Job Purpose:


Head up sustainability for Aldar Investments and its subsidiaries to lead sustainability strategy, delivery of the sustainability/ESG program, Carbon Neutrality, and develop the sustainability narrative. This is while ensuring alignment to the Group’s sustainability strategy.


Roles and Responsibilities:


Maintain an updated and relevant sustainability strategy, policies, procedures and management systems.

Lead the sustainability governance to ensure the buy-in to the sustainability strategy, on time and on quality implementation of the sustainability strategy in line with the leading practices and in conjunction with Group’s Sustainability team. This includes developing sustainability implementation plans, targets, and timelines.

Align with the government sustainability standards and codes across the various operations.

Optimize Asset Management Business’s sustainability strategy to ensure seamless alignment to asset management sustainability trends and leading practices visible in the region and globally with a deeper review of the socio-economic and environmental opportunities presented to Aldar with its enhanced Government relationships.

Push the Energy Efficiency and renewable energy agenda into the Investment operations.

Collaborate with functions and teams within the Investment business as well as across Aldar Group, as relevant, to deliver on sustainability requirements devising the best tools and systems to implement sustainability frameworks in financial appraisal and monitor sustainability performance actuals against targets.

Own, monitor, review, analyse, sign off and report the sustainability data across Investment Management operations and teams. And ensure sustainability data availability and reliability at Aldar Sustainability Data Management System.

Coordinate across the business to integrate sustainability requirements within the business standards, processes and financial appraisals.

Coordinator with the different Investment functions/teams on the implementation of Sustainability requirements; gather performance metrics and report periodically on the same.

Develop and implement sustainability related policies and programs; ensure integration of these policies and programs in all relevant operations.

Conduct sustainability-related risk assessments, identify the sustainability financial implications on the business and identify control measures.

Evaluate and approve proposals for sustainability projects, considering factors such as cost effectiveness, technical feasibility, and integration with other initiatives.

Identify opportunities for green initiatives and evaluate program effectiveness.

Lead and coordinate sustainability disclosure, reporting processes and assessments for Aldar Investment.

Build out tracking and reporting of all sustainability efforts within Aldar Investment; identify and partner with internal business units that contribute information towards sustainability metrics.

Instill sustainability in all investment papers and across all reporting.

Provide quarterly and annual collection, analysis and reporting of environmental sustainability data for Aldar Investment.

Work closely and proactively with key external stakeholders to implement and monitor strategic sustainability initiatives, represent Aldar Investment for sustainability externally and promote Aldar as a responsible company.

Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, building management systems, green buildings, and reporting processes relating to sustainability.

Knowledgeable about global best practice and advanced areas of thought leadership.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, required for one-to-one communication, delivering presentations and for conflict and dispute resolution.

Excellent writing skills for the preparation of complex strategies and technical reports.

Ability to create visual representations of data and progress

 

Qualifications

 

RELATED YEARS OF EXPERIENCE


Min of: 15 years of Real Estate / Asset Management experience in sustainability, energy management and audits, Estidama, sustainable/green buildings, and environmental management.


YOE IN MANAGERIAL POSITION


Min of: 5 years of managerial experience.


FIELD OF EXPERIENCE


Private sector, preferably Real estate or construction consultant industry

Demonstrated experience in asset management in sustainability, energy management and audits, Estidama, sustainable/green buildings, and environmental management.

Sustainability/ESG frameworks and reporting such as the GRESB, CDP, DJSI and GRI.

TECHNICAL AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS


Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, building management systems, green buildings, and reporting processes relating to sustainability.

Knowledgeable about global best practice and advanced areas of thought leadership.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, required for one-to-one communication, delivering presentations and for conflict and dispute resolution.

Excellent writing skills for the preparation of complex strategies and technical reports.

Ability to create visual representations of data and progress

QUALIFICATION


Bachelor degree in a related field including sustainability, engineering, environmental policy or a related field.
