About the Job:

An opportunity has arisen for Engineering Technician position at Jumeirah Creekside Hotel.

The main duties and responsibilities of this role: 

 Operational

To carry out the maintenance of all kitchen equipment

To order or repair any damaged kitchen & Laundry equipment as well as maintain and replace spares

Check and maintain all hot ranges, kettles brazing pans, convention ovens, bain marie, mixers pass counters, cold cabinets, dishwashers, hot cabinet, Freezers, Fridge and all related equipment.

Repair and maintain all laundry like washers, dryers, pressing machines, flat work ironer, towel folders and all steam related equipment

To work on all electrical, mechanical and refrigeration equipment

All work is to be carried out following technical regulations and safety standards as required in Dubai-UAE.

To complete work orders, PPMs, CWAs as directed.

To select correct materials from engineering stores.

To organise work in a skilled and professional manner.

To advise supervisor promptly of any problems.

To ensure safe working conditions for yourself and your colleagues and report to senior colleagues any unsafe working conditions.

To ensure that work areas are left in a safe and tidy condition.

Read and understand basic drawings

Work on own initiative without full supervision or direction.

Request support and direction as needed.

Be familiar with and comply with all relevant Engineering Department policies, processes and procedures.

Any other duties as may reasonably be requested by the management team including assistance for large events or hotel functions.

To able to work in guest rooms and plumbing is an added advantage

Higher Secondary School certificate

Minimum of 2years working experience in a similar capacity in a hospitality establishment

Computer literate

Good Communication skills

The main duties and responsibilities of this role:

Supervises and directs the daily activities of all Engineering Department Managers, Supervisors and Subordinates.

Observes activities to ensure adherence to policies and operating procedures.                         

Check on completed repair and maintenance works to ensure that established standards have been met.

Assists in the implementation, coordination, and monitoring of the JEMS (Jumeirah Engineering Management System. This will include the Fire, Life and Safety Matrix, PPM, and Work Order Systems).

Handles grievances, suggestions, and complaints by colleagues and recommends appropriate action to the Director of Engineering.

Responsible for overall supervision and quality of the preparation of detailed and complex engineering plans, specifications, and documentation

Assist in aspects of engineering operations, environmental health, safety, and security issues, as well as the operational efficiency of the property

Ensures the cost effectiveness and technical efficiency of all services performed by outside contractors. Ensures all work is carried out in accordance with contracts, scope of works, service agreements and warranties

Ensures the quality of the work completed by both subordinates and external contracted staff, adheres to the standards of good engineering practices

Request support and direction as needed.

Be familiar of Jumeirah Policy and Procedures

Be familiar with and comply with all relevant Engineering Department policies, processes, and procedures

To perform other duties that management may from time to time reasonably require

 

 

About you:

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:

Formal qualification in an Engineering discipline

Health and safety certified

Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical, electrical or HVAC engineering

Minimum of 5 Years post qualification experience in a 5-star hotel
