Pacific Basin is one of the world’s leading owners and operators of modern Handysize and Supramax dry bulk ships. We
are headquartered and listed in Hong Kong and operate globally with a fleet of over 280 ships trading worldwide. Our
team comprises about 4,200 seafarers and over 380 shore staff in 14 key locations around the world.
As part of our ongoing development, we have decided to recruit a suitable person for the following position:
University graduate - preferably in Shipping subjects;
Minimum 2 years’ relevant maritime experience and experience in dry bulk voyage and post fixture work operations is a must;
Experience of laytime and hold cleaning requirements from dirty to clean cargoes;
Good understanding of CP’s and BL’s, operational voyage planning, the IMSBC code, stowage plans and ability
to optimize cargo intake;
Able to monitor and recognise factors affecting the P&L;
Reliable team player, able to work effectively across desk and time zones in an international organization;
Previous experience with maritime business software systems, such as IMOS is a must;
Customer focused with strong analytical skills;
Energy and creativity needed in a fast-pace international environment;
The candidates who have more experience will be considered as Senior Operations Executive;
Candidates are eligible to work in United Arab Emirates.
Operate 6-12 voyage charters/time charters at any one time within different time zones;
Responsible for customer liaison including regular updates on vessel movements and port operations;
Manage vessels operations in the most economical manner possible by thorough planning of the ships voyage,
so as to ensure that all operational aspects of the trip are cost effective;
Plan cargo intake and stow plans, maximizing cargo intake and co-ordinate with the Master;
Take on responsibility for a geographical area and fully understand suppliers costs in this area, negotiating with
agents and other suppliers to ensure our costs are competitive;
Sourcing of liner in and liner out costs pertinent to steels trade originating in the PB Dubai region. Cost to be filed
online and to be accessible to the PB team;
Daily monitoring of Veslink, keep IMOS update at all times, ensuring the schedule is realistic and the P/L is
accurate;
Assist with providing cover for colleagues within the Indian Ocean region as and when required;
Participate in internal meetings and external meeting as and when required. Maintain close communication with
Dubai chartering;
Take on any other operational duties and projects as required to support the operations team consistent with the
position.
