Senior Manager - Environment - PIOC, AD Ports Group, UAE

Job Description

Drive compliance with, and provide guidance and support on, the AD Ports Group’s Environmental and Sustainability standards and programs in international ports and terminals operations.
 

Ensure consolidated reporting visibility of environmental practices, performance and compliance across global operations.
 

Lead the implementation of environment and related sustainability standards and programs in committed international investment projects and operating entities.
Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities:

    Draft and propose international Environmental and Sustainability strategies and provide input on budget setting to achieve same.
    Establish and coordinate internal and external Stakeholder engagement procedures and platforms to plan, implement and monitor Environmental compliance and best practices across all international operations.  
    Management of the environmental workstream for projects under implementation with emphasis on the technical direction of the delivery of all environmental studies in line with project requirements, budget and schedule.
    Identify at project design phase environmental scope and potential project risks and submit environmental permit applications to the relevant authorities.
    Resolving technical conflicts between Noatum Ports and consultants/authorities/stakeholders.
    Facilitate and coordinate the setting of Environmental and Sustainability Objectives and Targets and concommitant management system implementation and reporting.
    Lead Noatum Ports’ Audits, Inspections, Observations, Measuring and Monitoring programs/ activities.
    Enforce adherence of Ports & Terminals to waste management, spillage prevention, containment, and response standards.
    Participate in the sourcing, assessment and selection of external suppliers (consultancy, studies, monitoring, and others).
    Develop and communicate Emergency Response Plans for environmental incidents.
    Participate in formulation of initiatives and Business Continuity Plans to respond to impact of climate change.
    Facilitate the management and close out of Nonconformances arising from operations and assurance activities.

 
Qualifications

Educational and Technical Qualifications:

    Bachelor’s degree in environmental science or environmental engineering.
    Lead Audit 14001:2018.
    Certifications / Courses in ESG and Risk Management.

Language Skills: Fluent in Business English

Years of Experience: Minimum 10 years’ experience.

Nature of Experience:

    Experience in HSE, Environmental Management Systems, Environmental Monitoring Programs, Project Management, and Ports / Terminals Operation.
    Participation in Environmental Due Diligence assessments for greenfield and brownfield Projects.
    Consultant or environmental engineer role on permitting studies and authority approvals.
    Drafting and compiling Preliminary Environmental Reviews, Environmental and Social Impact Assessments, Hydrodynamic modelling studies, and Construction Environmental Management Plans.
