What you’ll do:
Hardware:
Control network architecture design.
Specification of control panels and hardware.
Specification of controls network infrastructure including network cabling, site scada ethernet cables, fibre optic cables, serial comms cables etc.
Specification of control componentry, comms and protocol converters, telemetry-based devices.
Specification of SCADA computing hardware & PLC hardware
Setup and configuration of SCADA stations, servers and clients.
Software & Networks:
Configuration of SCADA software applications (Rockwell FactoryTalk)
Configuration of PLCs (Omron, Siemens, Schneider, Codesys etc)
SCADA PLC software programming and application development.
System interface and configuration of gas, diesel, generator controllers (Deif, Deepsea etc)
Network comms configuration and integration of LV / HV / EHV transformer & switchgear relays & intelligent devices
Configuration of LFO and HFO fuel ancillary and control equipment
Instrumentation configuration of level & pressure transmitters, motorized valve actuators.
Configuration of communications protocol gateways & converters (TCP/IP, EthernetIP, OPC-UA, Modbus TCP – Serial, CANbus, Profinet, Profibus, IEC61850, DNP3, BACnet etc).
Configuration of RTU comms gateway devices,
Wireless LAN and networks
Remote monitoring systems
Configuration of fuel & electrical energy instrumentation such as mass flow meters, fuel quality meters.
Computer and control network device configuration in LAN, WLAN, VLAN systems and firewall configuration.
Configuration of cellular and broadband based network routers & switches, and telemetry units
Configuration of managed network layer 2, layer 3 switches.
Troubleshooting and fault-finding control networks and device issues.
Documentation & Communication:
Controls requirements specification, project scope of works, control philosophy documentation
Controls systems commissioning documentation.
Control system operation manuals
Carry out controls training for onsite operator personnel as required.
Standard work instructions.
Excellent report writing skills.
Customer facing, meetings and interactions.
Liaising and dealing with various controls systems integrators, subcontractors.
We’re experts, which means you’ll have the following skills and experience:
Minimum University Bachelors degree (BEng, BSc) or equivalent qualification in electrical electronics systems
Minimum 6 years’ control work experience, with 2yrs field / site based experience.
Industrial electrical & controls background within power generation, oil & gas, mining, energy sectors
Generator control / solar PV and energy storage / hybrid power plant control systems experience a bonus
Ability to read single line, electrical, instrumentation wiring loop diagrams and drawings.
Computer literate.
Computer LAN and ethernet based systems.
Experience with industrial OT network controls protocols such as Modbus, Profinet, Profibus, IEC61850, DNP3 etc.
Experience with SCADA & PLC based control applications & software development including, ladder logic, structured text, scripting etc.
Experience in Allen-Bradley / Omron / Siemens / Schneider Electric PLC based systems
Experience in Rockwell FactoryTalk, Thingworx, Siemens Simatic, Aveva, OPC, Kepware, SCADA HMI software
Software coding & programming experience in C++, Python, SQL, VBA etc.
Proficient with the Microsoft office suite of applications, Teams etc.
Proficient with the Windows OS.
Good organization and time management skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
