An opportunity has arisen for a Painter to join the Engineering Department in Jumeirah at Saadiyat Island Resort. The main duties and responsibilities of this role are:


• To carry out repairs and maintenance works as directed.


• To complete work orders, PPMs, CWAs as directed.


• To select correct materials from Engineering Stores.


• To read and understand basic drawings.


• To use mechanical test equipment and instruments.


● Selecting and mixing coating paints to desired color and prepare spraying equipment such as cleaning or adjusting spray guns.


● Be capable of reading and understanding technical documents such as paint mixing procedures and maintaining sprayer equipment as required.


 

 

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:


5 years’ experience in a similar role

Description

The Senior Electrician prepares, sets up, installs, and/or operates rigging equipment for events, working to achieve the highest standard of service and equipment quality. The Senior Electrician, with a proven in-depth technical knowledge and years of experience, should demonstrate advanced team leadership and client facing skills and an ability to manage a project with minimal supervision.


The successful candidate will be based in our Dubai office.


Key Responsibilities:


Training and supervising Technicians and Crew on operation of equipment

Configuring equipment at advanced levels

Having an advanced understanding/knowledge of all equipment and keeping up-to-date with the latest fixtures and technology within the industry, learns new equipment quickly and teaches the team how to operate, hang and inspect them properly

Leading by example and maintaining a consistent performance at all times

Interacting with clients on site in a customer-oriented manner

Running shows of all sizes, both operation and site management, and leading a team of Technicians and Crew on site

Running a project and team at department level in the absence of a Project Manager

Assisting Project Managers in planning for projects and the specification of equipment

Providing a good level of support to the Head of Power

Cleaning, testing, maintaining, prepping and repairing equipment prior to a job

Monitoring and repairing equipment during shows and any required fault finding

Identifying and correcting equipment failures according to set standards

Performing repairs up to and including high-end equipment depending on severity of issue

Building and installing equipment on site unsupervised, according to designated layout

Setting up and operating systems/equipment

Loading and unloading of equipment

Cleaning of equipment after shows and storing properly

Rigging and de-rigging of all equipment safely

Performing annual inventory of equipment as per the set procedures in place

Adhering to health and safety regulations and wearing the appropriate PPE

Reporting all heath and safety issues to the Project Manager, Head of Power, and Health and Safety Manager

Required Education and/or Qualifications and Skills:


Strong written and spoken English

Technical degree, or related on-the-job experience

Electricians are expected to hold a formal qualification in events power

Customer service oriented

Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Ability to work under pressure

Good interpersonal skills

Advanced problem solving and fault-finding skills

Leadership skills

Good understanding of safety and HSE guidelines/working at height

Ability to read and understand technical plans

 


Required Experience:


Experience in a similar role

Previous event industry experience

Good understanding of events and event technology

Competency in using MS Office applications

Advanced knowledge of event power systems

Advanced understanding of live event power scenarios

Understanding of international equipment requirements

POSITION SUMMARY


Respond and attend to guest repair requests. Communicate with guests/customers to resolve maintenance issues. Perform preventive maintenance on tools and kitchen and mechanical room equipment, including cleaning and lubrication. Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines. Carry equipment (e.g., tools, radio). Identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves for equipment and all utility shut-offs for buildings. Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed. Communicate each day’s activities and problems that occur to the other shifts using approved communication programs and standards. Display basic knowledge or ability to acquire knowledge in the following categories: air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, carpentry and finish skills, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and/or general building. Perform all surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood trim repair, light bulb and A/C filter replacement and the complete and thorough cleanup of the painting or repair area. Test, troubleshoot and perform basic repair on all types of equipment, plumbing (e.g., plunge toilets and unclog drains), electrical components including lamps, cosmetic items, extension cords, vacuum cleaners, internet devices, replace electrical switches and outlets, and other guestroom items. Program TV's and perform general housekeeping and engineering-related inventory duties. Use the Lockout/Tagout system before performing any maintenance work. Perform repairs on interior and exterior landscaping as well as external landscaping sprinklers. Display basic computer skills including inputting air handler schedules and making temperature changes.


Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete safety training and certifications; and properly store flammable materials. Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets.
