About you

As Associate Quality Technician, located in Jabel Ali (ARE), you will execute a business, site and plant/department quality tasks and activities to enable the business to profitably meet customer and product regulatory requirements related to the quality management system. You will help to promote a customer-focused culture within the plant and will enhance the front-line knowledge and accountability for quality. You use your technical skills to perform a range of routine work activities using existing processes and methods.

Also, you will work on each of the following tasks:

  • Perform routine analyses, non-routine and complex analyses.
  • Follow and train others on the Analytical Work Process (AWP), EH&S and ODMS procedures and practices.
  • Evaluate the validity of data, apply basic statistics, interpret results, and take appropriate action.
  • Monitor analytical systems, identify problems, conduct first-line troubleshooting, and escalate as appropriate.
  • Document, communicate, and archive analytical results, calibration and maintenance data.
  • Perform work according to the Sample Plan, Emergency Contingency Plans, Maintenance and Quality Control Schedules.
  • Perform calibrations and maintenance of analytical systems.
  • Perform troubleshooting of analytical systems.
  • Monitor and maintain calibration standards and consumable items.
  • Manage product retain samples.
  • Help troubleshoot plant and customer problems.
  • Assist in adapting and implementing laboratory IT and data handling systems to the needs of the unit.
  • Network with others to leverage technology, and problem solving and prevention.
  • Review analytical requests for value and alignment with goals.
  • Route analytical requests to the appropriate service provider.
  • Implement response plans for requests.
  • Continuously improve EH&S analytical performance.
  • Suggest and implement improvements to the EH&S and ODMS procedures, and analytical work processes and tools
  • Handles sample management at site.
  • Acts as back-up to Quality Manager role

Required qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Medical Lab or equivalent local education required.
  • Fluent in English

  • 2-3 years of relevant work experience preferred.

Purpose:

Provide procurement and expediting support to sales and distribution for Middle East and Asia Pacific. 

Key Responsibilities: (Key Tasks)

•    Purchase equipment and components in line with specified cost, quality, and delivery targets. 
•    Expedite open orders with vendors and obtain precise delivery dates.
•    Communicate with sales team any supply problems which may pose a risk or impact on business operations.
•    Check stock availability with FET global manufacturing and distribution centers.  
•    Negotiate local contracts, improve prices and terms of business with suppliers and review opportunities to create business savings. 
•    Create and maintain all vendors and item master database in NAV system. 
•    Own the safety stock reordering process with the responsible business units leads and local management. 
•    Work closely with freight forwarders to resolve any shipment discrepancies. 
•    Prepare certification documents from vendors and supply to sales team. 
•    Liaise with finance for payments and update PO’s as required. 
•    Respond to quote enquiries from Inside Sales Representatives.
•    Inventory adjustments as and when required.
•    Process transfer orders between offsite locations.
•    Follow Corporate Governance guidelines for PO’s.
•    Answer PO queries and resolve discrepancies with invoices regarding pricing and receipts.
•    Process quarterly stock reviews for distribution center.
•    Process scrap transfer orders and liaise with warehouse regarding slow moving/obsolete stock.

Expediting

•    Send open order reports to vendors.
•    Run purchase lines report and expedite all suppliers for overdue/incoming orders.
•    Check and update outstanding purchase orders promise dates.

•    Prepare sales and inventory reports.
•    Manage the continuous improvement of quality and quality performance. 
•    Manage shipment dates from vendors and work with sales to ensure the agreed dates on customer orders are maintained regularly.

Technical Competencies:

About you

We are looking for a top-caliber, technically capable Production Operator who embraces change, adapts fast, makes decisions quickly, possesses self-confidence and is a lifelong learner.

As Production Operator, located in Jabel Ali (ARE), you will operate one of our production Plants in a safe, reliable and optimal manner. You will perform and report on operational related activities per the Operations Dashboard (OPD)-Tasks List. Furthermore, you will work together with the Shift Team members you to efficiently anticipate and resolve unplanned events within the capabilities of the shift team and effectively escalate issues that cannot be resolved.

