JOB DESCRIPTION
General Description of Role and Responsibilities:
Assures compliance of all relevant aviation regulatory agency rules and regulations that pertain to safety and security as required for an International Civil Aviations Organization (ICAO) commercially certificated airport.
Assists the Client in developing and implementing airport operational policies and procedures to ensure the efficient operation and optimum safety and security of all facilities.
Develops, directs and coordinates major programs and functions of the airside operations department, such as airport communications, emergency coordination, airfield management, methods and procedures, duty managers, special projects and other activities as assigned. Issues appropriate notices as necessary.
Device, coordinates, interprets and enforces rules and regulations concerning airport operations and safety, assists in establishing compliance policies and procedures regarding all appropriate local regulations.
Directs the preparation and maintenance of airside operations directives and manuals, the airport emergency plan (emergency procedures manual) and the airport certification manual.
Oversees the inspection of runways, taxiways, and related aircraft ground operational areas to ensures
that the facility continually operates under certification requirements and applicable international and local regulations.
Maintains liaison with the civil aviation authority, air traffic control tower and certification inspectors, airlines, airport tenants and others.
Prepares and recommends annual and long-term plans, programs, budget and exercises control over the planning, formulation and maintainance of expenditure control for the airside operations department budget
Upload project reports on completion and handing over to Include;
Project Name and Client.
Masterplan brief/Design/Construction including time and cost.
Consultant and Contractor Performance.
Cost Index.
QUALIFICATIONS
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:
Technical (Engineering, Aviation related) Degree is required.
A minimum of 20 years’ experience
Specialist project experience working on the ensuring the operational readiness of airport projects.
Membership / accreditation in related services is desired.
Excellent communication and computer skills
Excellent command of the English Language
