Accountable To
The position is responsible for creating operation models to analyze optimal design to execute the new or existing operations focusing on equipment and manpower efficiency, operating cost optimization and utilization of available resources. Sr. Projects & Operations Design Manager will support Ports Operations team as well as Business analysis team in business cases and investment decisions through quantitative and qualitative analysis and recommendations. He is expected to lead business optimization strategy for ports cluster with focus on use of technology and automation. The incumbent will drive the using of automation technology and systems at ports starting with continual improvements in Terminal Operating system.
Responsible for
· Lead business improvement initiatives by,
· Working closely with Management and Operations Staff to identify, document, and analyse core business processes and workflows,
· Developing business improvement initiatives for the cluster.
· Monitoring and executing the initiatives across various departments in ports cluster.
· Analyze the business steps and optimizing where required.
· Perform quantitative analysis and modelling of port operations activities with focus on
· Optimal operations design using manpower and equipment resources
Working Relationship
· Reduction or optimization of operating costs
· Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate strategies for operational management and development, to meet agreed operational performance goals and objectives.
· Develop new operational models that underpin sound business decisions for operational projects.
· Facilitate stakeholder groups to consensus regarding new business process designs for new operational projects.
· Driving use of automation and technology at the cluster by,
· Leading implementation of terminal operating system (TOS) across all ports locally or internationally,
Objectives and Role Profile
· Promoting use of resource management system and integration of all systems to a single reporting
· ensure technology projects are carried on in an appropriate, effective way
· Regularly updating management in implementation progress, issues and challenges, and mitigation strategy.
· Liaison with Digital cluster for ports related initiatives
· Track milestones and deadlines to ensure our technology projects are delivered in timely fashion.
· Lead the implementation of ISO standards at port cluster through,
· Establishing the quality systems review and implementation program across various functions of cluster.
Key Tasks and Performance Indicators
· Support various departments in the audits and process review initiatives.
· Ensure thorough implementation of reporting process for key performance indicators from process perspective.
· Develop and maintain regular reporting to ensure managers can be held accountable for performance
· Prepare and submit Investment cases based on ports cluster’s development strategy.
· Prepare and monitor
· Ports Capex program and budgets
· Monthly and quarterly budget utilization reports in liaison with Finance department and ETS.
· Prepare operating expenses benchmarks and simulate expenses sensitivities to support operational decisions
· Verify the existing operation pattern and suggest new ideas for an efficient and speedy profitable output.
· Assist in project documentation including all signed off paperwork and track deliverables.
· Work safely in in accordance with AD Ports applicable HSE Management System, Standard Operation Procedure and Work Instructions.
· To participate in identifying and reporting work related hazards and risks.
· Participate in HSE campaigns, environmental initiatives and HSE Surveys.
Qualifications/Experience/Competencies
· Bachelors Degree or higher in Business administration with strong knowledge business and operations modelling. Post graduate degree with emphasis on economics or business, MBA or equivalent preferred.
· Advanced analytical skills and strong financial/valuation acumen
· Ability to handle confidential information
· Ability to document process information and models using visual diagrams
· Thinks critically and independently.
· Expertise using Microsoft Office (Excel, PPT etc and Visio).
