Supervisor for Cold store-2, Maersk, Dubai, UAE

Job purpose:

To supervise the day- to-day operations within the Distribution Centre in terms of receiving, checking, storing, picking, stock control activities, Quality, Health & Safety, and to ensure that these functions are carried out in a timely, reliable, and cost-effective manner.

Job responsibilities

· Organizes and directs operations' workflow and job responsibilities within the warehouse to ensure effective management of the receipt, storage, picking, packing, loading, and shipping of products to customers.

· Maintains records of inventory and location for production control and cost accounting to ensure adherence to Maersk warehouse and distribution procedures

· Conducts inventory control through cyclical stock counts to maintain stock integrity and through this, to ensure that financial stock takes, and stock counts are conducted according to client contracts and Maersk cyclical requirements. This would ensure that stock integrity is maintained in line with WMS

· Co-ordinates with internal customs department to ensure custom clearance procedures are compiled and legal requirements are met

· Generates pick sheets for outbound shipments; ensures that the correct items are picked and packed as per customer requirements and category of goods

· Generates ASN for inbound shipments and ensures the items are verified and put away to the correct locations

· Performs ABC analysis on a quarterly basis, to analyze the trend for fast moving items

· Keenly monitors and maintains daily shift task report and report the same to line manager

• Conducts monthly, quarterly, and yearly employee performance review, to identify talents among team and create successors. · Updates the daily operational dash boards

· On Job training and development of direct reports for succession planning

· KPI Analysis and Presentation to higher management

· Develops good relationship with customers to ensure high customer service levels are maintained at all times.

· Manages and troubleshoot problems with WMS to ensure the operations in distribution centers flow continuously and respond to any errors accordingly and in time

· Implements Security and Quality, Health, Safety and Environment (QHSE) policies and procedures to ensure that quality standards & requirements in the distribution center are complied with

· Ensure temperature requirements for assigned areas are managed and measured

· Elevate potential problems and opportunities for improvement to Warehouse Manager

· Ensures that expected staff productivity standards are met and maintained within the agreed KPI's

· Ensures that employees are guided, supported and trained daily; organizes structured on the job trainings

· Conducts daily Toolbox meetings to train the staff on good warehouse practices.

Education, Experience, Technical Skills

Education

· Graduate in any discipline

Experience

· At least 2 - 3 years' experience in a supervisory level role in Warehouse Operations

Skills

· WMS

· Excel

· MS office

· Able to demonstrate.

· Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills

· Clear communication verbal, or in writing

· Tactfulness and politeness

· Efficiency and accountability

· Ability to develop and sustain good working relationships with the clients

· Ability to work well under pressure and meet aggressive deadlines

· Ability to conduct professional presentations
