Job Description

The main role of the position is to support the HSSE team deliver its objectives of ensuring that the highest standards of HSSE Management are achieved and maintained throughout all GAC Dubai operations. Reporting to the HSSE Manager, the Junior HSSE Officer will be tasked with meeting all the principal accountabilities of the role and fully supporting the HSSE Team in effective implementation and compliance with HSSE MS requirements

 

Key Responsibilities

 1. Emergency Preparedness: Timely inspection of First Aid boxes, firefighting and spill response equipment. Tracking to ensure participation of all areas/departments have participated. Assisting the HSSE team in scheduling and reordering of drills.

2.       GACqhsse Online: Manage all HSSE issues, audits, inspections and CARs on the GACqhsse portal. Support HSSE colleagues and other departments on all matters related to the GACqhsse online portal.

3.       HSSE Communication /Toolbox Talks: Design and develop new themes and posters for the monthly HSSE bulletin and ensure it is communicated to all parties. Identify Toolbox Talk subject matters and prepare Toolbox to be delivered by each department.

4.       Meetings: Organise HSSE Committee Meetings for all departments, ensuring that all relevant HSSE matters are discussed and actions agreed.

5.       HSSE KPI: Compile and report HSSE KPIs and data as assigned. Compile the quarterly HSSE data and report to HSSE Manager.

6.       HSSE Inspection and Audits: Assist the HSSE Team in planning and executing HSSE inspections/audits.

7.       HSSE incidents/issues: Support HSSE Team in ensuring that HSSE issues are promptly recorded, investigated and necessary action identified and taken.

Job requirements

    University graduate, preferably with a degree with a technical background

    OHS courses viz NEBOSH IGC, IOSH MS.

     Preferably hold a UAE Driving License.

    Knowledge of ISO 14001, ISO 45001(desirable), JAFZA/Dubai/UAE Health and Safety Regulations.

    Excellent English communication skills and knowledge of sub-Asian languages.

    Proficient in MS Office and adept in learning new software

    2 years’ experience in any HSSE administrative role warehousing/transport/marine background.

    Experience in handling formal HSSE Management System documentation, HSSE training, KPI and statistics.
