Riyadh Air, Saudi Arabia’s new national airline is looking for global talent to build on our ambition to be the World’s most inspiring airline with an exceptional guest experience.
JOB PURPOSE:
Supporting Riyadh Air in maximizing its global network reach and market penetration through identifying, negotiating, developing, and actively managing a portfolio of innovative, digitally-based commercial and strategic partnerships with other airlines.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
· Identifying, analyzing, and developing business cases for new airline partnership opportunities
· Securing internal stakeholder buy-in for each partnership, including at C-level.
· Preparing, leading / supporting the negotiation process with target airline partners
· Ensuring MOUs / Contracts for each partnership are fully executed and documented
· Working across the business to test, implement and communicate each partnership
· Setting up, monitoring and analyzing Commercial / Customer KPIs for each airline partnership
· Organizing, conducting and following up regular performance reviews with each partner
· Renegotiation / termination of partnerships depending on performance & strategic fit
· Ensuring partnerships are aligned with / fit to RX’s commercial, customer & tech proposition
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
· Min. 10 years’ airline industry experience, preferably in 2-3 different airlines / locations
· Min. 5 years’ experience in end-to-end airline partnership management at a global full-service airline, covering all constructs from basic interline through to JVs and Global Alliances.
· Experience of 2-3 other relevant functions: Network Planning, Rev Man, Distribution, Commercial Planning & Analysis, Controlling, Guest Experience and Loyalty Management.
· Demonstrable understanding and familiarity with legacy GDS / PSS and next-gen digitally based Order Management / NDC environments, and how these interact.
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:
· Minimum: Batchelor’s or Master’s degree from a recognized university, ideally focused on Economics, Business Management, International Affairs / Relations or Law.
· Desirable: relevant industry-recognized qualifications (e.g. Airline/Aviation Management, Aviation Law, etc.).
SKILLS:
· High familiarity with key airline-decision & -management support / analytics tools (Network modelling, schedules analysis, commercial reporting & analysis, inventory & pricing management, reservations & ticketing).
· Fully conversant with MS Office, especially Excel, PowerPoint, Teams & SharePoint.
LANGUAGES:
· English at mother tongue or fluent written & spoken business level.
· One additional language at mother tongue or fluent written & spoken business level: Arabic, Mandarin, Spanish, French or German.
COMPETENCIES:
· Innovatively focused, comfortable with transformation: able to bridge between Riyadh Air’s cutting-edge digital native world and other airline operating environments or business models.
· Highly organized, self-starter: able to move at own initiative, juggling multiple and sometimes conflicting priorities.
· Comfortable with opacity / obliqueness: able to take high-level direction / thinking and convert into a meaningful, executable plan of action.
· Outstanding written & verbal communication skills coupled with strong analytical capability, deployable at all levels of the organization, both internal and external.
· Ability to work effectively cross-functionally – proactive, persuasive, and persistent while remaining calm, focused, and diplomatic.
· Instinctively open-minded, international, multi-cultural mind-set – energized and motivated by working within a highly diverse organization in an outward looking, globally focused role.
