Position Description:

We are seeking Senior Project Engineers to join Saudi Aramco’s Project Management Teams. Saudi Aramco Project Management Teams (PMTs) are responsible and accountable for the delivery of best in class capital projects assigned to department.


PMT is directly involved in executing and managing assigned projects safely, on schedule, within budget and to the highest standards of integrity and compliance. This will involve engineering design, procurement and construction of various sizes ($), types and complexity of small, medium to multi-billion dollar mega projects. Some of these mega projects include the Marjan Increment Program, the Crude Oil to Chemicals program, the Gas Compression Program, the Berri & Zuluf Increment and AMIRAL Program.


The Senior Project Engineer’s primary role is to lead a project team, and take ownership and responsibility of the assigned tasks. This is in addition to managing all aspects of the Saudi Aramco project team itself and managing the project contractor.

Minimum Requirements:

You will hold a Bachelor degree from a recognized university in Engineering in one of the following disciplines – Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, or Structural.

You must be a member of professional engineers association / project management institute.

You will have at least ten years varied experience with a special emphasis in Early Design phase project management.

You will be familiar with International Engineering Codes and Standards.

You must be experienced with all aspects of Project Management to include project gated reviews, project schedule (including CPM and PERT, Primavera), cost control and estimation, project finance and contract formation, bidding, administration and close-out.

Well aware of project engineering alignment with the construction requirements.


Team member and able to provide leadership & mentorship to a team of junior engineers.


You will have excellent English communication skills (verbal and written).


Must be computer literate & skilled to use typical office program/packages.


Ability to work with multi-cultural team and interfacing with project stakeholders/customer.

Duties & Responsibilities:

You will be required to perform the following:


Present capital projects proposals, and sound alternatives, to management and stakeholders.


Supervise and coordinate the execution of capital projects from proposal study stage to completion and client delivery.


Coordinate and control all phases of project execution and administration, including of engineering design, procurement, construction, pre-commissioning, closeout, invoice review and approval, compliance with Saudi Aramco project requirements inclusive of administrative rules, cost, schedule and quality of deliveries and changes of scope.


Ensure that all project deliverables (original and as-built drawings, specifications, spare parts, man-power, specialty contractors, equipment manuals and any other items) are complete by project start up time.


Establish Project Execution Strategy & Plan.


Attend and present Project Status during project progress review Meetings to management.


Able to work closely with Saudi Aramco departments (various) assisting and providing support to assigned project.


Be aware and ensure for the implementation and KPIs related to Quality, HSSE, risk, project budget and schedule.


Ensure that project records are complete and available at project completion.


Supervise, manage and lead the manpower allocated to your team.


Deputize as Project Manager if required (in charge of a ‘Division’ formed by several ‘Units’).


Relocate (as needed) to project site camps/remote areas during the work week, and be prepared for frequent and/or prolonged travel.


Ability to work in a project site environment and maintain a positive morale & attitude during high workload with project deadlines to meet.

Position Description:

We are seeking a downstream process engineer with an experience in Olefins processes (steam cracking, hydrogenation, purification, extraction, etc.) to join the Global Manufacturing Excellence organization under the Downstream Global Manufacturing to support and oversee the performances of Saudi Aramco global manufacturing assets.


The primary role is to provide process engineering and operations expertise to monitor, optimize, and drive performance improvement programs for Olefins processes, including remote and field technical advisory support, benchmarking, and Olefins technology knowledge management and exchange. Drive the performance improvement programs, which enhance process safety, optimize manufacturing cost, and increase plant reliability.

Minimum Requirements:

A successful candidate will have:


A Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related specialization. An advanced degree is preferred.


A minimum of 10 years of total refinery or petrochemical process units experience (process engineering and operations) with at least 5 years of experience in handling Olefins plants.


Exposure to different licensor technologies is a plus (i.e., UOP, Axens, etc.).

Duties & Responsibilities:

You are expected to be able to perform the following:


Review and monitor the performances of existing Olefins facilities through key performance indicators (KPIs) representing the process plant’s optimum operability, profitability, reliability, and process safety. Issue quarterly Olefins performance benchmarking reports highlighting the KPIs, analysis, and performance improvement recommendations.


Monitor and support the facilities in implementing the recommendations and closing the gaps identified in the quarterly performance benchmarking reports.


Conduct benchmarking and best practices exchange workshops internally among Global Manufacturing facilities (wholly owned and affiliates) having Olefins process technologies.


Provide on-demand remote and/or field technical advisory support to Global Manufacturing facilities on matters concerning the operation of Olefins plants, which may include: process troubleshooting, start-up and shutdown activities, capacity test runs, technology pilot testing, and process design. Issue service report for every support activity provided highlighting the facilities need, actions taken, results, and lessons learned.


In collaboration with Global Manufacturing facilities engineers, propose cost optimization or process improvement initiatives focusing on “low-hanging fruits” with no or minimal capital investment required, through operational adjustment or design modification.


Conduct internal assessments on Olefins process engineering standards using Saudi Aramco engineering standard references. Highlight any deviations or better standards applied by affiliates for endorsement to facility management or Saudi Aramco Central Engineering.


Act as the overall coordinator for cascading and driving Global Manufacturing and Corporate programs to the Olefins operating facilities for execution and effective monitoring.


Participate in Business Plan development and coordinate with stakeholders for any capital investments on assigned process units and support techno-economic evaluations.


Keep aware on Olefins technology developments in the industry and endorse the evaluation and approval to Central Engineering to facilitate field deployment.


Support arrangement and facilitation of technical knowledge exchange workshops with Olefins process technology licensors and Global Manufacturing facilities.


Provide in-house technical trainings to Global Manufacturing facilities when needed.

We are seeking a Safety Engineer to join the Loss Prevention Department (LPD) at Saudi Aramco.

The Nonmetallic Engineering Group of Materials Engineering Division, CSD is responsible in promoting the use of nonmetallic materials within Saudi Aramco facilities, in-line with the Saudi Aramco nonmetallic roadmap mission and vision.

Minimum Requirements:

As the successful candidate you will hold a Bachelor degree (advanced degree preferred) in polymer, chemical or mechanical engineering.


A minimum of 10 years of professional experience as nonmetallic engineer in the field of nonmetallic materials and products within the oil and gas industry.


Broad knowledge in thermoplastic, fiber reinforced thermoset or thermoplastic, elastomers and their related products, including: piping, tanks, valves, heat exchangers, vessels, thermoplastic liners for carbon steel piping, downhole tubing and casing, composite repair systems, etc.


Excellent knowledge in nonmetallic products (e.g., piping, tanks, valves) qualification and testing, failure analysis, recommendations and technical support.
