Accountant- The Spanish School of Abu Dhabi
Job Summary
We are looking for an ambitious Accountant to join us at the Spanish School of Abu Dhabi, from August 2021.
Successful applicants will have:
Bachelor or master’s degree in accounting.
Minimum of 3 years in UAE, Educational Environment experience is highly desirable.
Able to work autonomously
Able to communicate with parents.
Great attention to detail
Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices.
Excellent knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with relevant computer software.
Qualifications (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) are a plus but not required.
Fluent in English. Spanish is a plus.
Key responsibilities:
Maintaining financial records by analyzing balance sheets and general ledger accounts.
Preparing and verifying bank deposits and carrying out bank reconciliations.
Preparing financial documents such as invoices, bills, and accounts payable and receivable.
Completing purchase orders
Monthly Reports.
Entering financial information into appropriate software programs.
Coordinating internal and external audits.
Recording office expenditures and ensuring these expenses are within the set budget
Support principal in preparing annual budgets and completing the year-end analysis
Processing monthly payroll.
Preparing payments for the suppliers, employees & students.
Preparing monthly payments.
Identification and implementation of improved internal controls
Review’s whole school purchase orders with the principal.
Maintains Fixed Assets register
Issue payment receipts
Issue invoices or letter requests for students and sends them to parents
Send email communication to parents about school fees.
Ensures all financial transactions are recorded
Monitoring of collections with petty cash expenses.
Monitors and updates Students’ ledger with term fees
Control the payment according to budget.
Manage audit queries and prepares files for audit requirements
