In this role, you will undertake the following duties:
A key member of the Projects and Supply Chain function reporting to the Commercial and Project Manager, complies with Kent process, procedures and core values.
Responsible for overseeing and supporting subcontract activities of the Project, with Pre-qualification, tendering and finalisation of Subcontracts. Subcontracts management and administration. Handle contractual, legal, commercial and insurance issues related to subcontracts. Ensure that contractual and commercial matters are handled efficiently by minimizing claims from the subcontractors.
Working with project teams to produce subcontract strategies, subcontracting plans and project procedures.
Reviewing and guiding on project subcontracting plan to ensure that key dates within the master project schedule are achieved.
Preparation of terms and conditions of subcontract and modified where necessary to incorporate the requirements of the main contract. Working closely with contracts function, commercial, legal, finance and insurance to ensure all requirements of the stakeholders are incorporated in the templates.
Prequalification, assessment and development of Subcontractor lists to support tendering activity.
Preparation of construction ITB package including the draft construction sub-contract in it’s entirety, in conjunction with Engineering, Construction and Supply Chain teams.
Evaluation of tenders, negotiation with tenderers and preparation of recommendations of award for approval.
Work with the sub-contractor in obtaining all the contractual instruments like all the Bank Bonds, insurance, and permits.
Develop a Subcontract deliverables outline document which supports the teams with all the necessary information out of the Subcontracts to better manage the projects/contract operations and adhere to its compliance – Be aware of all the project execution strategies from proposal to completion of contract operations.
Evaluation and agreement of subcontractor interim progress claims.
Management of Change: Identify/quantify/execute the change in the projects by Assessment, negotiation and agreement of subcontractor variations and claims.
Work closely with QS to review the Sub-contractor invoices against the terms of the contract and ensure proper compliance.
Visit project sites regularly to spot audit the contractor’s supply and installation against their invoices to ensure compliance.
Support Cost Management, Finance groups with contractually relevant data
Any such duties and responsibilities assigned based on Project and Departmental requirements.
Flag any compliance issues during the project execution.
Conduct and manage the risk management workshops with the project teams on monthly basis.
Organize and lead the lessons learned sessions.
Qualification/ Certification:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering
Overall 15+ Years: Minimum 15+ Years Experience as Senior subcontracts engineer or 5 years as Subcontracts Manager
Worked in Oil & Gas and/or EPC Business in the Middle East Region
Skills Requirement:
Experience in tender, award and administration of major subcontract package
Strong negotiation, verbal and written communication skills.
Post Award Subcontract Administration and close out.
Advance knowledge of Software skills – MS-Office, Adobe, Oracle, etc.
Team player and integrating with multicultural teams
Communication:
Excellent interpersonal and analytical attributes.
Professional communication skills –Able to communicate with peers, customers, and third parties.
Strong problem-solving instincts and close attention to detail
Core Competencies:
Good knowledge and understanding of contract procedures.
Knowledge of checking Terms & Conditions
Core Oil & Gas Filed Construction & technical understanding of EPC/EPCm execution.
Subcontracting – minor and major packages for Onshore EPCM construction scope
Highly resourceful, adaptable, and flexible
• Timely management of deadlines
