JOB DESCRIPTION
Owns corporate governance, risk assessment and implementing internal control practice across the NMC Group. A mid-level professional with broad Internal Control experience who will have overall ownership of corporate governance, risk assessment and implementing internal control.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities:
Assist in designing and developing effective internal Control Program.
Assist in evaluating, monitoring, reporting and remediation of internal controls.
Assist in the documentation of the company’s policies and procedures.
Assist in evaluating control self-assessment program to ensure operating effectiveness of financial controls.
Reports risk management issues and internal controls deficiencies identified directly to Head of Department and provide recommendations for improving the organization’s operations.
Review the responses to internal and external audit management letter queries to ensure that recommendations are implemented and ensure that all action items are resolved
Assist in the organization's CSA readiness and implementation initiative, including the development of process narratives, flowcharts, and key controls matrices
Partnering with finance and non-accounting process owners to ensure process flowcharts, risk and control matrices and related internal control documentation remains current
Partnering with relevant stakeholders in the development and maintenance of the company’s internal control policies, standards, and procedures to ensure a consistent approach to documentation, testing, and reporting.
Develop and maintain an ongoing internal control assessment process, including a periodic risk assessment, testing, and compliance plans
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Certification
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Commerce, Business or equivalent.
Recognized professional qualification (e.g., CFA, ACA, CPA, CMA, CA) is preferred
Knowledge and Skills
Prior experience within Risk & Compliance or Internal Control role, finance experience is preferred
Analytical, structured, energetic, pragmatic, and organized with attention to detail
Able to build processes and lay foundations with a passion for continuous improvement
Willing and able to partner with a hands-on mentality and a self-starter
Good project management skills
Strong communication skills and able to communicate across various levels
Experience
3+ years relevant experience in finance or auditing, either within a (Big 4) audit firm and/or in an international corporate environment
Experience in health care industry is preferred
