Job Description
Al Tamimi & Company seeks a Associate to join its Healthcare & Life Sciences sector group in Saudi Arabia. We have one of the largest and most respected healthcare and life sciences practices in the region. Our clients include; healthcare service providers, government entities, insurance providers, private equity firms specialising in healthcare investments, health IT companies, private and public developers of healthcare facilities, medical research institutes, as well as medical equipment and pharmaceutical manufacturers and distributors.
The role will perform substantive billable legal work as well as support the existing local team and the regional Healthcare & Life Sciences sector group in delivering prompt high quality services to the firm’s clients. The Associate will play an integral role in the delivery legal services, including legal research, drafting correspondence and memoranda of advice, contacting and conferencing with clients and governmental authorities, amongst others.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assist lawyers of all levels with researching laws and drafting formal legal documents, such as contracts and memoranda of advice, as well as correspondence with clients;
Keep client files organised and up to date in paper and/or electronic format;
Stay informed of new legal and regulatory developments pertinent to the healthcare and life sciences industries and drafts client alerts and articles to be published in ‘Law Update’;
Translate documents from Arabic to English and vice versa;
Assist in onboarding new matters and new clients, including engagement letters, following up on fee proposals, and other various admin duties.
Skills and Requirements
An outgoing, confident communicator with good oral and written communication skills;
An enthusiastic, flexible, self motivated and committed team player;
Detail oriented and strong organisational skills, together with the ability to manage deadlines and work under pressure;
Reliable, responsible and having a concern for quality;
Strong interpersonal skills essential;
Team oriented and collegiate with a willingness to share knowledge with and support other members of the team.
Previous experience as a corporate commercial paralegal desirable but not essential.
