Customer Application Engineer - Centrifugal Compressor

As an Application Engineer-Centrifugal Compressor, you will provide effective solutions to the customer during early engagement and later come up with a firm proposal while interfacing with commercial, sales and engineering by reviewing the client's request for quotation (RFQ). Performing CC selection and calculating relevant performances to develop results-oriented and risk-free technical solutions using appropriate tools (BOM, configuration, performance estimation, economics, etc.).
As an Application Engineer - Centrifugal Compressors, you will be responsible for:
Owning the preparation and negotiation of Baker Hughe's technical proposal and the costs of the proposed solution.
Selecting the right compressor matching all the requirements in terms of cost & efficiency.
Leading techno commercial discussions with clients on configuration, performance, and economics while interfacing with the commercial/sales team.
Applying product and quality policies, addressing, and mitigating any risks as per Baker Hughes/BH procedures.
Presenting the overall technical picture to senior leaders on how the proposal is fulfilling the overall strategy to win.
Documenting all communications, technical specifications, costing rationales etc. to facilitate the smooth handoff of the order to the remittance team.
Coaching and mentoring junior members of the team to share knowledge and up-skill your team.
Participating diligently in process improvement initiatives by identifying gaps and providing feedback to the digitization team to improve overall execution excellence.
Fuel your passion
To be successful in this role you will:
Have at least a Bachelor’s in mechanical engineering, with 12+ years of experience in Application Engineering.
Have experience working with commercial teams in creating/owning technical proposals for centrifugal compressors while performing design &; selection of equipment.
Have experience in DTI (Front End Engineering Design) or Engineering with at least 5 years of prior experience in centrifugal compressor design and selection
Have worked in OTR (Order to remittance) / NPI (New Product Introduction) team performing/owning complex requisition/design activities.
Be naturally proactive, ability to anticipate and act on risks while fulfilling customers' demands and changing scenarios in ongoing deals.
Be able to lead without authority by going above and beyond the role for the best outcome, as/when required.
Have good oral and written communication skills.
