Be part of our team as a Mechanical Design Engineer – Industrial Automation in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
What are my responsibilities?
Preparation of various project layouts with the help of multiple layout tools and developing manufacturing drawings.
Prepare BOM, BOQ, and RFQ for procurement of mechanical equipment in coordination with suppliers.
Prepare and submit design documentation (like O&M manuals, material submissions, functional descriptions, etc.) for customer approval.
Address client comments with respect to contract requirements and supplier specifications.
Coordinate building interfaces (space requirements, architectural collisions, accessibility, safety, etc.).
Check building drawings (like MEP, FLS, Architecture, Structure, etc.) with Layout and generate clash reports/drawings.
Create installation drawings with sections and other documentation and handle site technical queries.
Support installation and commissioning teams on-site when needed.
Generate as-built documentation.
Work closely and coordinate across various departments like Structural, Electrical, PLC Commissioning and Software, Site Installation, Procurement, and Logistics teams.
Manage and ensure that all project quality procedures applicable to design are being followed.
Responsible for following occupational health, safety, security, environment and quality as stipulated in the Project HSSE Plan and Project Quality Plan, respectively.
What do I need to qualify for the role?
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum 4 years of professional experience in Mechanical Design and Layout in the logistics automation domain, specifically in Baggage Handling or Cargo Handling Systems.
Hand-on experience with AutoCAD 2D & 3D, Revit, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint. Other software experience (like Inventor and Navisworks) will be an added advantage.
Knowledge of the SAP System and creating new material numbers is a plus.
Strong language skills in English, both verbal and written.
Willing to travel locally or internationally.
Basic knowledge of mechanical equipment safety standards (i.e. Machine Directive, EU Norms).
Experience in structural calculation is a plus.
Teamwork spirit, leadership skills, organizational capacity, and eagerness to improve.
