The Team
Our respected Strategy & Performance Improvement (SPI) team is built on deep functional and industry expertise with a demonstrable and differentiated ability to address the most complex business problems and deliver dramatic and sustainable improvements.
Our highly experienced teams thrive in critical situations where clients are looking to respond to external changes such as competitor dynamics or industry disruption. We help our clients to define and redefine strategy, plan and execute transformation, develop investment cases and business plans, and navigate complex merger integrations and carve-outs. We work with sovereign wealth and private equity funds, government ministries and bodies, and corporations across multiple industries including financial services and investment companies, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, industrials and manufacturing, and real estate and hospitality amongst others.
The Role
We are looking to recruit exceptional professionals in the United Arab Emirates across Senior Associate and Manager levels.
As a Senior Associate, you will also provide guidance to junior members of the team. You will be working closely with your project manager and other senior members of the team. You will own workstreams and independently develop ideas and solutions to address the client’s issues. You will have the opportunity to start building your leadership and management skills and leverage on your interest in motivating and inspiring others.
A Manager at A&M typically leads a team of 2-5 consultants to help clients, leading the day-to-day execution of a client project while guiding and developing individual team members. Working with some of the brightest and most experienced colleagues in the industry, you will develop and implement forward-looking concepts and support your clients in the context of strategy, performance improvement, transformation, operational turnaround and pre- and post-deal support.
Working within a collaborative team environment, you will benefit from the support of senior colleagues yet have the opportunity to work autonomously. You will work directly with clients – usually on-site – and support your team with developing ideas and solutions to address the client’s issues. Culture is important for A&M and our consultants actively participate in firm-building committees and initiatives such as recruiting, learning and development, culture, marketing, and finance.
The Responsibilities
From the beginning, you will work in a fast-growing and dynamic team to:
Conduct rapid diagnostics into companies’ strategy, market positioning, revenues, cost base, profitability and operations; this includes performing robust and high quality data analysis and understanding results to examine the root cause of problems with moderate oversight from senior members of the A&M project team
Produce extensive financial modelling and analysis including cash flow models and projections
Support the team to identify a portfolio of high-impact opportunities across the enterprise, ranging from quick wins to the ‘tough calls’ which deliver transformational results, including investment portfolio analysis for private equity, sovereign wealth fund and family office clients
Design, develop and implement target operating models and organisation structures, including consideration of support services centralisation
Synthesize information after research and analysis into high quality client reports and recommendations using Excel, PowerPoint, Thinkcell, Power BI and Tableau
Build models based on financial and/or operational data and as such have excellent knowledge of Excel (to analyse the data) and PowerPoint (to present the analyses)
Present key findings to the A&M team and client, utilising high quality and professional presentation and communication skills
Maximize efficiency and proactively find solutions to increase productivity; employ the pareto principle on assigned deliverables to determine where to devote energy to optimize results
Take ownership of tasks and generate viable solutions, with moderate oversight and guidance. Propose solutions to A&M senior team members; analyse the situation, present the data and potential options, provide a recommendation
Understand and manage processes for assigned tasks, and meet assigned deadlines
Support Managing Directors and other senior members of the team with client pitch production and other business development related activities
Build mid-level client relationships, and understand the needs of mid-level management in day-to-day interactions
The Requirements
To be considered, you must possess:
A high-grade bachelor’s degree (or equivalent/higher) from an accredited top-tier university in business, management, engineering, accounting or similar disciplines is essential;
Master’s degree / MBA from a top-tier university or an accounting qualification (CFA, ACCA, etc.) is preferable but not essential;
4-9 years of prior full-time consulting experience (or a minimum of 4-5 years of full-time non-consulting work experience in other professional services firm);
Previous experience in areas such as strategy, pre- and post-deal support, business transformation and/or performance improvement, and operational turnaround;
Excellent financial skills and analytical rigour;
A track record of solving complex business and financial problems;
An understanding of how to collaborate with a variety of people at different levels; and
Fluent business level English is essential, Arabic is preferable.
