Our newest opportunity is for a CAD Technician, to join our award-winning team based in Dubai.

Responsibilities

Paramount to success within this varied role will include;

 

  • Performing technical drafting and modeling drawings for the Infrastructure Division.
  • Producing 3D Models for Highways/Roads.
  • Drafting of Interchanges, Intersections and Roundabouts covering both major and minor roads in both remote and built-up areas.
  • Producing Circulation Plans for traffic submissions.
  • Preparation of swept path analysis for roads, buildings & parking areas.
  • Producing 3D Models of gravity and pressurised networks, dry & wet utilities and creating gravity and pressure profiles using Civil3D.
  • Updating gravity and pressure network catalogues and producing clash detection reports.
  • Designing coordination of interference/clash detection and resolutions using Civil3D and Navisworks.
  • Producing presentation-quality plans for transportation and utilities.
  • Converting concepts and sketches into engineering drawings based on project requirements.
  • Collaborating and coordinating with other disciplines for design-changes and model challenges.
  • Liaising with Project Engineers with regards to information required, project progress and any potential delays.
  • Leveraging BIM software and tools as a methodology to coordinate design documentation.
  • Contributing to the effective functioning of the team by identifying with and participating in the attainment of team objectives, communicating and sharing knowledge.

Qualifications

To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envisage that you will bring a minimum of 4 years' experience from a similar role within an Engineering Consultancy environment partnered with a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.

 

  • Extensive experience drafting requirements for Highways/Roads and Utilities.
  • Knowledge of RTA design standards.
  • Advanced MS Office, AutoCAD, Civil 3D is Mandatory.
  • Experience using BIM, Infraworks, Navisworks and InDesign, would be advantageous.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills with ability to communicate effectively with the team.

Team Leader, Process Engineering, ADNOC, Abu Dhabi, UAE

 1. JOB PURPOSE:

Manage the process engineering activities to ensure optimum product yields, quality and equipment performance e to achieve ADNOC Sour Gas business objectives. Provides process engineering support to the operations Department, ensures the troubleshooting of plant operations of process units.

 

2. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Job Specific Accountabilities

  • Direct and supervise activities of Process Engineering to ensure Company objectives for maximizing revenues / profits are fully implemented.
  • Troubleshoot and recommend cost effective optimum solutions for Operating problems to optimize operations, enhanced plant availability and improved operational efficiency. Assures timely deliverables of the Process Engineering personnel.
  • Provide technical services and assistance to other teams like Instrumentation, Maintenance, Asset Integrity, and Laboratory as required.
  • Enforce the implementation ADNOC Sour Gas Health, Safety and Environment Management System (HSE-MS) and promote awareness of its use among his staff.
  • Analyze plant performance for sustained operation ensuring optimum product yields, product qualities and efficient utilization of energy/chemicals. Monitor feed stock variation and utilize opportunities for further improvement.
  • Act as Group leader for catalyst performance monitoring catalyst/molecular sieve unloading, loading, test runs for analysis of unit performance, process bottlenecks, and increasing unit throughput.
  • Initiate process studies for Plant changes/modifications, participates in and supports HAZOP studies. Participate in HSEIA, QRA and risk assessment to enhance plant safety.
  • Coordinate with Technical Services Division in Abu Dhabi in resolving on-going and outstanding operational issues.
  • Ensure the application of modern computer based tools as HYSIS, PHD. LIMS to achieve optimum performance.
  • Review existing technologies and recommends new technologies for improvement to suit company business objectives.
  • Compile / provide input for preparation of division/department Capital and Operating Budgets and monitor annual expenditure budgets.
  • Ensures that timely, accurate and regular reports are prepared and submitted to the Technical Department Manager like daily health reports, monthly status of chemical/ energy consumption, and process safety status reports.
  • Participates in all aspects of the Operations department’s maintenance planning and implementation, including the review of plant Shutdown, Start-up and Turnaround
  • Ensures compliance with all Company HSE policies and procedures and ADNOC engineering standards.
  • Provides complete process engineering support for new projects including major and minor categories.
  • Assure On Job Trading to meet Competency Based Training Programs for UAE Nationalization within the department.
  • Perform other similar or related duties, as required.

 

Generic Accountabilities

 

Management

  • Plan and supervise the activities of the personnel and resources of the team to achieve the Department objectives in an efficient and cost-conscious manner while ensuring implementation of approved operational plans for the Team in line with Department objectives.
  • Develop the knowledge, competencies and innovative spirit in the team and support the establishment of Personal Development Plans (PDP’s), Succession Planning and Talent pipeline within the team in coordination with the Human Capability Group to continuously develop employees with emphasis on UAE Nationals to meet Emiratization targets.

