Senior Womenswear Designer-Fashion Heaven Inc., Dubai
As Senior Designer, you will be responsible for designing an effortless contemporary Women's Ready-to-Wear collection of luxury day to evening wardrobe essentials with global appeal.
The role reports to the Founder working from design concept to final sample with an in-house atelier and external factories to achieve a high calibre vision and flawless fit.
The successful designer will have a minimum of 4 years of experience in the design of modern luxury women's wear with a strong eye for silhouette, fabric, colour, embroidery and surface detail.
The role:
Seasonal mood, trend and fabric research.
Creation of mood boards and colour palettes.
Sourcing and development of raw materials including travel to textile fairs.
Design and development of modern, contemporary, effortless day to evening luxury wardrobe-essentials.
Presentation of design concepts and samples.
Creation of detailed technical packs with the technical designer.
Brief the embroidery designer.
Launch collection samples with the atelier and external factories and oversee sample development; patterns, toiles, prototypes, fittings,amendments and final samples.
Liaise closely with the technical designer, factories and suppliers to ensure accurate translation of product.
Ensure samples achieve critical path deadlines working closely with the technical designer throughout the design and sampling process.
Collaborate on pricing architecture.
Collaborate on special products and designs.
Review production samples with the technical designer to maintain the integrity of the vision.
Essential Skills:
Degree in Fashion Design specialising in Womenswear.
A minimum of 4+ years of experience in the design of Women's Ready-to-Wear.
Skilled in the design of modern, contemporary, effortless day to evening wardrobe essentials.
An excellent eye for colour and shape and a feel for fabrics, trims and embroideries.
Good basic knowledge of pattern, fit and garment construction.
Hand sketching, intermediate to advanced Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
Ability to work within a budget.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to express ideas clearly
and to connect with and inspire people at different levels within the business and with external vendors.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritise and work to a critical path.