Also, you will work on each of the following tasks:

  • Performing routine operation of basic control systems and devices to monitor levels, temperatures, pressures and flow rates and transfer of products.
  • Operate valves and similar equipment including the proper clearing and isolation of equipment. Handle and charge chemicals safely and per process
  • Follow operating discipline, procedures and practices to ensure a safe and efficient operation of assigned duties.
  • Control, monitor and make necessary adjustments on control systems and manually operated equipment.
  • Troubleshoot process, product quality, safety, and environmental problems and identify equipment requiring maintenance.
  • Act as a resource for other Technicians on job tasks and prioritization of work activities.
  • Take ownership for the accurate completion of all assigned tasks.
  • Complete all duties as assigned with a high degree of dedication to safety and environmental stewardship
  • Perform scheduled operational and related tasks and tasks that arise as a result of resolving unplanned events.
  • Conduct effective shift relief, as defined in facility specific operating discipline and tools, to ensure effective communication and handoff to arriving shift team.
  • Maintain qualification in assigned areas, per facility policy, and complete training goals in a timely manner. This includes using discretionary time to address skills and knowledge gaps.
  • Perform Immediate Response activities, as assigned.
  • Initiate and document preliminary investigations according to plant specific process/criteria and participates in formal and informal Root Cause Investigations for events involved in or by request.
  • Track and utilize the plant's key performance metrics on shift that are applicable to the Operating the Plant role to optimize operations and identify improvement opportunities. Uses process knowledge and skills to make improvements in plant performance and operating discipline. Proactively identify improvements and opportunities utilizing the facility improvement processes, appropriate management of change processes and communication tools.

Required Qualifications

  • Diploma/engineering in any technical fields.
  • Associate’s degree in a process technology, mechanical or engineering related field and two (2) or more years of manufacturing experience as a Production Technician/Operator.
  • Production Unit certifications typically required.
  • Safety mindset

Your skills, knowledge and abilities include:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications, such as Word and Excel, and have the ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Good interpersonal skills are required.
  • Strong attention to small details and precision in all operations
  • Good analytical, critical thinking and evaluation abilities

Willing and able to meet physical demands of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations:

  • Able to lift hoses, bolt flanges and operate valves and similar equipment as a normal part of the job.

As a Logistics Control Tower Manager - Logistics, you will be responsible for:

  • Actively develops relationships with the different Product Line, understand their needs and design appropriate solutions in coordination with Logistics Country Leads.

  • Manage transportation and related logistics of goods and services to and from internal and/or external customers/suppliers.

  • Gathers and analyzes market information on competitor activities as well as service providers (airlines, shipping line, etc) to maintain the company's competitive edge in products, pricing, services and systems.

  • Manage, guide, train, set targets and objectives for staff, appraise and support employees reporting to the position and ensure high levels of performance towards achieving overall objectives.

  • Develops notions on midterm developments for own department and elaborates suggestions for strategic plan of the larger unit (be it function or business unit).

  • Develop and lead end-to-end logistics solutions to achieve required on-time pick up & delivery of goods.

  • Manage Logistics Costs to meet budgets and Operations Plans.

  • Understand broader concepts, development of approaches and methods, and knowledge management. Solutions integrate multi-functional impact and perspective.

  • Developed influencing skills to achieve objectives, strong influencing of others. Ability to develop team members.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Mgmt, Supply Chain, or equivalent.

  • Possess 18+ years of experience in Logistics, Transportation or related field;

  • Possess at least 5 years in people leadership positions in a regional or global role.

  • Have at least 5 years of managing Cross Dock or Control Tower.

  • Have at least 5 years of project management skills with ability to plan tasks, assign resources, manage progress, remove barriers, manage change, resolve conflict, build consensus and motivate team members.

  • Have the ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
