Responsibilities
Identifies the areas of medical records that are incomplete or inaccurate such as missing doctor’s signature on a discharge summary or missing pathology reports in the medical record, etc.
Identifies delinquent documents in medical records and marks delinquencies and arranges records as per policy in the designated area
Notifies concerned physicians of any incomplete records that need completion in a timely manner and subsequently follow up with them
Identifies the inconsistencies in the medical documentation and discuss solutions for protecting the legal interest of the doctors, patients and organization, with the Officer
Responding to patient queries through email and sharing medical information as per the policy of ROI to maintain confidentiality
Assists physicians while completing their charts
Informs the line manager, regarding problems related to the completion of the incomplete charts, analyzing the routine discrepancies in the system which result in the incompletion of charts and suggesting ways to solve those discrepancies
Notifies and follows up on outstanding medical record deficiency until its completion
Retrieve, gather, clean and interpret data from Cerner to answer a question, solve a problem or reach meaningful conclusions
Work with technology teams, management and data scientists to set goals; mine data from primary and secondary source
Completing and releasing the medical report status in the shared log of ROI section
Assists in any other relevant task that may be assigned
Educational Qualification:
Required:
Diploma in Health Information Management or equivalent or in relevant field
Desired:
Bachelor Degree in Health Information Management or equivalent
Experience:
Required:
1-2 years’ experience within a similar role
Desired:
Experience in a large healthcare facility
Additional Requirements:
Required:
Proficiency in English language
Computer Proficiency with working knowledge in MS Office Applications
Desired:
Proficiency in the data management tools
