Wood is currently looking for a  Procurement Manager to work on the engineering and project management services in Saudi Arabia our Al-Khobar office


Work on Procurement Procedures and Work Practices

Maintain the Project Procurement Execution Plan

Work with Licensors, Clients, and Wood secrecy agreements

Update and maintain Project Supplier Lists

Check that supervised personnel carry out assigned duties in accordance with job descriptions

Input all progress data to Material Management System and ensure these are up-to-date

Develop contacts with Suppliers' personnel. Maintain the respect of Suppliers and their representatives by adherence to code of conduct and business ethics, corporate policies, procedures and work practices

Maintain awareness of the materials supply situation including area sources, price levels and current deliveries. Advise the Commodity Purchasing Manager and / or Manager Purchasing of possible new sources of supply

When requested contribute to current and projected price and delivery trends

When requested carry out spare parts co-ordination activities in accordance with the Project Procurement Execution Plan

When requested by Commodity Purchasing Manager attend monthly cross project commodity meetings

Skills / Qualifications

Education to A-level standard, preferably with Business or Engineering knowledge

Degree in Business or Engineering (or similar)

Minimum 15 years’ working experience on Oil and Gas projects for a general Engineering Service Contractor

Project purchasing experience

Direct purchasing on a global basis

Ability to prepare negotiation strategies / techniques and participate / lead negotiations

Good knowledge of project procurement execution (start to finish)

Good knowledge of Oil and Gas supply chain or related supply chain

Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently looking for a Senior Buyer to work on the engineering and project management services in Saudi Arabia our Al-Khobar office


Assume the duties of the Sr Buyer as appropriate when so directed

Comply with, make known to supervised personnel and check their compliance with the following: Procurement Procedures and Work Practices, Project Procurement Execution Plan, Nondisclosure / Secrecy Agreements and Project Supplier List

Develop contacts with Suppliers' personnel. Maintain the respect of Suppliers and their representatives by adherence to code of conduct and business ethics, corporate policies, procedures and work practices

Maintain awareness of the materials supply situation including area sources, price levels and current deliveries. Prepare and issue the following as required: Procurement Plans, Solicitation of interest, Nondisclosure agreements, Pre - screen questionnaire and RFQ documents

Receive bids and arrange formal bid opening where applicable. Maintain a tender control log. Formulate and agree Bid Evaluation Plan

Distribute, check and carry out commercial evaluation of bids. Prepare quotation summaries, and quotation summary variations and make recommendations. Distribute as required by the Project Procurement Execution Plan

Prepare and issue Commercial Bid Evaluation Report & Recommendation. Formulate and agree negotiating strategy, if required. Arrange and attend pre - order meetings with Suppliers. Issue notes of meetings in accordance with project distribution matrix

Prepare and issue purchase orders as per the approved quotation summaries. Maintain a complete data base of all procurement activities in a systematic way for easy tracking

Keep all relevant parties fully informed of status. Provide post order management. Expedite as required

Prepare, maintain, and issue Material Progress Reports on a regular basis, which reflect the progress of all purchased equipment & materials

Maintain good working relationships with suppliers to ensure optimum use of their resources toward meeting our goals

Obtain all required Supplier drawings, documents, data books and manuals at the required time and in the specified quantities as per the SDI

Recommend to the Project Procurement Manager any necessary visits to Suppliers to apply pressure to maintain or improve performance. Visit Suppliers' works if instructed

Liaise with inspection organization to obtain inspection of equipment and materials. Release materials for shipment

Ensure the correct finalization of orders in accordance with project procurement execution plan. Assist in the settlement of back charges and discrepancies when requested by authorized construction personnel. Participate in audits as and when required

Skills / Qualifications

Degree Holder or Engineering Diploma

4 to 7 years’ experience as Buyer with SAP usage the Oil and Gas or related engineering industries

Previous experience with Wood and Aramco is an advantage

Procurement and sub - contracts experience in PMC, EPCM, LSTK and LSPB

Communication and co - ordination skills, computer knowledge

Highly motivated, well organized, resourceful, and proactive

Possess good interpersonal skills with sound written and oral communication skills

Flexible approach and able to work under pressure with a can - do attitude and a desire to win

What You'll Do

Job Description

POSITION OBJECTIVE - The position holds responsibility to ensure inventory is maintained above set par levels at all times for the entire region i.e. U.A.E, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.

- Oversee the flow of supply of goods both in bounds and out bounds, and efficient decision making to avoid stock out situations or expiries.

Key Responsibility

- Achieve quantitative measures of performance in the following areas: Procurement of Goods with overseas suppliers, cost effective means of shipping both inbound and outbound, ensuring all movements are within the guide lines of the concerned government authorities rules and    regulations, timely payment to the overseas supplier’s, Reconciliation basis value and stock quantities, monitoring stock status (available, held, m-inspect, expiry quantities). - Ensure supply of goods are made in the most cost effective move of transport and within the best transit time available. - Monitoring and ensuring that the right temperature is maintained at all times during the transportation of goods to ensure highest quality standards are maintained at all given times. - Adhere and enforce Company SOP, Policies and procedures; loss prevention audit guidelines at all times. Also create measures to ensure compliance by our service providers. - Oversea and support all regions to meet the guidelines set by the respective concerned govt. authorities.

- Monitor the supply movement across the regions.

- Share valuable information, knowledge with your subordinates, train on logistic perspective, govt. guidelines, teamwork, and other etiquettes as per the company and brand requirements.

- Interpret and make decision on operations and stock situations based on inventory positions across

the region.

- Communicate loop holes in the supply chain and effective measures to overcome these loop holes, and other related information to the Sr Supply Chain Manager, giving product availability updates whenever requested by any of respective Managers in the F&B team
