Shift Engineer, InterContinental, Muscat, Oman

We need a Shift Engineer,

Based at InterContinental Muscat, Shift Engineer is responsible to support the whole engineering team and to ensure that the engineering and maintenance operations within the hotel, including general property maintenance, are working properly and up to the hotels operating standards.

You are also responsible to keep all equipment in good repair providing day-to-day maintenance support to the hotel. Additionally, work towards and support the improvement of engineering service to guests, other departments and colleagues.

A little taste of your day-to-day. Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:

• Properly monitors the day-to-day equipment operations to minimize the energy and water waste.

• Physically take rounds of all the major equipment areas and notify us if there are any faults to avoid any unnecessary wastages of energy.

• Provides information coordinates and cooperates with subordinates.

• Always keeps a safe work environment

• Respond in a courteous and prompt manner to all guest questions, complaints or requests to ensure a high level of guest satisfaction.

• Focuses on heartbeat action points and acts accordingly

• Oversee the daily operations to find possible ways to save on energy

• Focuses on FLS and HACCP concerns and be vigilant during the shift operations

• You will be reporting to the Operations Engineer who oversees the operations during the night and supervises and utilizes the shift technician efficiently. He also will be responsible for ensuring that each shift Electrical, Mechanical, Plant room machinery and a/c machinery in the hotel are maintained to the appropriate level.

What We need from you:

Ideally with diploma in Electrical/A/C or any other related qualification plus two-to-three-year experience in a similar position. Must be having an excellent leadership skills and problem resolving attitude. Good command in English and computer skill will be an added advantage.
