty Supervisor, Qatar Airways, Dammam, KSA

 About the role

We are recruiting for the role of Airport Services Duty Supervisor in Ground Services based in Dammam, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Reporting directly to the Duty Officer you will supervise your team to deliver exceptional customer service to our customers

 to ensure they receive the award winning 5-star service Qatar Airways is renowned for. You will also be required to support the Airport Services Manager when needed as well as displaying excellent skills to deal with flight delays,  disruptions, denied boarding and any other challenges.

Key accountabilities include:

• Facilitates ramp handling in liaison with all airport staff to expedite departures
• Supervises the airport team to ensure on-time flight closure and working towards overall on-time performance
• Plan efficient duty allocations of manpower during duty periods for Customer Service Agents and provide support to the
• Airport Services Manager in case of flight disruptions, mis-connections and other passenger related disruptions
• Provide leadership, demonstrate team building skills, direct staff and evaluate performance as well as being able to build
• on constructive feedback
• Generate various reports and always keep the workplace neat and tidy as well as offering support to the Airport Services
• Manager in implementation of training and remaining sensitive in varying difficult situations at all times
• Manage and train the ticketing team

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and skills:

• Relevant College or University qualification
• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in an airline or reputed Ground Handling Operations at supervisory level.
• Excellent communication skills with fluency in English language.
• Knowledge of Weight and Balance, Ramp handling and Dangerous Goods Regulations
• Able to perform duties under pressure whilst maintaining the highest levels of customer service standards.
• Good understanding of conditions of carriage, International Civil Aviation Safety and Security procedures

Senior Maintenance Technician, Vanderlande, Jeddah, KSA

 Job Summary

Vanderlande is the global market leader in baggage handling systems for airports, sorting systems for parcel and postal services and Warehouse Solutions. Working within our customer site at Jeddah site, the Service Technician will be performing maintenance duties and reactive calls to our Material handling System to ensure productivity and output, equipment asset availability, health & safety compliance, quality, and “team working is optimized” in accordance with agreed timescales.

Essential Functions (Job Duties and Responsibilities)

• Troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains machinery and electrical equipment such as motors, electrical circuits, ATR systems, baggage handling equipment and conveyor systems in accordance with diagrams, electrical drawings, operational manuals, and manufacturer’s specifications using hand tools and precision measuring and testing instruments.
• Exercise safe working practice at all times, complying with Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures.
• Prepare and execute service calls, Emergency Maintenance and Corrective Maintenance
• Perform Preventive Maintenance & follow-up on Corrective Maintenance work orders
• Report service calls
• Advise and execute optimization of (sub) systems, consulting the supervisor, control and propose improvements for the quality of the service process
• Develop service supporting tools and means
• Un-jam conveyors and handle errors in the system
• Attend to manual encoding stations and load correction zones
• Complete CMMS Service Reports, Parts Usage and Warranty Records
• Research and Request spare parts as required
• Perform Inventory Counts
• Works fully independently on site on preventive maintenance work
• Identifies problems in planning and tooling etc. Provides input for improvements.
• Helps other service technicians to correct faults.
• Independently corrects the standard faults.
• Instructs and gives guidance to less experienced technicians

Your Qualifications
 

• Diploma or Higher (Electrical/Electromechanical)
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Electro-mechanical or electrical maintenance
• Requires understanding of electrical and mechanical drawings/prints
• Minimum 2 years of material handling experience (Preferable)
• Minimum 1 year CMMS experience.
• Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Basic knowledge of controls (PLC, PC) systems.

Your responsibilities

• Formulates competitive bids/estimates/quotations, taking
• into account best available product mix and appropriate
• technical and commercial considerations for each individual
• situation. Ensures tenders are well documented in a timely
• manner and with appropriate level of detail, including full and
• accurate costs.
• Manages the preparation of all technical (e.g. defining the most suitable technology and product type(s)), financial (e.g. total price sheet, cash flow analysis) and if necessary project
• management (e.g. quantifies hours of engineering and
• commissioning) aspects of the bid/estimate/quotation,
• indicating prices and trading conditions.
• In accordance with bid/estimate/quotation planning, ensures
• that inputs for editing activities are provided on time and
• according to established quality procedures. Manages external services to support bid/estimation preparation such as translations and governmental approvals.
• Collects and archives documentation regarding the offer/order and records assumptions and decisions taken during the development process. Regularly reports the status of the bids/estimates/quotations using defined tools and collects and analyses the reasons for tenders being lost and won.
• Identifies potential risks in the bids, quotations and estimates,
• and in any related contract agreements across
• customers/channels. Provides information and/or participates
• in the Risk Review process in accordance with ABB policy.
• Responsible for collecting and collating all information needed to prepare the proposal, including both technical and cost elements.
• Establishes and maintains effective customer relationships to
• understand customer needs. Ensures a positive customer
• experience throughout the sales process. Provides any
• necessary technical support to Sales Managers during technical meetings with customers.
• Identifies potential vendors for equipment and materials

Your background

• Ideally you'll hold a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Excellent attention to details and ability to manage multiple deadline simultaneously.

• 5+ years of experience in preparing bids for service projects for MV and LV or working as electrical site engineer for MV and LV project.
