Job Description
Responsibilities To execute the underwater maintenance and removal of fish mortality, maintaining daily fish health records and net scores. Assist with launching the harvest net below the water, Assisting with the removal of dirty nets and installing new clean nets.
Direct diving operations, and supervise diver's members
Plan diving operations, establishing the fish to be sought, the fishing location, the method of capture, and the duration of the trip.
Attach nets, slings, hooks, blades, and/or lifting devices to cables, booms, hoists, and/or dredges.
Record in logbooks specifics of fishing activities such as dates, harvest areas, yields, and weather and sea conditions.
Inspect and test docks, ships, buoyage systems, plant intakes and outflows, and underwater pipelines, cables, and sewers, using relevant equipment.
Take appropriate safety precautions, such as monitoring dive lengths and depths, and registering with authorities before diving expeditions begin.
Cultivate and harvest marine species, and perform routine work on fish farms.
Supervise and assist repair and maintenance of all sea cages and nets and provide a daily net score for the net cleaning team.
To remove mortality in all cages on a daily basis and submit a daily report regarding mortality numbers.
Assist the boat crew with the removal of dirty nets and installation of new nets.
Assist in the maintenance of the feed blower lines in the water.
Assist other departments that require diving work as it arises.
Assisting the Marine Engineering with diving work on all the boats/vessels when required.
Assisting the Net Cleaning team when required
Perform other dive work for other departments as required.
Ensure relevant procedures to maintain and achieve product safety, legality and quality aspects.
Education Graduate of trade school or Equivalent Knowledge Knowledge in Diving.
Have license Basic Skills & Competencies Fundamental knowledge of fish health, net maintenance, boat handling skills, OH&S knowledge regarding diving.
Experience 4-6 years related experience
Technical Skills Advanced training courses in Diving
Other Skills & Competencies Requirement Quality and quantity of works, ability to communicate verbally and in writing
