WSP Middle East is currently looking for a Road Safety Lead (Associate - Roads & Highways) based in Abu Dhabi
Responsibilities will involve a combination of technical, managerial, and coordination tasks.
Your new role, what's involved?
Formulate and implement road safety strategies and initiatives for road and highways projects.
Conduct thorough assessments of road safety risks and identify potential hazards.
Ensure that all roads and highways projects comply with local and international road safety regulations and standards.
Stay updated on the latest developments in road safety legislation and make necessary adjustments to project plans.
Conduct safety audits and inspections of roads and highways to identify potential safety issues.
Collaborate with relevant authorities to address and rectify safety concerns.
Review and provide input on road and highway designs from a safety perspective.
Collaborate with engineers and planners to incorporate safety measures into project designs.
Develop and implement public awareness campaigns to promote road safety.
Coordinate with stakeholders to educate the public on safe road usage practices.
Collaborate with government agencies, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure a unified approach to road safety.
Participate in meetings and forums related to road safety initiatives.
Investigate road accidents and incidents, identify root causes, and recommend preventive measures.
Work with law enforcement and emergency services in post-incident analysis.
Provide training sessions on road safety protocols and practices for project teams and relevant stakeholders.
Contribute to the development of training programs to enhance road safety awareness.
Implement and monitor quality assurance processes related to road safety.
Regularly review and update road safety policies and procedures.
Manage the budget allocated for road safety initiatives and projects.
Ensure cost-effective implementation of safety measures.
Develop and review emergency response plans for road safety incidents.
Coordinate with emergency services to ensure timely and effective response.
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in road safety practices.
Implement feedback mechanisms to gather input from project teams and stakeholders
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
12- 15 years of relevant experience in the project-specific field with a minimum of 5 years working in the UAE.
Demonstration of 5 years of Safety Engineering, Crash Analysis, or Collision, Investigations.
Attendance of a 10 days recognized collision Investigation or Road Safety Engineering course.
Completion of at least Road Safety Audits in the past 12 months as an Audit Team Leader or member and should be in UAE.
Minimum of 2 days Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in the fields of Road Safety Audit, Collision Investigation, or Road Safety Engineering in the past 12 months.
Demonstrated that they have a well-rounded knowledge of Highway Design.
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineer, or Equivalent.
Strong knowledge of UAE regulations and practices.