Budgets and Operational Plans

  • Compile and provide input for preparation of the Department budgets and regularly monitor expenditure against approved the team budget levels.
  • Investigate, highlight and reconcile any significant variances to ensure effective performance and cost control.

Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures

  • Lead the implementation of approved team policies, processes, systems, standards, procedures and internal controls in order to support execution of the Department work programs in line with Company and International standards.

Performance Management

  • Implement the Company Performance Management System for individuals within the team in accordance with Company approved guidelines and continuously monitor the achievement of the Team KPIs related to the approved Annual Performance Management Contract and the Balanced Score Card.

 

Organisation Structure and Development

  • Review, develop and recommend the appropriate organisation structure for the Team that will best utilise human capital while proactively incorporating sustainability into the on-going work practices to meet the business objectives.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement

  • Encourage innovation, enhance employee motivation and support initiatives for implementation of Change Management to continuously improve operations and services.
  • Propose improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with ISO standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the team.

Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability

  • Support the institution of an HSE culture and ensure compliance with relevant HSE policies, procedures, systems & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines across the team in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC Code of Practices.
  • Ensure adequate HSE training and induction for all team employees to meet HSE standards.

Management Reports

  • Prepare all the MIS and progress reports to provide accurate and timely reports and necessary information to Company Management to effectively manage the business.

 

3. COMMUNICATIONS & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

Internal

  • Manager, Technical to provide information, analysis & reports, and take directions.
  • Frequent contact with VPs, Managers and peers within HSE, Reliability, Technical and Engineering Division to provide and obtain information.

External

  • OPCOs for work coordination and knowledge sharing.
  • Third Party Vendors, Contractors, Service Providers, etc.

 

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

Minimum Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.

Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills

  • 10 years’ experience in Gas Processing Plants with sound knowledge / about Sour Gas Treating, Gas Dehydration, NGL Recovery, Condensate Hydrotreating, Sulphur Recovery and Sulphur Granulation technologies within a large industrial organization, with at least 5 years in a similar role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to build relationships with staff and project contractors with a focus on collaboration.
  • Excellent supervisory, planning and problem solving skills.
  • Strong decision making ability and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under stress.
  • Very good knowledge of spoken and written English language. Knowledge of Arabic is preferable.

Professional Certifications

  • PROACT RCA Methodology is preferable.

Contract Manager, Smit Lamnalco, Middle East

 

Job Description

Our Middle East office has openings for a Contract Manager for various locations in the region.

The purpose of this position is to manage the assigned contract(s) and ensure delivery of the agreed services to the client in a cost effective and safe manner. The role is reporting directly to the Managing Director.

Responsibilities will include:
  • Ensure that the day to day operations are performed in a safe, secured, professional, efficient and cost effective manner.
  • Ensure a financial performance in line with budget(s),  company objectives and you will have P&L accountability for your assigned  contract.
  • Manage client expectations and build-up a close relationship and 'goodwill' with the customers representative/client on site.
  • Identify commercial opportunities within the current contract to maximize/raise revenues.
  • Manage and report financial and operational performance of the contract and ensure timely payments from clients.
  • Manage the contract within the values and overall policies, procedures and standards of the Company; SLIMS compliant.
  • Ensure a proper application of the crew policies & procedures and management of crew on board  of the Vessels.
  • Manage and control budgets for victuals, PPE and other crew related costs.
  • Ensure that any operational licenses and insurances for executing the contract are in place.
  • Verify that the contract and the vessels operate in compliance with all local legislations/regulations and that crew is compliant with STCW and/or other legal crew certificate requirements.
  • Manage, develop, appraise and motivate all staff and crew assigned to the contract.

Job Requirements

To be successful in this role you will have:
  • Bachelor degree at a Maritime Academy or other marine related advanced or university level qualifications
  • Relevant marine operating experience, preferably sea-going experience as Master or Chief Engineer
  • In-depth understanding and experience of marine industry and terminal operations
  • Onshore management experience
  • 4 to 6 years of relevant work experience
  • Strong managerial and administrative skills
  • Pro-active work approach and a commercial feel 
  • Fluent in English is essential with Arabic as an advantage
  • Willing to work on rotational basis 6 weeks on 6 weeks or a permanent in country position
  • Experience with working with multinational and multicultural crew and staff Energetic, enthusiastic, optimistic, hands-on and the ability to manage stress
  • Previous or current experience in the Middle East Region is seen as an advantage
